Guess that win against the mighty Southampton will have given our resident football genius another stay of execution then. Happy to see us win, not so happy it means this muppet is likely to be in the hot seat come the new year.

Seems to be a pattern - three horrific performances in a row and then save your job with an away thrashing that convinces all the smooth brain cultists (Levy included) we've turned a corner. And all the while Spurs trudge along in yet another forgettable season.

Desperate to beat United personally—the Prem season is done but we can still win a trophy—but lose that and I think he'll see more problems with the fanbase. I remember being surprised at the level of anger at losing to Fulham last year despite it being in our "brilliant run" under Ange. People really want a cup.

Where have I said that? I'll help you answer that and save you the time looking, I haven't.

Maybe he's had one of the bigger budgets and maybe he's currently underperforming our wage bracket but he finished his 1st season above that wage bracket in 5th, which was better than the position he inherited and is in the process of gutting a squad and starting again. And how much of his budget was spent on players expected to be ready to help him win now?

We are 5 points off 5th and 6 points off 4th. We are 2nd for goals scored, 3rd for goals conceded, 3rd best goal difference in the league, and we are still in all the cup competitions. And finally, I enjoy watching us play. We've had some shit results and some inconsistent performances but the overall picture is worth sticking with. That is my defense of Ange. Criticism of Levynomics is a different topic.

Ange has little credit in the bank, you're right.

I still hope for a sustained improvement. Better results, and more coherent performances and consistency from players. I'd love to move back to "Ange in".

I think we do United this week. Just have a feeling. They really aren't great. And nor are we! Home advantage counts for a lot here.

Thursday is a huge game, he needs to win. A loss would be catostrophic to our season.
I agree with you, however you know full well even if we win this and somehow manage to get to the final and win that it will be "its just the League Cup, no other teams take it seriously" etc etc
Don't get me wrong I want us to win it, its just I know full well when we do win it, the narrative will change into us not winning anything significant!

We just need to win something. Not bothered what people say about the cup. There are a few hard teams left so this wont be easy.

Even though he scores all his goals arriving at the back post from the wing? And his second best attribute is 1st or 2nd touch crosses from the RW? And even though he's not an amazing presser, he's much better pressing from out wide instead of through the midd

Personally I would take all the responsibility of playing out wide away from him because he ain't that good at it and I would have him focus solely on being a "Fox in the Box" style of player. I think this would bring out his best attributes?

Has he been doing his ironing whilst he's supposed to be helping the team on the pitch?

because he's never been seen doing any other type of pressing.

😂

It’s not the CL or the premier league. It’s the 3rd rated cup. That’s a hard fact. Still hard to win though due to the strength of the premier league.

We’ve gone from Poch talking about wining the big trophies to Ange saying he wants to challenge for the title to “well another League cup win is better than nothing.”

I’m hopeful Amorim uses it for fringe players as he’s made it clear that the PL title is his ultimate ambition and the narrative is always that CL football is the minimum for a club like Manchester United.
Similar to how you expect to see Real Madrid in the competition. Not the Europa league.

That right there is the difference between the two clubs. We just don’t have that same level of expectation.

Ange came out and said Top 4 is not important last season. Imagine the uproar if the Real Madrid manager said that.
They would fight tooth and nail to be in that competition and then would be there to win it.

To paraphrase Poch. We’ve got the nice house but IKEA furniture at this moment in time. (Sorry Deki)

I took that to mean the thing matters to him is coming first, not finishing fourth.

In my humble there isn't one EL opponent better than mid level PL. Not one. Certainly they all should be beaten over two legs by a mostly fit Spurs team.

The final well they do often come down to a little luck one way or the other. Most certainly Spurs should be looking at making the final as a minimum. Ange would know this without doubt.

Which players are injured because of the way we play and the way we train?
It happened to Anges Squad at Celtic and its happening here -

The good news is it looks like he has realised maybe with the intensity of the PL and the way he plays \ trains some tweaks need to be made however from the big man himself -

"he acknowledged that given the intensity with which they train and play, injuries are unavoidable."

I think as well part of this comes from not having a Squad good enough but then look at the way Ange has played Porro into the ground and only now just started to give Spence a run out . I understand the Injuries are a part of the game but the Premier league is a long tough slog, made even worse by being in Europa and all the cups still, squad management needs to be better if we are to win anything!
