I'm not a Levy supporter, but there is so much nonsense in blaming him for this man failure, the only C or D option I saw us buying was Ange himself. We bought Porro, supposedly wanted by City and no one would argue he couldn't start for any of the top six clubs I think. Romero is world class defender, world champion. Van de Ven, touted as the best signing of the season by some in here. Udogie is one of the most promising youngsters in Europe and has the potential to be one of the best LB in the world. Vicario saved our asses uncountable times and if it wasn't for him we would probably be mid-table by now. Maddison, one of the best AM in the League, we payed a lot for an experienced player that delivered a lot until the injury. Radu, we beat Bayern for him. Johnson was supposedly requested by Ange and we payed a lot of money. Who else? This signings are the plan C or D? The cheapest ones? If I blame Levy this time is for hiring Postecoglu, our squad is very good, apart from the attack options maybe and I said that before and I will repeat, give this squad to a good manager and we can easily get top 4.

Our squad is much better than people are making out. Its good enough to beat any of the top teams on its day. Yet we come away with 3s and 4s conceded and score what look like consolation goals after the games been lost.

You'll give him the entirety?
So when we get 2 points from our first 10, will you still give him that time?
I thought Ange would get 2 points from 10 games at the start of this season. He proved me wrong then and I am willing to let him improve again. If we are 5th by March again with a chance of 4th I see no point in sacking him again until the end of the season. Levy on the other hand...

This was the league table after Poch’s first season:

This is how it looks now:

The similarities are quite stark. 4 less points, scored 11 more, conceded the same (with 3 games to go) there was no Pep, Saudis.

We’ve also equalled last season’s points, we’ve scored one less, conceded 5 less with 3 games to go.

Both those previous seasons had Kane.

My personal opinion, but we have generally played more cohesive and clearer identity football than in Poch’s first season and much more proactive, risky and front foot than under Conte/mourinho/Nuno.

There’s clearly tactical flaws. Ange has made some really poor selection calls lately and subs often don’t make sense. We’ve got a team with some really weak parts, and nothing on the bench.

I’m definitely not totally convinced by Ange, but I would rather fail taking risks than fail playing the type of insipid shite we played under Mourinho and Conte.

Ive always said. If he cant bring some stability to the backline, he wont last. Ive also said he plays a highline for highline sake. Is there a tactical reason we need to push so high up the pitch? Or is it the way he 'believes' football should be played. If you are constantly getting played in behind and leaking goals, you need to adapt and plug the gap. Also sick of playing out the back like its a religion. Man City and Woolwich both go long off a goal kick. Whats wrong with the long ball?

Surely he wont let his pride get in the way of actually becoming a recognized and quality premier league manager? My biggest fear is he literally does not know how to organize a defence and his gung-ho attack attack attack style of football is his one and only trick.

If indeed Vicario, Porro, Romero, VDV, Udogie is an elite backline and keeper. Whats the reason for shipping 58 goals in 35 games?

Its getting to the stage were im neutral on Ange. A stage were ive got no interest in sacking him. However this is on the basis of availability of other managers. For instance, if Alonso signalled a desire to join Spurs, Ange would be out the door. But thats not happening. So Ange will get another year.

I am 100% on board with Ange beginning next season as Spurs manager.

This cycle of hiring and firing managers after 12 months or less is significantly worse than giving Ange another window and preseason to continue implementing his system and get rid of the dead weight.

Come the start of next season, that’ll be three windows and two preseasons to meld the squad into what he wants. If results are still shit heading into the new year, then there needs to be serious questions asked.

Be patient.

Ange has gone through these periods at every club he has managed and look where they have ended up.

Ange should be compared to the likes of Pep, Klopp and Arteta. They all needed time. How long did it take Pep to win the league at City (who are cashed up like no other club before them), how long did it take Klopp to win the league at Liverpool and despite challenging, when will Arteta win the league at Woolwich?

Those coaches have had to turnover almost their entire squads to win/challenge and Tottenham will be no different. Ange is the right man for the job.

Some people on here need to look at the clubs motto. Is it BS or does it actually mean something? A lot of what I'm reading is that people are too afraid to go up against the most successful clubs and are happy to just sit in Tottenham's corner fighting for 4th place.

We have lost 11 of our last 25 PL games, been knocked out of both cup competitions and are on a 4 match league losing streak for the first time in 20 years. But no one cares cos Big Ange calls journalists ‘mate’ and admits his team are shit

there is no gung ho attack/.

everything breaks down (!!) once the wingers slow down on receiving the ball - looks up & can't see a straight path or beat a defender and passes it backwards. from there on there will be multiple short passes & then recycle back to the other flank.

Either his playbook/tactic is sh#t -or the players are.

His attacking system will not work unless we have an entirely new front line.

Son is well past it, Richarlison, mid table and has never scored more than 15 goals in all 7 of his Premier League seasons, Johnson, quite frankly, is fucking terrible, Kulusevski is slow, indecisive, has no right foot and can't shoot and Werner is Werner. You can get away with it in lesser leagues, but not here. The standard is too high. The fact that we lost our "once in a generation talent" striker in Kane and failed to even attempt to replace him is a fucking disgrace.

Those are the recruitment issues that need to be addressed. There's a load of tactical and coaching aspects that need resolving too.

He needs to bring in a defensive/set piece coach as a matter of urgency. Defensively, we look like a group of Year 8s with a Geography teacher as coach. There's no structure, no plan. A new coach needs to come in and sort this cluster fuck out. It is beyond belief that we've brought a manager in who can't do this himself.

He also needs to replace Mason as the "attacking coach" and bring someone in to help him drill the players properly. The most important part of Ange's style of play is in the final third and we're relying on a group of shit players and Ryan Mason as coach to execute it against the best defences in world football. His use of inverted wingers congest the middle of the pitch. This makes life hard for the central midfield as there's less room to operate due to the amount of bodies in that area of the pitch on both sides. That means that your midfield, fullbacks and front three need to be incredibly well drilled and talented to operate within the final third effectively. As of right now, no one has any fucking idea how to break down defences and deal with the lack of space.

It wouldn't surprise me if he's sacked. It's going to cost at least £200m net to turn us into the side that he wants and the players required probably wouldn't even come to us given how much of a banter club we have turned into. But this is ENIC we're talking about. If it's a choice between backing a manager in the transfer market or sacking him and bringing in someone with lower demands. We all know what Levy is going to do.

Sheesh, youth integration has been even worse than our set piece management.

You are factually correct but one admission you made is that we are the 4th youngest team in the league already.

A lot of the integration or lack thereof is probably a symptom of not enough games.

Need Europe and deeper runs in the cups so that Donnely, Moore, Dorrington etc. can see more game time.

Teams are not doing anything special against us, sitting deep or pressing high against us aren't novel ideas.

We just have to get better at dealing with it, Ange isn't wrong to focus on embedding his basic principles of play. If a team sits off, you have to move the ball quickly and be decisive when those tiny openings arrive. If a team presses high you need to be brave and play forward rather than play backwards and let them get on top of our keeper.

We are playing slow and sideways/backwards football against every team we face, that's never going to be effective. If we played every 90 minutes like we did the last 20 today, we'd beat most teams easily. Whether Ange can get them doing that is the question.
But we were 4 down and Liverpool weren't as bothered about scoring. It's meaningless playing well at 4 down

You can't just give someone a season. We could be down by Christmas.

He doesn’t deserve any

One trick pony at best in a lower league in Scotland
In classic ENIC fashion, could we have got better than Ange last summer? Most likely.

But, I do still believe he has something about him and could make us a very decent side if the correct players are brought in.

I mean genuinely mate, what is the alternative? Sack him and appoint Mason? Bring in another ex Chelsea big name manager in Tuchel and watch it all crash and burn again as we all know it will?

We’re in a continuous cycle with these fuckwits of owners in charge.

No manager will make us successful whilst they remain at the club.

If I was Levy right now I'd be using the last 3 games of this season to decide what to do.

If we don't finish 5th I reckon he gets rid. And I think he'd be justified. It could be a disaster backing this guy only for him to just get sacked by October anyway.

Ange will take us down. You don't just blindly give someone time and keep throwing money at them.
