Why does it make it alright because we only lost on penalties? We lost.

It's not as if we can put it right next round is it?
No, but the way you're going on is if we completely embarrassed ourself last night which we didn't.

We have a new manager who has implemented a change in style in a short space of time, he decided to play the 'squad' players who have clearly been performing well for him in training, they didn't pull up trees but we also didn't get battered 4-1.

The match went to pens, we lost due to Sanchez unfortunately missing. It's frustrating but it's hardly a disaster.

I don't care how we lost. WE LOST.

By making 9 changes and losing, you are opening yourself up for criticism and that's what he's getting. He got it wrong and that's it, om criticizing him.

Doesn't mean I want him out, doesn't mean I've lost faith. I'm pissed off because we lost as I always am.

We didn’t lose because of Sanchez, we lost because the back up players are shite

Sorry, but this just doesn't ring true when you read all the pre-match comments in the days leading up to the game...... Nor does the dismissive "Ah, everybody wanted to play a second string anyway; this is just bitching with the gift of hindsight!" sentiment keenly thrown about by some in the aftermath.

There were plenty of people that:

1. Visibly cared about the outcome......... Also consider every single person that paid for a ticket
2. Wanted to see a strong side put out.

Shit cup. People who paid for a ticket paid knowing its a shit cup.

These next 3 days and the signings/departures (or lack of them) will reveal a lot about the new manager and his ambition for The Spurs, or lack of it.

Have a look back through the thread if you have a chance, I think you'll find alot of posters posted a very similar expected line up.

It was hardly a surprise he chose the line up he did.

If this were a Champion's League game he wouldn't have rotated.

With no Europe there's no excuse to field shit teams. He had better not do this for the FA Cup, or we will know he's just full of shit.

You'll probably find - and this is true for all clubs not just Tottenham - that the general consensus of the Milk/Carling/Carabao Cup is no one gives a fuck about it until they're eliminated from it, where then it becomes a great injustice and a travesty
You’ll probably find most spurs fans take the carabo cup very seriously as it was probably our most likeliest chance of a trophy - this is a spurs supporters forum - I suggest you’d probably be better off spouting your ill informed rubbish on general football forums or on the forums of whoever it is you support

I'm afraid that doesn't make it ok.

It was very surprising to me and many at the game, especially after his speech about liking winning.

If you like winning, you give yourself the best chance of winning. He didn't do that.
9 changes in a knock out tournament is madness and we've paid the price.

Doesn't mean I have lost faith in him. It means I'm pissed off we have thrown another chance at silverware.

Fair enough 👍

How do the signings/departures reveal anything about the manager's ambition?

We all know who pulls the strings here.
Well - if we sign nobody and nobody leaves we'll know that Ange has less ambition than if he signs a few and several depart. Quite obvious really.

Unlike you, I don't adopt the lazy (and untrue), cop-out 'Levy controls absolutely everything' cliche.

Ange isn't in control of the ins and outs though. He can only make requests and say yes or no.

Levy and the suits ultimately control the actual transfers.
