Think Levy will let the fans down again and try and scapegoat the manager.
Spot on.Yeah I don't get it with Ange. Somehow he has this happy chappy image when he's mostly a miserable cunt in interviews and pressers.
I also find it a bit cringey that he gets to experiment with his kamikaze brand of football in England at our expense. It's very small time. No other "big" club would tolerate this mess.
His interview after United, "Are you not entertained?" and all that bollocks was embarrassing after only being saved from yet another complete collapse by a freak goal direct from a corner.
My biggest gripe is his stubborness and that is ultimately what will get him sacked. Yes we have had terrible luck with injuries but a better manager gets us more points on the board by adapting to the players at his disposal.
Is excactly what will happenThink Levy will let the fans down again and try and scapegoat the manager.
Are you seriously telling me that had we been more conservative against Liverpool it wouldn’t have made a difference? They could have scored 11 goals. They tore us apart without even trying. We may well have lost still, but we wouldn’t have conceded 6 goals.I’m not sure a different approach would have helped with the defence in the state it’s in. Seems easy to believe that in hindsight.
As it's happened umpteen times before...only in this case, he's right for once...
If and it's a massive if he turns our season around and we end up around the top 4 or perhaps top 6 and a trophy then he would have more than deserved another season.
I think though that is unlikely to happen and we'll probably end up in 8th with no trophies and yes then we should replace him.
I think people are looking at this from a results based perspective, I keep hearing about him being sacked based on one result every match but it looks so far to me that the board are looking at the context I said in my previous post about injuries and cups...A run in the EL and FA might save him for now.
Edit - Just as I thought

if you notice tho, the people that like him etc are idiots, its like hes a symbol of hope for idiots in the world. its all very simple and basic isnt it, not once has he even spoke about tactics (the idiots wouldnt understand that) so its all mate this and mate that and life guru bollox. hes a sunday league level manager that would gee up a load of hungover scaffolders on a sunday. hes literally a caveman up against scientists in this league, its embarrassing to watch. There's something extremely odd about this one over the rest.
He's cast a spell over a lot of people to hide his lack of talent and it seems Levy is under that spell too.
Or, just maybe, Levy is leaving it to the others and the others aren't as adept at getting rid when the time is right.
If that is the case, they all need to be sacked ASAP.
We’d have lost to Liverpool regardless. Against Forest I agree we could have got a 0-0 if we sat back, but again… this is easy to say in hindsight. Are you seriously telling me that had we been more conservative against Liverpool it wouldn’t have made a difference? They could have scored 11 goals. They tore us apart without even trying. We may well have lost still, but we wouldn’t have conceded 6 goals.
Forest scored from a turnover in the middle of the part when our fullback was inverted in the centre circle and they played a split through ball between our makeshift centre halves, and our inverted left back stopped running as he constantly does.
Fuck the inverted bollocks off and tighten up defensively. But he won’t.
Vicario had an impact injury, Romero tore muscle after a Cruyff turn, Richarlison has always been injury prone. Can’t blame it all on Ange.Postecoglou is THE reason we keep having such injury problems.
If only there was some way of being able to know how many games we had to play in a season and the demands that would place on the squad. We’d have lost to Liverpool regardless. Against Forest I agree we could have got a 0-0 if we sat back, but again… this is easy to say in hindsight.
Pick any team in the league with poor squad depth, make them play twice a week, and then injure their CBs and GK… I guarantee you they would do badly regardless of style.
Agree on this- squad investment was a disgrace this summer, left us destined to fail.If only there was some way of being able to know how many games we had to play in a season and the demands that would place on the squad.
We struggled with injuries last year and we played 41 games. We only added ONE senior player to the squad knowing we might play 69 games, releasing Hoijberg, Skippy and Royal in the process. This manager has bemoaned wanting a bigger squad (until now) and didn’t rotate when he could have.
Most of us knew this was going to be an issue.
The board will back him until they don't, and we will only hear about that when he's sacked so I don't put much emphasis reports that he is still retaining support.
The problem I have about only looking at it from results perspective is, he's either the right man or he isn't. I don't see how the club can still view him as the man to lead us forward, so surely he has to go. We can't have a lame duck manager the club has no confidence in. What about planning for the summer window etc.
I do think though in light of our league form, an exit in the SF will be curtains for him but I think whatever happens, barring a miracualous turnaround, we will part ways in the summer regardless.
We didn’t deserve to lose yet just like every other game under this guy the defense is constantly put in 3+v2 situations and the opposition scores.Agree on the results factor, but many also felt the Newcastle game, for example, we created enough to get something from the game.
No one said we bettered Newcastle but we were the dominant team.for large swathes of the game and didn't deserve to lose.... more people thought that than not IMHO.
When will people get it in their heads that the manger or style of play is NOT to blame.
These are the managers we’ve sacked in recent years:
Pochettino
Mourinho
Nuno
Conte
These managers are a mix of serial winners to project managers, from attacking styles to defensive etc.
They all have one thing in common- ultimately failed and sacked!
The problem is Levy who doesn’t give the manager the tools. I concede Ange’s style is high octane so needs huge strength in depth… so why not give him that instead of underinvesting and moving to a new manager!
to blame for what? being bottom half? When will people get it in their heads that the manger or style of play is NOT to blame.
Yep
We didn’t deserve to lose yet just like every other game under this guy the defense is constantly put in 3+v2 situations and the opposition scores.
Not rotating his 11 earlier to avoid muscle fatigue is a fuck up. Reason I have some faith in Ange is because I do think he will adapt and learn from his mistakes., no matter what he says publicly
erm, yea its the manager and tactics. any other manager in the league doesnt have us in the bottom half.
