We need Xabi Alonso or Nagelsmann to get even the slightest hope of success at this club but Levy could never persuade them
Alonso is a complete pipe dream. His road ends with his appointment at Madrid, he's not going to accept an appointment that endangers that.

I think Nagelsmann is getable, contrary to what some think, because he's already had high profile failure and needs a bit of a rehab to get considered for tip top jobs again.

But I think it's Potter, Silva, or Iraola honestly.

Yeah agree and on the basis of what I've seen would be happy with any of them.

I do think Nagelsmann would turn us down, sadly. Iraola might think twice.

Going back to 3 CBs will require significant investment at that position.

I wouldn't be against it, but I think we'd have to buy 3 CBs in the next 13 months.
We have Vuskovic coming over in the summer that can take a bench/cup role as he settles in and becomes homegrown. Philips as well possibly. So let's say two cbs and Luka coming in. That's doable. Especially if neither Romero or VDV goes.

But Potter isn't wedded to the 3 at the back either. He's done the 4-3-3 as well and the 4-5-1.

Hes taken 4pts in 18.

With Newcastle, Liverpool and Woolwich next.
This is fucking chilling. I think half the people pretending we have to keep Ange for whatever reason don't really care. They don't go to games have never seen us win trophies. Spurs hasn't been part of their life. It's just a fun online pass time like an extension of fantasy football.

That's fine it's cool, I'm not judging but I've given thousands to this team. I've been up and down the country and all over Europe. I've worked for the club four years ago ( and I was stupidly proud). Nutter-Naylor Nutter-Naylor Mrs Perryman Mrs Perryman Murphy Murphy Bazali Bazali Cranston Cranston SpaggyBoy SpaggyBoy there's loads of us been committed to Spurs in a real and lived way for decades. We genuinely hurt watching this children's football.

I don't expect massive budgets and billions on players but I expect competence. And I'm telling anyone that genuinely cares that competence is beyond this coach and his assistants. Standards are so low now that there's people think we can't do better, when short term that's the easiest bit to correct. But don't dig out anyone who wants him gone immediately in whatever way possible because we earned the right to speak the truth.

I remember when Harry Redknapp took us into a knockout tie with AC Milan, at the San Siro.

Woodgate, perennially injured, on the bench. Modric on the bench too. Niko Kranjcar dropped to the bench, Pienaar given the start. Sandro and Palacios together in midfield.

You think Ange would drop Kranjcar for Pienaar and leave Modric on the bench in favour of grafters to get a chance at a result?

Every coach has injuries, you have to make the best of what you have got. Ange ain't doing it, he isn't the man for this job.

AVB had solid tactics and was working through a massive tactical transition and cultural squad overhaul. Without AVB, Poch doesn't have success as quickly as he did.

Poch was the best manager hire we ever made, because we found someone that did a lot of the same things as AVB tactically, but added what was missing. It showed foresight and planning.

We need the same sort of appointment now.
Agree- Poch had actual leadership qualities and a galvanizing effect on team morale. But AVB and his tactics did not differ all that much.

yea they are fucking idiots then, but to be fair 99% of them pundits are scared to say anything they think might be controversial. it looks like the scum will finish this clown off.
Couldnt believe what i was hearing tbh. Ange record is appalling. Out of depth unfortunately with just one style of tactics. It may work in japan or SPL but the premier league is the pinnacle. Nothing against the bloke but this is unacceptable whats going on.

Exactly what Spurs fans hounded Nuno is exactly what he used to take the living piss out of us tonight.

Exactly whatever it is the top yids on here think they need now, is exactly the reason we will get battered by the next trend away from that.

That is the cycle we are in.

He got hounded out because we were boring, shit to watch and he had zero charisma. He wasn't a manager of a big club. He can over achieve with a middling team doing tactics fans of top clubs won't tolerate. He had an identity crisis here and had no idea what he wanted to do, we were neither offensive or defensive in nature.

We don't need to be a defensive side. That's not what anybody fucking wants. We're not even a good attacking team right now so this style vs style nonsense is irrelevant talk - we're just an incompetent jumbled mess of a football team. Nothing is working.
