and someone actually agreed to this post, we really are a cuck fanbase.

City had 23 fucking shots against us to our 9. We were just ridiculously clinical.

Today Liverpool had 24 fucking shots away from home to our 9 and an expected goals ratio of 4.60. They missed around 5 other easy chances after scoring SIX.

"the beating we gave City was much worse than this". People literally just say shit just to say it.

Ha, it was me clicking on it by mistake 😂

Today we were as open as it is possible to be. Like someone said earlier, it was like watching a dad coach his son’s football team. Just clueless.

"It's just who we are, mate."

Defending is overrated

Interesting thing to me is that while he says all those things about being brave, being always who we are, play risky cocky football etc - he is totally gutless and risk averse when it comes to personel decisions.

carragher was ripping into him. he said that slot was actually taking the piss out of ange in his presser and people took it as him complimenting him. i havent watched it but i actually like carragher, hes calling out ange for what he is. i always thought that the neutrals always hid from talking about the problems at spurs but to be fair to carragher he calls it out.
Why would slot do that, it very disrespectful

Ok he leaves and then we have someone worse who doesn’t even be brave like Ange with how we play. We like an ugly girl at the ball and saying we don’t want to dance with Ange because he going bald. Then we go sit in the dark and get fiddled by Mr Southgate

I can't be the only one who thinks you are trolling. You have got a few in the net though, well done I suppose.

Ifs and buts

We won by 4, today we lost by 3. Objectively speaking it was a bigger win. I doubt their XG and shot count made the battering feel any better for City fans.

If we lost 4-0 today and I was sitting here saying but we had more shots, I doubt anyone would give a fuck.

Btw, i wouldn't go round calling other people cucks mate. The only bloke I've ever know in person to call people cucks.... well, I'll let you fill in the blanks.

If Ange were available, would he ever be considered for the Liverpool, Chelsea, Man United, Woolwich, Man City job. I think the answer is a hard no. Bragging about not having a plan B is him celebrating his own ignorance. Serious teams don't suffer a high volume of heavy defeats, serious teams don't ship the volume of goals we do. Its going to be another season of shipping 60+ goals in the league.

There is no end game with Ange, no final phase, this is it.

He deserves a crack at the Leafue Cup, so no sacking him now. But its hard to see him being our manager next season.

The play that let the air out of the balloon was the 3rd Liverpool goal in stoppage time just before the half. Twenty-one seconds into just two minutes of stoppage time and Spurs high line is way up the field. Looked at from the standpoint of risk/reward, the risk of giving up a goal from that position is much higher than the possibility of getting a goal against a strong Liverpool defense in the next 99 seconds. Spurs took the chance and what happened? The ball gets turned over and Liverpool breaks out four on two with Spurs defenders caught up field. Liverpool gets the goal and instead of going into the half down just 2-1 with a chance to regroup, Spurs go in down 2. If you're five minutes before the half that's one thing, but we're talking about the half almost being over. Does it make sense not to see the half out at that point?

Billy,

How can Ange put Archie in that sort of situation? He gives the team absolutely zero support and places absurd demands upon them.

We could have set up like Poch used to do against City. You have Dragusin, who’s a bit of a tank but ok in the air. Have a flat back 4 and surrender the flanks, but pack the middle of our box. Make sure they can’t play through us. You then roll the dice and, basically, ride your luck with crosses.

You then have Maddison sit alongside Biss and tell Son and Kulu that the moment we win the ball back, they have to be ready to go. Sarr is given free range to foul anyone and everyone and break up play. Tell Solanke the games going to suck but he just has to occupy their CBs.

We can’t go head to head with Liverpool. It’s fucking stupid.

Why is he allowed to be so inflexible? And if he is, seriously, what’s the point of him?
I'm not debating anything you're saying. Different people look at the game differently and plan differently.

Personally, in general I prefer Ange's approach to that of Jose or Conte.

What I don't understand is why everyone is so shocked he set us up like that. He literally tells us every week. We all knew what today's game was gonna be like. It depended on us playing an awesome game and Liverpool being a bit off it.

He is on a path that he believes will be successful. He has said it time and time again. He's clearly thinking long term and lots of people hate it because it's been 18 months and we seem behind where we started.

I just don't happen to think anything will be done until the end of the season, where our position will be assessed. It definitely won't be knee-jerked after a loss to Liverpool.

I do think there is a lot of pressure on the Forest game now though. If we don't turn up there and lose, despite where Forest are in the table, even more will start getting twitchy.

You can excuse defeats and bumps in the road if you're seeing genuine progress on the pitch. We can be top 5 in all the metrics we want, but we are 11th in the league, and we see our defence make the same mistakes time after time after time.

I don't think it's an exaggeration to say Liverpool could've run up 10 today if they really wanted to. They missed a lot of big chances and they cut through us time and time and time again. Injuries or not, we are not learning lessons defensively, and there imo is clear evidence that we just aren't being coached in that respect. How many goals have we conceded this year from crosses on our left to two guys unmarked on the right side of our box? There are endemic issues there that are not being fixed. Today as an example. If you have players that physically cannot play a high line as they are too slow and are being constantly exposed, don't play a fucking high line and sit a bit deeper. It's not abandoning your principles, it's being a bit savvy.

I respect that Ange has the way he wants to play, and that the players need to do much more. I'm desperate for it to work with him, I think he's a really likeable guy and I'd love him to have success at the club for a long period. But I don't see it happening. We are 11th halfway through the season, and performances aren't improving. You can only blame bad luck so much.
