That he had to finish 17th with 22 losses in order to beat Bodo fucking Glimpt.
It’s pretty self explanatory (to someone moderately intelligent) what I’m claiming and it’s that the fifth place finish in 23/24 is not indicative of Ange’s ability as Harry7 keeps trotting out. What’s difficult to understand with that?!
Last season’s 17th place finish inidicates that, so ‘stop trying to argue with facts, you’re being thick!’

The narrative that he got 'found out' after those first 10 matches is a load of crap. What happened is that our key players who were performing at a high level (Maddison/VDV) got injured for 3 months, Romero got suspended, Udogie/Rich, Perisic were hurt and subsequently we dropped points, we didn't start drop points due to tactics, we started to drop points due to being considerably weakened.
If he got 'found out' after the first 10 then we wouldn't have won half our matches from round 10 to round 20, we lost form because we lost key players and struggled to recover.
Now before you say anything our key players came back towards the end of the season and we were poor which was completely on the manager however anyone who suggests that the manager got found out ignoring the context of key personnel going missing during that period either have a shit memory or just lying to themselves because it doesn't fit their confirmation bias about the manager.

Fine and that 5th place should not be taken in isolation because you can't ignore what happened this season.
If anything what you're saying that over the course of 2 seasons going by the mean Ange is a mid table manager, if you're happy to swap him with another mid table manager who haven't managed to win silverware then okay then sure...
What I'm debating is people trying to discount the first 10 and using all sorts of mental gymnastics to justify their bogus arguments.

The all conquering jobless Gary O'Neill who apparently managed to tell the world about Ange's tactics where Arteta, Klopp and the flavour of the month Iarola failed, of course.
A top manager finds solutions when injuries occur. Ange can't do that as he's not a good manager. He only has one way and either it works or it don't. In the premier league it doesn't work. And a system only working for 10 games is a shitty system.
Now it only works against weak teams in Europa league. Even low league teams nearly but us this year. Zara cashiers were destroying Ange ball. At that point you should've realized.
Do you reckon you'll realise that at some point nobody listens to you when you constantly repeat this.

Lots of people here are incredibly emotionally attached to the idea that Ange is categorically a fraud who never should have been considered for the role in the first place and essentially can't be assessed as a "normal" "real" manager because he's just some random Aussie bloke mashing buttons on a Playstation controller.
Because that's stupid and obviously incorrect, it leads to a lot of very bad, unconvincing arguments in response to the ACTUAL question of whether Ange is our best option to kick on and improve as we face the gauntlet of a brutally high level of competition twice a week.
Being able to recognize the things Ange has done well, and some of the ways in which they may not translate going forward would considerably strengthen those arguments, but they're so passionately committed to the idea of Ange as a novice contest winner they can't conceive of it.
