I don't expect a trophy, I expect us to give it a real go. I expect us to not forfeit our chances of success.
If he put out a reasonable first XI with some rotation and we lost then that's just football, but to basically fight a losing battle out of the gate because of the lineup is inexcusable.
this is a test for ange. he should of learnt bundles tonight, especially when he sees spurs fans calling it the same old shit.

love that hes completely shut donkey dier out, but a good 3-5 of them tonight need to never play again for the club as they are just not good enough! sanchez, davies and skipp are champo players. sticking them all out at the same time is a struggle thats almost impossible to overcome, its been proven so many times now its beyond a joke! hopefully thats the last time we have to suffer that shit.

"We weren't at our fluent best, particular early on and not surprising given changes I made."

If it's not surprising that we weren't at our best then why did you make those changes.

All the technical limitations aside, there seemed to be a serious lack of effort and urgency.
Stuck out for me too

Said it in the gameday thread but I wonder how much of this is a mentality thing, one that is more evident in the players that haven't been a part of Ange's first team that looks like it's a lot of fun to be involved in. Understandable really given that supposedly all Conte did for a year and a half was run around and tell everyone they're shit and the sole reason why we have to play lobotomyball

I would say it's almost evident that we have two teams within a team looking at the second string and the first team. If they were twin boys the first child is handsome, athletic, popular, smart and everyone wants to get to know them - whereas the other child is a social outcast, doesn't shower, listens to weird goth music and lectures people about how deep the bass guitar riff is

Against my better judgement, there's still a part of me that has time for Sanchez and Davies - only because I saw them play well many moons ago when they were playing alongside competent players - and I do think Lo Celso is well suited to Angeball tactics. If Ange wants to keep them though, he's gotta squeeze them in as subs into league matchdays somehow, and even then that's a question of whether it's worth anyone's time for a hunch

The odd cup tie won't give him the information he said he's looking for

But if he does that then he’s less likely to have players traded and we go deeper in the season with the same appalling depth and get exposed by resurgent teams like Villa and West Ham and then Spurs fans lose their shit all season.
Levy won't care if Ange has to work with dross.

He won't be ripping up contracts just because Ange somehow showed Daniel they're not up to it.

Daniel's priorities are:
1) Shift the players that won't make the cut in exchange for the most money he can get
2) Tell Ange he needs to work with the players he can't move for financial reasons

That's Spurs.

I don't understand what you're trying to say. You think us losing to Fulham will mean Levy will buy more players than he planned? As someone who has seen this team lose to some truly awful teams I can assure you that it isn't true.
Not necessarily but more players but at least bring some urgency to the ones he's planning to and not be tempted to do less, although maybe it was just a chance for Ange to see how his second string side would do against a mostly stacked Fulham side.

Well no wonder Spurs have won nothing for 15 years then

Now he knows who is up for the fight or not.

Tonight just proves the threadbare quality throughout the squad and how those players are adapting to the ‘Angeball’ style 👍

For me, I could not believe it was the same team as Saturday. I understand it wasn't, but they could not even play it out of the back. Against Cherries, it was so calm and collected, no problem getting out. One problem was Forster, always seemed under extreme pressure. Lumping it forward without an apparent target. Midfielders seemed panicked.

Haven't watched the game or any highlights yet, so I risk fruit being flung at me but as a premier league fan for a long time I can honestly say who gives a fuck about the Carabao Cup? He put out a team full of the subs who would be expected to contribute serious minutes through the season and should be able to hold their own in a game together and it looks like they did until they lost on penalties. I need to watch it but some of the names in that starting team are "quality" players or maybe they aren't and need to go this week, the lack of action cleaning out the hangers on is a bit of a worry for sure.

Forster was one problem. Every one in our midfield and defence vs Bournemouth can control a ball and pass, this was much less true for our midfield and defence vs Fulham, therefore, massive ball progression issues.

i was actually impressed with how well VDV did tonight considering he had 3 good defenders back there replaced with 3 donkeys. maybe a little harsh on emerson but hes not exactly porro on the ball is he.

it just goes to show how big the leap is in the standard from the first 4 to the backup, they are miles apart. i think he could of got away with PEH and gio if they started with a bissouma or sarr. but starting them two with skipp was just a recipe for disaster in the middle.

You'll probably find - and this is true for all clubs not just Tottenham - that the general consensus of the Milk/Carling/Carabao Cup is no one gives a fuck about it until they're eliminated from it, where then it becomes a great injustice and a travesty
