You guys dreaming of trophies will never be happy. We are not in a position to win anything, and will not be getting into such a position anytime soon. With or without Postecoglou.

We were getting there, a while back. When Poch was doing his magic. Until people started demanding silverware, instead of letting the club build stone by stone.

Now we are in a position where we need to re-build. Kane is out. Son is done. We have renewed most of the team over the last two-three seasons, and we need to keep building. We are a few pieces from a good enough squad still.

Some of your criticise spending money on youth. I completely disagree. That is the way to build something. Get the great prospects in. And give them opportunities to play.

We all know how Bale did in his early days. Modric needed time. Most players do. Let's treat this as a season of transition. There might be more.

But while in transition, give the team support. Help build, instead of tearing it down while under construction.

Is Ange our guy? To me, he's got a lot of things right.

I love that he's playing attacking football. Football is entertainment. Football should be fun. With a Mourinho or Conte it is barely fun when we win. With Ange games are entertaining even when we lose. To dare is to do.

I love that he sticks to plan A, and to the idea that if plan A fails you do plan A better. If Poch did that, we could've actually gotten somewhere. Instead he started being pragmatic, which turned our football from being awesome entertainment and dominant against mid and bottom table teams to becoming somewhat efficient against better sides but slow and inefficient against weaker teams.

I like what he's doing. Give him time!

It's not my job to know who is available, or pick the next manager. If it was up to the fans we'd never have hired Poch back in 2014 or whenever it was.

The fact you keep trying to make this a gotcha about who we should hire isn't exactly the resounding defence of Ange you think it is

Dude it's not a job lol, it's not that serious, merely a debate - we're on a forum discussing the manager and potentially the next one.

It's not really a gotcha, if you can't answer the question then fine, ultimately my point is that I want to get people to think rationally because sacking the manager is easy...replace him though...

There's more attention at Spurs compared to Bournemouth which puts the manager under more pressure that they have to handle. It makes the job a lot harder than Bournemouth.

Ange is under pressure and I think he even admitted to feeling it. I don't think fans would be content with top 6 either.
And there’s more attention on spurs than at Southampton didn’t stop Poch from making an instant impact.

To think no manager can do better than ange is just insane.

Tell me a viable alternative who will come in right now unless you want Ryan Mason ball, tell me how would be any less of a laughing stock with him in charge...again

I hate to break it ti you but we've been a 'banter club' for years.

There has to be some caretaker option who can come in and steady a ship for Iraola. Someone who can get us in to the top 8 at least or something man, if we're anything like this over the next 4-5 games we'll be marooned in the bottom half of the table FFS.

I'd take a Terzic too at this point.

61,439 punters turned up and only a tiny few are unhappy with Ange-ball.
They stayed and sang until the end.
We have 3 cups to go for and many EPL games against teams that ain't the best in the world.
It's gonna be a fun ride for 95%+ of fans, and, as for the other less than 5%-fuck ''em!

Ange's dumb tactics have also cost Micky multiple injuries. He was so crucial in covering up Ange's tactical flaws, but it really took a toll on him. Without the fastest player in the league as your last man, Angeball doesn't seem to be that effective.. LOL

This is the problem, not many people do either.
I don't know what the process is when a club decides a manager, but it looks like the success of a manager is mostly just down to luck.

I said I like Silva but there could be some external circumstances that would cause him to fail here.

You mentioned Irola but he nearly got sacked early on. If he got unlucky and lost the game when his job was on the line he could've been another De Boer.

I think we're just going to have go back to our seats and buckle the seat belts until we get through the turbulence.
Through? We are the turbulence, my friend!

This isn't going to suddenly stop when Yang comes in and VDV is sprinting about again. It doesn't stop when we have another summer window where we get a Lange-forged mish-mash of a high quality player and a Kentucky bargain bucket brigade of prospects. This is the Premier League, this is what Ange is, this is who we are, and I have seen nothing since those first 10 games to suggest otherwise. A chaotic entertaining whirlwind but close to bugger all chance of cigars.

He's had time and we've been getting progressively worse for 12 months. Sometimes you can see things happening and a manager earns that extra time, there is nothing happening under this clown other than increasingly regular humiliations.

Ange in 100%

I don't care if we end up trophyless and in midtable by the end of the season

This club needs a proper shake up in the boardroom, not on the pitch

I'm prepared to back the manager and the players through these difficult times.

All the Ange haters are fully entitled to feel as they do and demand a change. It is what it is.

And this is the reason we go nowhere as a club don't always blame levy blame the fans for falling for the crap every time. Worst manager in 15 years and somehow we want him to stay where was conte support or Jose he'll even nuno was better

Where did I say I wanted Ryan mason?
Behave yourself. I’d take a competent championship manager over this obnoxious fool.

Just watched his usual sniggering condescending post match interview too. I can’t stand the sight of him anymore

You didn't but you're refusing to name anyone so I just thought I'd throw it at you.

You'd want a competent Championship manager, what does that look like? Would you sack Ange for Michael Carrick or Daniel Farke or Scotty Parker right now then, what do you think they're doing differently at the moment? What makes you think they can go from managing every 7 days in the Championship to taking over a club with high expectations, playing every 3 days, already wedded to a style of play with a host of injuries managing a club under this regime? Why do you think it's that easy? What makes you think you can just copy and paste someone into the role without any other teething problems?

Did you take any of that into consideration? ^

I don't know.

I like what Marco Silva has been doing this season but I have no idea if that means he'll do good here.

I don't watch enough of other teams to have a good idea of who would be a good fit.

It took him over two years to get them playing even close to how they are now.

Not saying I don't like what he is doing but is he someone you're willing to give that much time to?

About time. Since March/April its been like living in a different world with the reality of what we have been seeing not matching the narrative in the media (and fanbase). I mean going back to the spring we've lost 14 of our last 28 league games, winning only 11. Unbelievably shit.
I want to thank you Sir Archibald Crooks Sir Archibald Crooks kingdawson kingdawson Cranston Cranston you see clearly what has happened and have tried in the face just insane denial to calmly point it out. You have exhibited much more patience than me not resorted to cursing people out.

But its increasingly odd that every time the man is exposed the cultist double down. They focus on Levy or injuries and are willfully blind to the football we have played exacerbated the injury issues. That the tactical nativity is being brutally exposed by any semi competent coach. Then they say no one can replace him when the reality is anyone could. You guys remind me of the Orwell axiom

"There was truth and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad.” - George Orwell, 1984

Excellent post.

I understand why some people feel like a new manager would bring them some hope but they only need to look at Amorim for UTD to understand that the issues won't go away because you change a manager.

If the club has committed to really going balls out attack, then they need to really commit and not only see out the season but bring in some better attackers and a defender in January.

The best thing Postecoglou could do just now is something he won't do, and that is to maintain his attacking style but dial back on a some parts of the system until he can get Romero and van de vyn. The post match interview today was hard to watch. When the reporter suggested that perhaps some adjustments need to be made, Postecoglou was having none of it.

You’ve said time and time and time again you don’t care about the league, that finishing 4th is the same as finishing 16th. That if we don’t win anything the league is pointless unless you win it. You started a thread asking if being relegated would be worth it if it meant a change of ownership.

You go from thread to thread telling people you don’t care and asking who does? I do. I fucking do.

I’m a spurs fan, I want Spurs to win every game, I want us to finish as high in the league as possible, I want to play in the champions league, I want to win the FA Cup, the league cup, I want to win whatever European cup were in. I care!

You don’t care about the league, but I do, because the lower we finish the more good players we lose and the more mediocre ones we get in turn, and then we drop and drop and drop.

Yes I’d love to win a trophy, and I know you get more joy out of the cup competitions, there’s absolutely zero reason we can’t do both. Do I think we’re close to winning the league? We are not even on the same universe as the teams trying to win the league but there’s no reason we can’t look to do well on the league and the cups. If we get champions league football, do we win a cup? No. But at least we can attract some players who want to play at that level, and those players, they might finally get us over the line in one of the cups. If we don’t care about the league because “whats the point” we finish lower, we get shitter, we continue winning nothing. If you don’t believe we can win anything ever, and you can’t be motivated to want this team to do well in ALL competitions then why bother? I wouldn’t blame you for being burnt out with it all, but if you are, go support your local lower league club.

Who cares? I care.

I want us to win the league. I want us to not be a banter club.

Every season I'll start it saying we have a chance to win it because I can't bring myself to take an interest in something we can't win.

I see where you are coming from and I can see why you'd find my posts annoying so let me try and explain where I'm coming from.

I'm bored to tears with being the banter club and for me not giving a shit is the only choice I have other than just not watching football anymore. I've already stopped spending money on English football.

So, this is what I do.... I'm all out for believing we can win something i.e. the league or the cup or the Europa, until it's obvious to me that we can't. At that point, I completely lose interest in the competition we can't win. I'm even annoyed at myself for watching other prem games whilst I was in bed with the flu recently. I just don't feel like giving the competition my time anymore.

Right now we can still win the Cups and Europa so I'm interested in them.

I wrote the relegation ownership change thread because changing owners is really the last hope any Spurs fan has of something changing and us not being the banter club anymore. Something different needs to happen for this to all be worth the time and effort.

Iraola moved to Bournmouth the same summer Ange came here.......if Levy goes now goes for Iraola it again illustrates what a thick numpty is running this football club.

You could make the argument about anyone really.

I don't know what your stance is on the manager but do you want him gone? If things like this carry on until the end of the season do you want him to stay? Are you going to be thinking there's no-one out there just because they may not be the answer?

Man, Ange wasted 50 m on BJ. He didn't play Spence all season until every other option was gone. He's been playing BJ throughout the season, and I'm convinced he's starting again next game.

He's refused to drop Romero despite Romero fucking up over and over this season. You must drop a player making so many mistakes. If not, what do you communicate to the other players?

He's made too many mistakes. He must go.
