The league table shows how competitive this league is. The top two will pull away and it’s a big fight for Europe. For us to be only 3 points off 3rd is fucking bonkers considering we’ve lost 5 games out of 11.

Exactly , everybody is taking points off others and losing when not expected .
But the simple solution is every manager moves to the team below them on the table and clubs just takes their chances with who they get .
Can will revisit in the New year and go again if necessary .
Absolutely NO one before today has lost to Ipswich ... So to 'expect' to isn't exactly being unrealistic!

Same as no one had lost to Palace before we sauntered into town with our stinking elitist attitude...

It's not like we're pissed off about losing away to City as and when we do... That IS expected, and even more likely now, given City's recent run of form!

We coulda been 3rd tonight with the way results went...
But that would merely be papering over the cracks, so maybe a blessing in disguise.

We're not even flat track bullies anymore, not after gifting Winless Palace and Ipswich their 'expected wins'!!

I hate how he treats Europa, (like most our recent managers tbf) Gala was a tough but exciting fixture, what's the point of even turning up for a game like that if you are going to make 6-8 changes and get completely outplayed most the game, just so we can rest players and still lose (for the 3rd time in a row now) on the sunday. I want to see our best team available played in every Europa game, start taking it seriously again, we should have been aiming for at least top 4 with qualification guaranteed by Christmas. He says he is a winner well what is stopping him from winning Europa? So we can rest players for the over hyped boring PL with the aim of finishing 4/5th. What a dream...

I don't think the loss today was down to Ange. With injuries, the only change he could have made was Davies for Drag.
Fact is, Drag is learning the game and Romero had his eye on the internationals.
Seems there is an issue with Madders as well.
I think we will be in the top 4 mix come January and probs doing well in the EL.
I think/hope Ange will be ruthless next window.

Jesus... Ange Cultists are funny...

Yeah... I mean... Ange only picks the team and is responsible for the tactics we play. He was the one who waited until 10 mins to go until making a sub. He insists on playing this dogshit naive system that any and every decent coach can counter easily.

But yeah...

Nothing to do with the manager... obviously...

i just saw vid of manu timeline after fergi and feels very similar with spurs like overpaid players not doing there job then manager gets sacked and get new manager everybody plays great then play shit agin manger get sacked n over n over

Its not this season. Last 39 league games since the great first 10 last season are now W17 D5 L17. Its the definition of mid table. This season we've had pretty comfortable fixtures to date, played Newcastle, Utd, West Ham at good times and we're 10th. Things about to get a whole lot tougher. I think talk of 4th is a bit of a fantasy at this point.
The health of the squad may be the difference. Every team has injuries, but we always seem to have a few more. I think we have a chance at top four but a lot will depend on Son staying healthy and Solanke getting in form.

Poch was sacked because the first team was playing crap.
Our first team is not playing crap.
In our last 5 league matches, we’ve lost 3-2 at Brighton after leading 0-2. We’ve handed the first and only wins of the season to Bottom 3 sides Crystal Palace and Ipswich. It is our worst start to a season over first 11 games since we were bottom in 2008/09.

That all adds up to playing crap in my book.

Yeah, it's the timeline BEFORE Fergie left that is where the comparison ends...

It's not like Ange has 15 years of relentless and multiple trophy wins to have to live up to, is it?

3 points away from 3rd tho....maybe things will turn hey? i mean theres been absolutely no sign in the last 12 months that things are going to get better! in actual fact the evidence points to the opposite. but we can blindly hope cant we?

i dont know how many ppl in here play hattrick the only game
but in that game you need to be very patience as to form a team or sale a player for over 10 million can take 2 years
i know it will never happen but iam at a point of thinking we would be better to just sale every player and play only with the youth 4 the next 3 to 4 years and at year 5 we will get to win the prem

The biggest issue for me is that we can play like we did against Man City and Aston Villa but produce the dross like against Palace and today .
For me it is all about mentality , from manager through to coaching staff and obviously the players .
For me it's mostly on the players , there is no way that the coaching staff set up to play so meekly .
The players showed no heart today and no passion in front of their own fans and that simply isn't good enough .
What's the answer , well plenty saying get rid of Ange , but does that really sort the problem , next bloke up has to solve the same issue , complacency . Sure Ange has to do things better , his subs today have me scratching my head .
It's a rot within the club , from the top down , no winners mentality .

They're not going to make a change in the international break.

However, what they should be doing is laying groundwork in case a change needs to be made eventually. Whoever they think would be an ideal candidate (God knows who they'd be thinking of), there should be some whispers going on in the background. We know it happens everywhere, we did it for months with Mourinho before we eventually brought him in.

If they're just keeping their fingers in their ears and saying we're all in, come what may. That is incompetence. They need to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
