Now THAT is a load of drivel.

Ange speaks in gypsy curses.
"ange what will a cup do for tottenham?"
"dogs, you like dogs? you look like a boxer. i'll fight for it"

It's as clear as day.

I am not the kind of person that hops into tin foil hat territory at all so the fact that even I can see it says a lot.

Look at the game where we beat Liverpool and they went down to 9 men for example, the fallout from that by the media was as if a mistake had never been made in a game of football before.

I have never heard people say that teams who win the EL shouldn't qualify for the CL and then all of a sudden it's a talking point now that we have a chance, there are so many examples of this over the years with us and I don't know how anybody can deny it.

The Leicester season for me was when it really became apparent.
I've been saying this for years now. We're not one of the Prem chosen. They need the clubs with the biggest followings up competing for the top trophies, as it ensures that their viewing figures remain high, and they can sell the "brand" across the World to those followers of the biggest clubs.

The mainstream media bought into this a long while ago for the same reasons, you sell more papers and get more clicks when you're constantly reporting about their darlings, whilst feeding those same fans negativity on us as they lap it all up.

It is the most corrupt league on Earth and, let's face it, the majority of fans will ignore it, as the majority follow the SKY chosen, or you get those that would rather die than be seen as a "conspiracy theorist." We have more than a few of those on here.

There's none so blind as those that refuse to see.

plus if we win this it will in no way get the trophy monkey fully off our backs. if europa stays as it is with no cl clubs dropping down, it's significance will greatly diminish year by year. i mean, just look at the clubs we went through. just look at the semi final aggregate scores. 12-2 by bottom dwelling english clubs? i know if any of our rivals were in our current position i'd never let them forget our glorious run through middle earth to the scrabble cup. i'll be very happy to win but folks are losing their minds over this just so they can prop up ange's bloated dead corpse and claim some personal vindication. it's pathetic really
I'm losing my mind about it, but it's got nothing to do with me wanting to prop up his dead corpse - the two are not necessarily entwined.

Also saying it won't get the trophy monkey off our backs is a step into crazy town. Regardless of the massive spending advantage Premier League clubs have over European competition, this is still Europe's silver competition. Not one for tooting his horn but it's no surprise Ange called out those desperate to denigrate the achievement when our owns fans are all too happy to jump on the bandwagon.

We've won fuck all in years, and had to deal with monopolies, dynasties and conspiracies in that time (not to mention our charming ownership and their measured management). If we win that final it's massive and no one should be saying otherwise.

Our primary issue has been down to individual mistakes, rather than significant tactical errors.
It's really not. Whilst individual mistakes have genuinely cost us a lot more often than they should, they are not the primary issue, that is our predictability. Any team we face knows exactly how we will play, so they are set up to exploit us. On the rare occasions when we've deviated from that predictability, we've been successful.
It's no accident that we look far better when our team is made up of our experienced players. Udogie @ 22 was our youngest starter last night, but still has bags of experience.
That is true, but those experienced players have also been made to look poor because of the way in which they've been instructed to play. As above, when those instructions have deviated from the norm, we've looked a lot more coherent in our play.
Gray, Spence, Bergvall, Tel, Odobert, Moore, Kinsky, Dragusin are great young players, but aren't yet experienced enough to be playing significant minutes at this level.
I simply don't agree with that. They have the talent to have significant minutes at this level, they've just lacked a structure to help them maximise it.

I was all for the gung ho approach in our first season, as that was all about instilling that attacking mentality, so the odd rough game I could take in my stride, as that first season, for me, was all about habits. However, I expected a far more pragmatic approach this season where we would still maintain that attacking mindset, but from a far more stable structure, i.e. have the players playing a bit deeper and more compact, but constantly looking to force a mistake and spring when they did. That doesn't mean I expected every game to be like that, but it would have added another dimension to our play to keep the opposition guessing and wary. Instead he doubled down on the gung ho, at a time when the many injuries we had meant that that structural setup would have benefitted us hugely IMO.

I like AP the man and was desperate for him to succeed as almost as much for him as for us, but the reality of our situation is that he's failed massively in the league, and a European trophy, as wonderful as it would be, will not alter that fact. The only thing that will is a demonstration that he's learnt from those errors and adapted. Sadly, he's had multiple opportunities to demonstrate that and, apart from the games against City and a few recent Europa league games, he simply hasn't.

I detest the vitriol towards him, but even if he wins the EL, he'll get a "thanks for the memories and good luck in your next job" from me. I wish him every success in his future, but I simply cannot see that ever being with us, which is saddening.

I am about as Ange out as can be, but who wouldn't celebrate winning a trophy? Not just to break the long spell without one, but also for the practical aspects. Champions League matters. It mattered a year ago when Postecoglou was downplaying it, and it matters now because of the revenue and how it increases the club's attractiveness to players on the market. I can live with Postecoglou going on about how everyone doubted him and he always wins and he never had any doubt. He's always on about something, and if he stays he'll just get himself fired next season anyway. If Spurs win it everyone, in or out, should take the time to enjoy it. Doesn't happen that often.
Is there anyone who's actually said that??

If we are waiting to win the PL or CL we are likely to have a long wait so in the meantime I am more than happy to win the EL or either of the two cups at home. Agree the EL has being downgraded but grab it if we can and enjoy the win if we can do it .

The thing is you just know these same dickheads would be pissed should the moment happen once the final whilst goes...then again these same clowns are all about putting their precious online 'need to be right' ego in front of the club...you can see what's more important to them...gotta thirst for those internet points ☠️

You are a walking talking contradiction.

You are the one who spent most of this season saying that Ange should stay. Every post on here it was you telling people they are wrong and that he’s the answer. Then you slowly realised that it wasn’t the case and you disappeared for months on end.

Now here you are talking shite yet again about people wanting to be proved right about ange when that’s exactly what YOU have been doing all season. The difference is we haven’t ran to hide under a rock and still stand by that belief. Europa league final or not, Ange is a terrible manager and our league position proves it beyond any doubt. There’s no one on this forum with a bigger ‘need to be right’ than you, you muppet.

haha yeah no one will ever question our bona fides ever again after this glorious run through a weakened europa league. this will shut them up for good no doubt

Who gives a shit what other people think about it? If that's how you define your support more power to you, but that trophy monkey exists because "we" haven't had one to celebrate, and if we win then "we" get to celebrate however we choose. If you'll be spending that time bemoaning the fact that the journey might be a source of ridicule for those who get a kick out doing just that then you're contributing to the very thing that drives them and depriving yourself of some actual joy. Fuck that, sounds rubbish
