It’s incredible where good PR and having personality in press conferences gets you these days. Imagine for a second ange had come from winning the Greek league with panathanikos but couldn’t speak a word of English and had us sitting in 10th. There wouldn’t be a single fan saying stick with him and the entire media would be saying he’s the worst manager since bla bla.
But because he talks a good game and the Scottish league is close to us geographically, it’s almost ignored that it’s no better than the Greek or Norwegian league for example and that any achievements in leagues like that mean absolutely nothing when managing in the best league in the world. On top of that the media and certain weirdos in our fanbase get excited by what he says in pressers rather than what they’re actually watching with their eyes on the pitch.
He’s had 18 months and 3 transfer windows and the only difference im seeing now from when he started is that the players are actually running for him less. There’s no improvement and no sign we will become consistent because ange has no clue how to change any of this, he’s managing a team in a league way above his or his back room staffs level.

If the Chavs turn us over badly he may not make it to the Rangers game IMO. The atmosphere was pretty hostile at the end of both the Fulham and Bournemouth games, can you imagine what it will be like if we get tonked 4-1?
It sounds like he's batting for the ownership, rather than the team. Which is why I'm doubtful he'll be sacked barring a calamitous fall into a relegation battle. Or defeat at Tamworth etc.
He's essentially being paid good money not to manage the team, but to take Levy's bullets

I do think this has improved a lot under Paratici and then Lange. Bergvall and Grey in particular are genuinely great prospects.
It's the recruitment of sufficient numbers of quality first team players that is still lacking.

Unless he feels like he's under massive pressure and gets really desperate I don't see him taking shots at Levy openly. There'll be subtle jabs here and there but that'll be it. He knows that he was a cheap option, his past accomplishments do not warrant him taking such a big job like this, and if it goes wrong here he won't get another shot at the top level. So he'll keep "grateful to be here" vibe till the very end. A manager with Ange's resume and Conte/Mourinho's attitude has zero appeal for Levy. And Ange knows it.
