Me. It is my opinion, and one I feel time will look back on as being accurate.

And I am not for one second coming from a 'grass greener... be careful what you wish for' speech angle. ENIC should have been ousted the moment they tweeted we'd joined Super League.

But IMO this is who we are, and who we will remain.
New owners with a new approach might win us a cup here or there, and that makes them instantly better than ENIC.

But we will not for the foreseeable future get anywhere near being consistent title challengers, regardless of ownership.
Klopp won just 1 because we have a club that cheats, and if they get off in March or get a soft penalty they'll be able to continue destroying the premier league for years to come.
The grass may not be greener on the other side.

But it has an equal, if not higher chance of being greener.

25 years of mediocrity, No other owners have lasted this long and some have done more.

The games they are talking about are from the 21st of December to the 1st of January.

And Brentford play Woolwich on the 1st. The only game that day.
As they play that day their previous games are not on Boxing Day so they both play on the Friday 27th instead.

What they omit on that tweet (for the clicks) is that the next league game - game 4 so to speak - is on Saturday the 4th January.
So spurs will get a full 5 days with no matches between Monday 30th and Friday the 3rd. So 120 hours “rest”, while Woolwich and Brentford only get 2 days “rest”.
Also we have 3 home matches out of those 4 fixtures.

Swings and roundabouts my good man.

No idea why only 1 game is on the telly on NYD. Just don’t show any matches at all. Bloody tv companies.
Fair enough.

Was wrong about that.

It’s the only game being played on New Year’s Day.

Change owners and nothing will change. We'll still be the club finishing 4th-7th and exiting cup competitions after 2-3 ties.
A new owner will not propel us past the likes of City and Chelsea who have financially doped the league, nor will it take us past Liverpool and United (if they ever were to be run as they should be again).
Of course it will change. Could it get worse ? Yeah it could , but it could get a hell of a lot better aswell. And if you are right and nothing changes, then we’ve lost nothing have we .

I think most fans just want owners that are going to make the team the priority. Go that extra yard to get the manager the player that he actually wants rather than giving him a third or 4th choice. An owner that will inject some enthusiasm and energy into the club. It doesn’t have to even be about money. Just someone that actually gives off the vibe that they care , can blow away a dark cloud over a club. And boy is th cloud dark over this club

Well Haaland as you say has/will cost City far more than Solanke cost Spurs.
Same goes for so many of the players our rivals sign for "similar" fees and the real reason I fucking hate people citing the net spend chart as a reason we do spend.

Arseholes up the road spend around £60,000,000 a year more than us on wages.
Who cares if we spent £5m more than them one summer on fees. (I made that up, I don't know if we did or by how much)

Yeah the wages need to be taken into consideration for each player when making an assessment for overall spends. Not just the sign on free.

Lol - mate if we were spending 30m a year in wages on Jesus & Havertz people would be puking themselves into a coma.

There is a lot that has to be taken into consideration -

You have to go look at the individual amounts for each player and how long they have been at the club -

So lets look at Liverpool, which i think is a comparable team in terms of average wages for players when they sign right now - they are reportedly spending around 14 million more on their squad than we are a year. 30 million a year on Salah and VDV who are being rewarded for their loyalty and to keep them there for as long as they have.

They don't sign players for anywhere near that value - Diaz is on around 60k a week for example. Archie Gray is on more.

So when Salah and VDV leave they are not going to be paying 250k-350k a week for new players - they never have done and there is no reason to think they will.... so if they were even to bring in two replacements for 150k a week each they would have the same wage bill pretty much as us.

I think Son is on £190,000 pw. I doubt we'll be spending that on a replacement when he leaves.

Richarlison and Solanke are on about £90,000 pw, which I assume is what we'll pay for a new attacker as in someone that is already established in the game that our leaders think is good. I doubt we'd pay £150.000 per week for a new player, as you stated for Liverpool.
