Without trying to sound too positive. Wasn't that also the same defence that conceded just 40 goals the previous year?

I'm not defending our defenders. Most of the team shouldn't be here and we need to upgrade sharpish. But we can't judge a seasons defensive record in isolation when performing in a redundant system.

I would put money on us conceding no where near the amount we conceded last season
We most likely won't as we have Destiny as LB and he alone is nowhere near as immobile as Lenglet and Davis. Not to mention a change in formation that will stop us from being over run in MF with Conte's 2.

That alone will save a fair few goals scored against us..

And TBH, I really wouldn't want to take the piss, another season outside of Europe will hurt us big time.

We literally invited teams onto us under Conte and Mourinho. Common-sense tells you that the more ball the other team has closer to your goal, the more goals they will inevitably score.

We literally gave our opponents the ball under Conte and Mourinho. Common-sense tells you that the more possession the other mob has, the more goals they will inevitably score.

Postecoglou will have us defending higher up the pitch and we will have more of the ball. Will we still concede dumb goals because some of our defenders are stupid footballers? Yes. But if we put ourselves under less pressure at the back I expect we limit the damage.

Sean Sean you think any of the top 6 clubs would have him in their starting 11 ?

Lol you've not watched a press conference before, have you.

They'll ask anyway, and it'll make the whole thing tense or he will walk off. Wasting everyone's time.

I watch pretty much all of them. Posto can be pretty abrasive and does not suffer fools. He would put them in their place and seems to relish it.
It may well be the reason but its out of character IMO for Posto to hide.

He might have been advised by the press officer/club not to do it. So it’s not his decision, but theirs

Sean Longstaff is good enough for other top 6 teams then is he?

Matt Targett? Jamaal Lascelles? Mohamed El-Neny? Rob Holding? Nat Phillips?

It's a squad game. Skipp is perfectly fine acting as a squad player. He's behind Bissouma (and Hojbjerg currently) as a #6 and he's most definitely not an 8 and even if he was, he's behind Maddison, Sarr, a returning Bentancur and Lo Celso, I'd imagine.

And they will all be moved on and replaced with better players in the next 12 months as Newcastle and Woolwich will want to maintain their cl positions. We on the other hand hold on to our average players for far too long which is why we are mid table
