Mate....our tactic and set up is completely at fault.

It encourages our fullbacks in the 10 position where Spence ran into on instruction...and where he lost the ball.

Sarr is also pushing extremely high up because again that is the instruction to do so.

Bentancur now being the sole "midfielder" has a decision to make, cover the space vacated by Spence or Sarr as any midfielder would do(he has too much to do on his own now.) Johnson came inside so Bentancur covered right back area(the right thing to do.)

Johnson makes a poor attempt at getting the ball and now the ball falls to Morgan-gibbs white who is a powerful and willing runner who has absolute acres of space to run into..and a ridiculous amount of time to pick a pass, and technically very good he executes an excellent pass to elanga leaving our backline no chance as it's terrible to watch from our point of view.

Udogie could have done a bit better but damage was done
So if Spence had overlapped and run towards the corner flag, we’d be less exposed?

Or are you just against any system where the FBs get forward?

One of Liverpool's young Dutchmen more or less said that in their game with us they intentionally targeted Radu because they knew that Ange's setup was going to leave him high and dry. Specifically because of the way that Ange demands our fullbacks to play.

Radu is, despite what some on here would claim, a good professional footballer. Certainly good enough to play at PL or Serie A level. But he isn't a one man defence that can take on all comers. And leaving him alone like our current setup demands is doomed to fail him.
It was a fellow professional footballer being g professional in his comments, a polite way of saying the system is easy to get at as it gives the opposition an advantage.

Edin Terzic, get him in as interim he is a talented progressive coach who isn't on some kind of insane power fantasy like Postecoglou. If he takes to it and ends the season well jobs his. If we are not certain get Iraola in the summer. The good thing about the way we have brought is any modern coach can use Sarr, Udogie Maddison, Vic. I think Ange Postecoglou took many people in but was simply not qualified to coach this level. He will never work at it again.

We can recall Philips use Dorrington and buy a Hanko to get us through. I'd buy Bakayoko I'm sick of choir boys, good his got an ego. We will be better without the bizarre handbrake that's Ange Postecoglou it's time everyone accepted it think we are nearly 90% there alot of the cultist have disappeared.
I'm not sure Terzic is the answer. He was Bilic's assistant at West Ham and they weren't much cop under him. He fell out with Matts Hummels who let's face it is probably well placed to call out an ineffective manager. People will say his record is good but Dortmund should be winning plenty of games in their league. If we do something short term i.e end of season the I would go all out for Max Allegri. Yes he went berserk after Coppa Italia final last season but he's a winner and ok the football will be not as gung ho as Ange but we need to be hard to beat.

Would you be able to post the full quote?
Speaking in his press conference after the game, Postecoglou said: “Yeah I could have. But… all these things… are totally irrelevant to me. Substitutions and all those kind of things. If you’re not competitive, it doesn’t matter what you do, you’re not going to get rewards, you don’t deserve to win.

“We didn’t deserve on our second-half performance, irrespective of subs or anything else, to get something out of the game. But I think if you do get something out of the game, you’re falsely rewarded and I don’t want to get falsely rewarded.”

And that’s when he lost me.

Our squad isn’t ‘fine’ given we play in Europe. Ange-Outers sadly providing cover for Levy.
Cover for Levy? Levy once again is the cause. Not only has he appointed a staggeringly under qualified manager he is stubbornly backing him when he should have gone probably after Ipswich. A chairman that dismissed Redknapp on a whim after finishing 4th. A chairman that didnt back Poch our best manager in 35 years. Who treated Jol and Nuno shockingly. Its his mess, its always his mess but that doesnt excuse keeping a stubborn, childish, tactically inept idiot. Whats the alternative, carry on as we have been all year?

Ok in fairness to him I'm revising my gone by Christmas prediction.

Gone by new years eve.

I don’t think he’s saying here that the subs would have led us to being rewarded. I think he’s making two separate points: that the whole team was playing poorly in the second half so subs wouldn’t have saved us, and we didn’t deserve anything due to the second half performance.

Alternative is to back Ange heavily in this January window with quality wingers such as Mitoma.
