If we are going to move away from hardcore Angeball, surely it’s better to bring a new manager with a different idea of football rather than ask Ange to do something he’s never done before?
exactly this! hes a rookie! watch the last 20 mins against united and although we were sitting in, it was so disjointed and ugly, we had 3 men going to the same ball at times. it was playground stuff.

archie gray was interviewed by the little melt for spurs tv or whatever at the parade, he asked him what the manager said to him as he was everywhere....he said he told him nothing just where he was playing, he took it on himself to make sure bruno had no time on the ball!! i mean just wow! hes sending a teenager on at a time like that in a final with no instructions! even a sunday league manager would give more.

how can you look at the football and think there's anything of substance happening on the pitch? this shift away from ange ball has been a disgrace where we just sit ten men in front of goal and don't attack at all. ange finally saw his ideas were getting ripped to shreds weekly and his last hope was to eek out this cup, so his alternative is to sit 10 deep and pray. c'mon man there's nothing there! everyone who knows anything can see it . our disastrous football has only gotten worse as the season has ended. if levy keeps him he's just bowing to the vibes and we'll pay the price again.
I don't quite see it like that tbh mate.

I have no issues with us sitting deep and to be honest, whilst I agree we did that, it's not like the opposition were creating chances themselves. United created maybe 1 good chance, Frankfurt zero, Bodo Zero.....I means it's not like we got peppered and got lucky. In all those games there was a level of control and never did we look panicky or desperate.

The point I'm making is that I didn't even think he had it in his locker to change it so drastically. His stubbornness and inability to change it in the league led me to believe he was a lost cause. I still think he's an egotistical passive aggressive man but he deserves massive praise in what he has done.

He is absolutely saying the right things about making mistakes in the window and the need for experience. As i said before, there was a warning sign in his post match interview after winning the Europa where he was sort of making excuses for changing his style with knock out football being different to the league so I am wary. I'd have preferred him to just accept he changed it because it wasn't working previously but again...thats probably down to his ego that he can't admit that.

There one thing I absolutely will give Ange praise for - not starting Son in the final.

That surprised me.

I fully expected a 'Kane moment' and for it to bite us in the arse just the same.

What an incredibly stupid asshole I am!

I stand by this club and actually seriously believe that the many injuries could have played a role in this club's decline to such an extent that it's unbelievable.

They haven't even reached the otherwise necessary milestone to avoid relegation! Not even that!
And then I, the simpleton, believe that winning the Europa League means anything!
Ridiculous!

This club, for which a complete idiot like me wastes his free time, only "wins" this cup because they got to play against teams even worse than Tottenham!
Most recently, against the world-unknown club Bodo, right?
Not to mention those characters from Germany, that village club from Hesse. A club in whose state apple wine is considered a delicacy – can't be a real football club!
They're probably actually synchronized swimmers!

Since I'm also from this state in Germany, I hope you understand my cluelessness as I navigated the forum!

My idiotic belief that a) there were too many injured, absolutely crucial players last season and b) winning the Europa League is something very special for me, without considering that if Tottenham or even Frankfurt win the trophy, it can't be a serious trophy.

I was always afraid of the football-free period because I love the sport so much.
Now I have until August 16, 2025, to reflect on my inappropriate behavior before I post another pile of garbage on this forum.

I couldn't give a damn whether we won the trophy against United or Cloud Cuckoo Land!
I couldn't care less!
On May 21, 2025, Tottenham Hotspur FC beat 35 – that's thirty-five! – clubs to win the Europa League, thus qualifying for the 2025/26 Champions League!

And next season, I'm predicting that this fabulous club will finish in the top 10 of the PL!

I'm already looking forward to the coming season and am offering to try to get another ticket for a possible match against Eintracht Frankfurt, so that I can humiliate a user in this forum by having to watch a match between two insignificant clubs live.

No offense!

COME ON YOU SPURS!
You post the least amount of garbage on here my guy!

In theory Levy doesn't need to worry about what fans might think of this or that decision of his. This is not a democracy, the guy is just running his private business here. As long as he has enough consumers willing to purchase his products (season tickets, merchandise etc) he won't lose any sleep over any kind of potential discontent. That's the unfortunate reality.

That being said, IF he's already undecided on this issue or even leaning towards keeping Ange, fan support for Ange on the ground might tip the scales here. And Levy being undecided/cordial towards Ange is hardly a far-fetched assumption.

I've always believed that Ange, the -superficially- charming person that he is, has Levy under his spell. He doesn't treat him the same way that he treated his previous managers. The way he stuck with him through thick and thin over the course of this season only reaffirmed this for me. And he probably considers his -irrational- belief in Ange fully vindicated now that we have a trophy to show for it.

My hunch is that he thinks that he has just started reaping the rewards of this Ange experiment. Wouldn't be surprised to see him double down on it this summer honestly.

The inzaghi links the week before the CL final are bizarre. I'd say there is zero chance of us getting him anyway. Must be AC Milan journalists spreading lies to distract Inter before the CL final. Its a nasty business.

Hope no fans are actually buying them stories. You'll be left very underwhelmed if you think there is even a chance of us getting Inzaghi.

Him being linked to Saudi is strange too. Maybe it’s his agent trying to get him a bumper new contract.

However if he wants to try another country and Paratici can persuade him then we’ve got to go for it. He’s a serious manager.

A bit short of a sandwich.

Cmon guys what are we doing here??

I've made it clear what I think of him and thought there was ZERO chance he could land a trophy but he did it and did it tweaking his tactics.

The man (when we all thought was deluded and spoke absolute bollocks) stated he would win us a trophy and he did. If someone talks shit but actually backs his talk then how can you even hate?

He's saying now he knows what mistakes we made in the window last summer and we need experience now. I'm not a hater by nature, if someone (even if I completley dislike the person) says something and actually delivers then I mean, I tend to Start believing that ok there's substance behind this.
Next year will be even harder and he’s demonstrated zero ability to handle even just two competitions.

I appreciate what he helped to achieve, but it’s just not good enough and next year has all the likelihood of being worse without a change.

‘mistakes in the window’ is just blaming the players and the board. and i didn’t see any plan with his new sitting deep strategy. just two lines of 5 with a bunch of headless chickens

I can totally get why the players love him, he does seem to be good at the motivational speeches. I get that. It's just most of the time on the pitch though they just don't look like they know what to do or how.

I can see they'd be willing to run through walls for him, but it's just not enough on its own is it?

Doing something utterly shit but doing it at 100mph doesn't make it better.

The players feelings are a consideration of course, but it doesn't trump losing 58% of our matches in a league season.

Professional sports are a business. No arguing with that fact. However unlike any other business a sports team derives its income primarily through emotional investment.

People don't pick the team they support every new season like a car insurance policy. This gives owners incredible latitude on the liberties they often take. That is until they seriously start messing with that emotional investment capital.

So yes football is a business. It is though a business that has to have emotion taken into consideration before any major decision is made.

For that reason I think Ange will probably be manager at the beginning of next season.

I can only hope things go well.

Lol you guys....

You all called him a fraud, layed into him for months and he completely mugged you all off.

So funny watching you seethe.

The guy proved you all wrong as much as he did right.

Goes, stays, whatever, he gave you a european trophy and you couldn't even give it 5 days to allow others to still enjoy it... some of you couldn't give it 2 days.

Is there anyone who actually believes it was Ange's cunning plan all along to throw the league so we could win the cup?

#IQTest

Youre fishing for reactions here, and judging by the ones you got, you very much know your audience here.

There isn't a single chance focusing on the cups over the league was not discussed with the club. Its the ONLY reason he kept his job.

someone find one quote where ange takes personal responsibility for the results on the pitch ever. something along the lines of, 'i got it wrong' or 'we got the tactics wrong' or 'i shouldn't have played this player'. i won't hold my breath.

The highlighted part may actually be his ethos. But without the stupid part (in his head)

Into and after the final he was talking about how he pushed the "stonecutter creed" on the players. Which boils down to "the first 100 blows don't matter, it is the 101st and final one".

But carving a statue out of stone and playing competitive football are two very different things.

well he kind of did, he was clearly injured as he didnt even make the bench for the brighton game...he gave him long enough to nearly fuck it up for us too.
Yeah and I still expected him to start him, regardless.

Like Kane wasn't really ready to come back in CL final (not to mention the absolutely abhorrent mugging off of my guy Moura).

Thought he'd jemmy him in even if at 40% or whatever.

Just inject him up and push him out there.
