That isn't even what happened mate. It's way worse. The bloke was a patsy. He was told Not to play his preferred system. I was told he laid out what he wanted to do and Paratici told him directly no.

So he tried to accommodate the brief he was given and fell between it and what his method was. He had the most interference in team matters of any previous coach and because he wanted the job he took it. Meanwhile Paratici was waiting on Conte so he didn't really want Nuno to be too successful anyway.

It was a mess from beginning to end, but NES is still a better coach and tactician than the one we have. My partner who is an Italian says the Conte Paratici tango with Nuno in the middel is the kind of political manoeuvring that her country is renowned for. It's was brutal on Nuno so he was kind of owed today's,payback.

Yeah tbf I was unfair on him - was less an identity crisis and him specifically being told you need to play this style. Which is absolutely fucking mental.

It was never going to work here for Nuno. A panic hire because we couldn't get Conte who was tossed aside. Treated horrendously by our board and I bet he got a lot of fucking satisfaction out of beating us. Good bloke, never somebody who the fans could really get behind but he's perfect for Forest.

Yeah agree and on the basis of what I've seen would be happy with any of them.

I do think Nagelsmann would turn us down, sadly. Iraola might think twice.
I think the fact that none of the other PL clubs with larger budgets look likely to replace a manager in the next 24 months (notwithstanding United, obviously) makes it hard for most managers to turn us down. None of those named want to be in their jobs in 2026 - if they are, they're more likely to see it turn sour, get sacked, and have to move down the food chain, not up.

Nagelsmann would definitely turn us down, can't imagine any manager would turn down the opportunity to manage their nation at the WC, particularly a nation which could certainly win. Can't imagine he'd give that opportunity up for anyone aside from City or Madrid and he'd be thinking very hard on those.

Meh, Romero is 100% off in the summer ( we aren't playing european football next season) so I really don't see the point in planning for a back 3.

In no world is Dragusin worth forcing in to a team anyway. Guy is limited on the ball and not quick, the antithesis of what most elite sides want.
Is Romero getting a better move in the summer? No doubt he would want to leave, but I doubt there's Madrid interest anymore.

Alonso is a complete pipe dream. His road ends with his appointment at Madrid, he's not going to accept an appointment that endangers that.

I think Nagelsmann is getable, contrary to what some think, because he's already had high profile failure and needs a bit of a rehab to get considered for tip top jobs again.

But I think it's Potter, Silva, or Iraola honestly.
Nagelsmann is a pipe dream under these owners as well mate.

None of those 3 you mentioned last longer than 18 months here. I hope for Iraolas sake he swerves the Levy conveyor belt

How has he still got support from fans?

Fuck Ange. Fuck Levy. Fuck Lange.

But above all of that, fuck this purgatory cycle of nothing we are in. If you think that cycle is caused by the manager or solved by finding a new one then you are off your tits.

He's a crap football manager. So many decisions of his are bad. You seem to have decided that because the cycle is a thing and because we have fundamental issues at board level, we can't also focus criticism on the coach. Many coaches have done better here under the same circumstances.

Of course the board are shit but they aren't going anywhere today or tomorrow. This guy is dragging us way below our natural level, even considering the guys at board level.

He's gone mate. He basically publicly said fuck you to the board. I think his contract is ticking as well, a stroppy, angry South American being forced to stay at the club isn't good for anybody. May not be Madrid anymore but I'm sure someone reasonably sized would take him - his rep on the continent is likely very good.

People really need to look at us without the ball. Absolutely all over the place. No width to switch the play and stretch teams. It is just pure chaos once we lose the ball in the final 3rd or try to press in what seems a very uncoordinated manner. It's getting worse by the week and the improvement has not been coming which is what we was told would happen in his 2nd season by those protecting him last year. I've seen enough It's time to end this charade (which should of been ended after chelsea) and move on to someone more competent.

Let's be honest

Craggy Island Rovers would be a step up from us right now

I never understand why some fans feel this emotional attachment to managers that they do not feel towards any other personnel of the club, including players themselves.

They have no problem asking for a total overhaul of the squad, demanding this or that player to be gone ASAP. They don't worry about who would replace these players. They don't feel any sort of guilt over asking for a "player-merry-go-round" . They don't see any virtue in sticking with players that are vastly underperforming. It's the polar opposite of the attitude they take towards managers. Even towards the ones like Ange who never achieved anything to earn that kind of 'loyalty'.

It would make sense for, let's say, a United fan to be especially lenient towards managers because they have fond memories of one man managing the club for decades. But other than that, what's the point? What's the point of choosing a guy that you probably didn't even know existed 1.5 years ago as your hill to die on?

We look like we've had tactics coached out of us.
We're pathetic.
