No it’s not a fact because it’s not possible to know unless you try if there is any manager out there who is better or not than Postecoglou and the current club circumstances.

Hope that helps, broseph.

Let's try someone else, lets start the process again in the hope of the next person getting it right and if that doesn't work then what...?

We have exactly the same amount of points against "same" teams as last season. We have scored 3 more goals and conceded 9 less.

Nothing To See Here GIF by Giphy QA

Ange seems to save his displays of adaptability for City games. I would like to see him show this against other teams. Hopefully with Mickey out his hand is forced and he doesn't play the same high line with Drag.

There is nothing wrong with being a counter-attacking team in big games, especially away from home. It suits our forwards right now too.

A bit more solidity and nous is required against the big boys, not just blind devotion to suicide-ball.
Agree! I'd like to see us adopt the same game plan against Villa.

I’m not at the stage of defending them though . Even if I thought someone was slagging them off unfairly I would let it slide , I am way to petty like that

Nah I didn't say that though, I just said you've accepted the fact that they're here and you're at the it is what it is stage.

I think everyone just needs to come to terms with it really.

Ange's results are similar to those of Mourinho and Conte, without the CL place of course. But he is not likely to criticize the board as those men did when they were done and wanted to take their money and go.

Ange is lucky to be at this level of football and he knows that if he doesn't want to blow his chance he needs to tow the company line and hope this project pans out. I expect his run will be longer than Mourinho or Conte for that reason, even if results don't improve. Ange is not likely to be rebuffed by Levy on transfers and say "Who's that guy think he is, I've got plenty of money and I can get another job in the first division of a big league anytime I want, I don't need this".

Levy only moved against Mourinho and Conte when insubordination happened, the results being mediocre wasn't enough.

What did Jose say against the board?

LOL

Fans were booing players being subbed onto the pitch under Conte. You're conveniently forgetting just how toxic it was

You may be proven right. The one thing I would add is that he's not playing against EPL-quality teams with Celtic or Yokohama's players either, he has EPL level players too.
I don't fully understand you man. Are you saying Ange has EPL level now and didn't then? Not sure how that tracks. My point is simply a system may work under a given set of circumstances but simply may not work else where. Take one simple metric, I think the dispersal of quality forwards throughout the EPL means the chances factored in to 'Angeball' are too costly to be sustainable. He hasn't had a system that willing allows chances, tested by:Kudus, Embumo, Mateta, Vardy, Delap, Bowen, Welbeck in the shit teams. Before it's tested Salah, Saka, Watkins, Haaland, Nkuku over a 38 game season. I really really hope I'm wrong.

8th place. Fucking 8th.

The season is not over yet - no matter how many times you repeat where we are right now. 29 games to go.

Yeah I don’t care, making out it’s a good season so far when we sit in 8th place having lost 4 won 4 is a fucking laughable statement.

It’s been shit. With no sign of us gaining any consistency. We are already way off the pace for top four which should’ve been the minimum aim for a successful season.

We are not way off the pace - 5 points off 4th is nothing with 29 games to go when all the teams above us are dropping points every other game too

I think I can see where the faith being exhibited by the devotees falls down. What is the longest EPL run of wins under Postecoglou? If we could put together even four Epl wins in the post Chelsea period I think it would go a long way for me to prove direction of travel.

So here we are. Coming up to the 1/4 mark. I think a lot of people got PTSD from last season tbh. Last season after matchday 10 if you had told anyone we’d get less than 70 points and not finish top 4 you’d get abused.

A very different feel to this season.

What position do you think we will finish or how many points do you think we get?

Are you feeling confident of a top 5 finish? More points than last year?

You will never please everyone. This time last year we were top of the league, not in Europe and out of the cup. This year we sit in 8th, but have won all 3 European games and have just knocked City out of the cup.

The negative nancies will focus on us being in 8th and say they see no progress. The positive people will look at the fact that we have a big chance in 2 competitions now. I just checked Paddy Power and I see we are 7/2 to win the Europa League and 5/1 to win the EFL cup so we have a genuine chance of winning silverware this year. Maybe we shouldn't let the league position bother us for now?

We are fucking way off it. We don’t win big games against direct competitors. We haven’t even had a hard run of games or dealt much with injuries yet.

We are in the apex of an Ange season, where most players are fit and not tiring due to his style. And we are already a bit rubbish.

Let’s see how bad it gets when we are limping in to the final 1/3 of the season with injuries and multiple comps. We looked shattered with a game a week last season.
