It's exactly as if you test two students, one spends the time studying, digesting, and understanding the material and answers perfect questions with confidence and face up. The other has no clue and only remembers few buzz words heard during class and trying to put together a sentence using these words. Ask about tactics he cannot explain them except saying "that's our style mate" because he does not have the deep knowledge of it and cannot elaborate, ask whether a change would be needed for certain situations, and he answer "we do not change mate" because he does know it to begin with in order for him to change it. He keeps hiding behind, injuries, poor bench, youngsters, etc.
Lol...I hadn't seen this. This is fucking brutal. Here's what Levy refused to pay the compensation for and got us lunch lady Doris. How can the mugs banging on about Celtic and Yokohama not see how out his depth he is. This video is painful.

Yeah this is basically it. Neutrals probably loved the Chelsea and Liverpool games. Hilarious fun. Can’t say I enjoyed it. Can’t say I felt like we even put together much sexy football. Couple of moments was about it. The majority of it was painful.

Entertainment is subjective I guess. If some of our fans are entertained by this then have at it. But the citing of dramatic quotes as if we’re playing football in some purist fashion but just not getting results feels dishonest at best.

I've genuinely enjoyed every Ropey League game BUT I expect chaos in those games and always have and always loved it - I genuinely found Europe drab and boring under Conte and Mou. But I think that's because Ropey and Conference aren't "big boy" leagues.

But in the league you do need a sense of purpose beyond chaos for sure. We didn't get beat by Palace or Ipswich because it was an entertaining shootout that could've gone either way. Nothing entertaining about those performances.

I’d agree with the exception of Rangers. I thought that was mostly hot dog shit. Not even chaotic, just them being objectively better than us for most of a match. Then like 10 minutes of us deciding to turn up and then back to them being better again.

Add to that Fulham, Bournemouth etc where we just got straight up outplayed with very little entertainment on our side.

Post injuries I can buy the arguments - we were playing nice stuff but it wasn’t working results wise. Post injuries the results suck and there’s very little entertainment bar the odd game.

that's true. entertainment is subjective. Not just the 'tactics';) but the off field entertainment package of cabaret cover songs with spurs references wedged in, the 'free from desire' sing-along a dance off (which was played at Stamford Bridge after losing there last season), the squid thing... man, it's getting tedious...but that's subjective.:dude: Ange the Musical, coming soon to a Shaftesbury theatre near you.

Said he was punting the crapola not that he had written the crapola. Hope that helps. People's comprehension is shocking.

noun: punt; plural noun: punts
1.
a bet or gamble. Speculate
"many investors will take a punt on the chance that the shares will recover"
You said the club punted it through their mouthpiece.

Are you now suggesting the club told Ali Gold to retweet that story?

Mate we are very entertaining for everyone else.
Even that isn't true anymore. A mate of mine who doesn't support Tottenham but watches football said to me the other day he finds watching us play 'exhausting'. We're a freak show but not a good proposition for a connoisseur. Turning into a circus with 60000 seats, Squid Games and whatnot other entertainment

Why do they keep hiding behind Celtic SPL is lower internationally ranked league than Japan. Ange took a step backwards going there. It's ridiculous the fantasy these deniers wrap themselves in.

Because there is a Eurocentric perspective that pervades European club fan forums, that's why.

No sooner had anyone said "Look how good his Yokohama were", there'd be an avalanche of comments deriding the J_league- even though the Japanese NT handed Europe's two biggest heavyweights of the last decade in Spain and Germany their arses in the same World Cup. ( The excuses came in thick and fast about how those Spanish and German squads weren't all that good anyway, although I'm willing to bet if England beat both of them in the same World Cup, they wouldn't be saying that!)

Oh, I'm of the opinion that Postecoglou should go-he hasn't been able to impart his playing style on this group, and that's ultimately on him.

Before immediately going out to Croatia.

Spain also immediately going out to Morocco.

Achieving one off great results is very different to consistent success. The furthest Japan have ever gotten in a World Cup is the round of 16.

Soooo we’ve upgraded loads of the squad but fallen to 11th.

No reasonable person could argue that the results are not acceptable right now.

What is arguable is there are mitigating circumstances eg injuries and suspensions to numerous key players, diabolical individual players mistakes affecting the result, but then there is his inability to manage games when in the lead, his refusal to adjust as circumstance dictate, his player non-selection eg Spence, his refusing to adjust to counter the strengths of the opposition etc.

You guys can’t have it both ways. Personally, there’s zero chance he ‘identified’ Bergvall or Gray for example. That isn’t his role. It isn’t any coaches role in 2024.

He's already said he's given a list of players from the scouting department and has the final say. No great mystery there.

And? Croatia' last two World Cup finishes were second and third place....

The real point is not what Japan has achieved in the past when Postecoglou wasn't in Japan because that has no bearing on the quality of the league when he won it. When he did win the J-League, it produced players good enough to beat both Germany AND Spain who basically dominated World Football in the last decade. Its not a mugs league. His result taking a mid-table club to win the J-League was impressive. He is revered by the club.

Don’t be silly mate, they don’t have tactics in Japan, anyone could win that league whenever they want.

Anyone other than Arsene Wenger that is, who was there 2 years and the highest he finished was 2nd.

Squad Value 2024

===========
4. Tottenham – £728million
5. Woolwich – £720million
6. Liverpool – £664million
7. Newcastle United – £565million
8. West Ham United – £428million
9. Aston Villa – £416million
10. Everton – £360million
11. Nottingham Forest – £317million

we have regressed & gone backwards now.
when the concensus are we MIGHT lose to a lowly Forest on Boxing Day 2024 - no one would have believed it at the start of the season.

We weren’t entertaining against Liverpool (unless you’re a Liverpool fan) and we haven’t been entertaining at all recently so I find all this weird let’s pretend we’re sacrificing results for entertainment malarkey a bit of a head scratcher.

I guess it’s easier than justifying being a bit rubbish AND hard to watch. Which, for like 85 of the 90 minutes, we were.
Have agree. All the neutrals love the entertainers because they win fuck all and arent a threat. You can play good football and still have a bit of pragmatism. As somwone said earlier im sure Blanchflower meant winning playing good football not win bothing being suicidal
