It’s not true to say they invert like say Rico Lewis does in front of the CB’s, they often bomb into the final third! Gotta play two DM’s and get them to cover full back areas if we are gonna do thatThe quickest fix a change of manager would likely implement is to stop both fullbacks inverting which would immediately make us more solid at the back.
I think this is the most frustrating thing I’ve found from the last few games where our hashed up centre pairing could have done with more protection.
I thought Ange was reasonably safe for the season, but I can’t see the board tolerating us dropping much further down the table which is entirely possible looking at the run of games.
Ange’s stubbornness will likely be his undoing, where a slight tweak to the way the back four play could help us through this injury period.
His decision to return Romero and Micky as soon as he could. Davies and Radu had been fine and only conceded two goals in 3 games. There was no need for them to return immediately. No, it’s our squad which isn’t good enough.
Blaming Ange is providing cover for Levy.
If any squad had poor strength in depth, and the starting CBs, GK, and back up LCB were all injured- they would struggle.
Here it is. This is what I've felt for months and been saying less succinctly. He cant and won't change anything fundamental as he sees it as an admission or climb down. We need some one smarter than this to succeed. What's that axiom about if you only have a hammer every problem is a nail. That's Ange PostecoglouThe more I listen to him, the more I think he views himself as the man who figured out how football works and is going to redefine it. He must see any adaptation as an admission that he hasn't cracked the code. If you view things in that context, it doesn't matter who Spurs play or what the game state is. The system is the answer to every question. It can't be changed.
Sometimes it’s 2v2, 3v2,3v3,3v4 so what. It’s a problem caused by the way we play. The opposition scores because we are always running back at full speed from overloading the opposition half. We lost the recovery pace of VDV and no adjustments were made. If we can’t make adjustments to “90%” of the goals we’ve conceded, there’s a problem.
Are you seriously telling me that had we been more conservative against Liverpool it wouldn’t have made a difference? They could have scored 11 goals. They tore us apart without even trying. We may well have lost still, but we wouldn’t have conceded 6 goals.
Forest scored from a turnover in the middle of the part when our fullback was inverted in the centre circle and they played a split through ball between our makeshift centre halves, and our inverted left back stopped running as he constantly does.
Fuck the inverted bollocks off and tighten up defensively. But he won’t.
We are being targeted and the spaces where our full backs should be is being exploited. We see it with our own eyes every game, and opposition players are emphatically revealing this in post match interviews.
This would - and has - happened even with our first choice defenders. It’s called being found out and why we are losing so many games. Injuries are compounding it, sure, but it’s a massive flaw in how we set up. And that is on the manager.
That was after Brighton. They knew the game plan and that’s why he doesn’t change it during matches.Just remembered he once said he didn't make subs because he didn't want us to be falsely rewarded with a win.
Our squad isn’t ‘fine’ given we play in Europe. Ange-Outers sadly providing cover for Levy. His decision to return Romero and Micky as soon as he could. Davies and Radu had been fine and only conceded two goals in 3 games. There was no need for them to return immediately.
Our squad is fine. We're equal on points with west ham and behind Brentford. Would you rather take their squads?
Ange can't even pick the best 11. Good players are wasted on him. BJ almost always starting and Spence hardly played all season.
Liverpool had a better squad under Klopp than Levy has ever built. We have owned the Manchester clubs multiple times this season.United have already sacked a manager for poor performance. They are a terrible team. City are at the end of a cycle and clearly influenced by outside circs. Their issues aren’t an injury lol, Rodri has been out before. They’re a broken side impacted by the investigation. Don’t be at all surprised if we end up behind United anyway (with an already sacked coach!) by the time our hard fixtures are done.
Competent sides don’t fall apart the way we have. Liverpool had no defenders under Klopp (they had a CDM there and a championship cb) and they still plugged away getting points and achieved top four. We are not a competent side and so yes, the injuries have crippled us .. in a way it doesn’t cripple a team with their shit together.
When did he say this?Just remembered he once said he didn't make subs because he didn't want us to be falsely rewarded with a win.
Just to be a total contrarian, like Ange in an interview, I really do appreciate all the goals we are scoring.
Thank you for exposing the last place left to hide of people with Ange Postecoglou avatars. Those of us who saw through his lack of ability do not belive firing him will suddenly turn Daniel Levy into Sir spend a load. Firing him will however rid us of a manager so tactically inept I've genuinely started to wonder if he actually has his pro licence. I mean has anyone actually verified them.I’ve said numerous times, and it’s worth mentioning of all the people that would like to see the back of Ange, I haven’t personally seen any of them say anything different, but I don’t think getting rid of Ange is a silver bullet that fixes all our problems and I’ve never seen anyone suggest that it would.
Levy is still a clear and leading problem, he is what’s holding us down, but Ange simply hasn’t been anywhere near good enough with what he has. All this talk of injuries doesn’t take into account how poor we’ve been for as long as we have.
Saying however that people are claiming getting rid of Ange solves all the issues isn’t true. People want rid of Ange because he’s simply too naive and under qualified for this league. So we would see improvement under plenty of other managers, but there would indeed still be other issues remaining which would require fixing.
Or maybe doing that head jerk sideways thing in interviews ?“My body language and how I speak are really important at this time as people respond to that” - said Postecoglu, coughing and staring at his shoes.
I just give him credit for not drooling warm Fosters.
Yawn, another lazy narrative.
We didn't lose to Palace because of 3 v 2, we didn't lose to Ipswich or Woolwich or even Brighton because of that.
There are good enough reasons to be frustrated without parroting new ones you heard some idiot on Talksport talk about.
One of Liverpool's young Dutchmen more or less said that in their game with us they intentionally targeted Radu because they knew that Ange's setup was going to leave him high and dry. Specifically because of the way that Ange demands our fullbacks to play. Are you seriously telling me that had we been more conservative against Liverpool it wouldn’t have made a difference? They could have scored 11 goals. They tore us apart without even trying. We may well have lost still, but we wouldn’t have conceded 6 goals.

Naked photos of Levy and Cullen together in the board room...The worst thing is that if we accept this, we've lowered our standards permanently. No other managers would've been given this long under those circumstances.
And sooner or later he will have a decent spell. Anyone can have it with those kind of players. And people will think he's turned it around. And it could go on for longer than we think. Because something about his persona is making Levy stick with him.
He has the least bragging rights of all managers, SPL being his previous peak. Still he's the most arrogant fuck I've seen. Talking about second season winner every time but can't even beat Ipswich. He's so tactically inept it's actually funny. But everyone's laughing at us nowadays. But for some reason he has Levy under his control.
