You’re missing one important fact about Liverpool. They were so lucky that those financial dipsticks
from Barca came along with 140m for Coutinho. Ridiculous money. Credit to Liverpool that they spent it on 2 top players in positions they needed to improve .Without the Barca money Liverpool would not have reached the heights they did.
They spent well on those two players though, so credit there. Credit for Robertson too. Mac Allister has been a lot better than I thought he’d be. Salah, Firmino and Sane all superb signings over the years. Would take me too long to list the signings they’ve made that haven’t worked though.

In fact, those things I gave them credit for? Fuck that. They’re red scum.

I think it depends on the position. The less flashy the position, the more likely the player will flourish. CBs, Fullbacks and DMs tend to move house with ease.

It’s creative players and goal scorers that are far more risky. Personally, I wouldn’t go near Oshimen; I think the price is too high against the likelihood of him flopping.
Also on the tactic. Hopefully you are correct on this, as I think we are in most need of a brilliant DM and strong backup fullbacks.

We need to start being serious and stop using clubs who back their managers for comparison.
Honestly guys. It's just downright silly
klopp and arteta arent married to a system so much they will send their team out to die with 9 men. klopp and arteta will adapt to their opposition and circumstances. klopp had legit pedigree and arteta at least had experience of being peps sidekick in the best side in the world in this league. klopp and arteta wasnt worked out after 10 games and chucked up a pile of shit ever since. klopp and arteta wouldnt want johnson for 50m if their setup was designed for possession.

the making son captain was the first sign this guy dont really understand the game, the chelsea disgrace just completely confirmed it. then his recruitment for the front line when hes all about possession is just retarded.

Lets look at the bigger picture...

Villa have Emery
West Ham have Lopetegui
Newcastle have Howe...who completely outfoxed us

Thats before we get to the top clubs...

United probably getting Tuchel
Chelsea have Poch
City Guardiola

All of them are better than Ange. Only liverpool is an unknown quantity

What chance have we got with Ange against those teams that also back the manager?

8 of yesterdays starters were there before he came and 3 of the 4 subs that came on were there before he came, so out of 15 player/s 4 were signed by him. Slag the man if you like but at least get your facts right

Oh so Romero, Bentancur, Sarr, Kulu are all shite deadwood now are they? They all need replacing? all 8 players? Emerson was only playing because of injuries. You are bending the facts to protect Ange.

Those 8 players are pretty much all recent signings and are going nowhere. It's Ange's job to get them peforming.

Apart from Udogie, Ange has our strongest team starting, practically a season in with loads of time on the training ground, and he is serving this dross up where we are getting absolutely battered by our rivals.

Agree with this, I thought Ange made things difficult for himself because Son is on the way down and shouldn't be a guranteed starter in the medium to long term, and also, he's hardly inspiring is he.

I don’t think that’s true. He was very clear about wanting to win and about what it would take to win. He wanted Bastoni and he got Lenglet on loan.

If we had given him everything he wanted, and I mean EVERYTHING, he would have brought us success. He always delivers when he is fully backed. We gave him Perisic and then asked him to make do with “clever” signings like Spence, Bissouma and Lenglet. Then when it was too late we gave him Porro.

I didn't want Conte sacked just like I didn't particularly think Mourinho or Pochettino sacked.

But let's not re-write history about Conte. He said no and we got left with Nuno. Then he came when Levy dumped a massive wedge in his bank account. Did very very well - then refused to sign a new contract leading to all sorts of unwelcome speculation and a feeling that he was never really committed (and, yes, I take your point that Levy never really committed to him beyond the massive wedge he paid him)

You can spin it any way you want but a massive part of the reason the fans turned on Conte was his aloofness and his sense that he was doing us a favour. That's just fact - the rights or wrongs of it are by the by.

Of course a major part of the problem is a toxic fanbase who want to sack the manager at any sign of struggle.

We are seeing it happen again right now.

Didn’t Ange outfox Emery and Howe when we put 4 past both?
