Gross was sacked after 3 games of the 98/99 season. L2 W1
Nah, we'll comfortably win it. And that's as much of a problem as losing it. It will galvanize the Angebois. Especially if it's a cricket score.I am genuinely concerned about the Tamworth game
Shows how low Ange has sunk this club.
Maybe he will naively play the easily bullied? As he did, naively, against Rangers.
I called that on this forum before kick-off at Ibrox. Not playing Kulu and Solanke was tactically horrible.
Just look at the number of games where we’ve conceded first and won.
You were definitely trolling when you attributed zero blame on the hamstring injuries to Anges system and claimed Richarlison never had a hamstring injury despite out manager stating he had a hamstring injury. People were posting past historical evidence of the exact same things happening and you stated it wasn't related.
That's the definition of trolling.
You were trolling when you basically stated net spend doesn't really matter as well...something you've only said recently (since Anges hiring). Previously the (valid)argument was that the chairman didn't financially back previous managers but this time he actually does and you now dismiss net spend.
There is no structure to our long ball and it is always second to playing it short. Watch the Eriksen goal from our game against Man Utd in 2018. That is the equivalent of a training ground set piece. Long balls need to be practiced and have structure. If you win the header someone needs to be running onto the ball.We do have a coach focused on set pieces and they’ve improved a lot from last season.
I’ve seen Forster go long in plenty of games.
Agree on the transition fouls. It annoys me but he has principles I guess. There’s nothing stopping the players from just doing it though
There's also the optimistic possibility that they are holding off on making any on field changes because there for once actually are negotiations regarding a change in the ownership (what with Stavely hanging about). And they don't want to make any changes until the new part owners are installed because they probably want a say in it.I think that was just some late night delusion from me, that the club might actually have some awareness that this cannot continue. But it appears we're sleepwalking towards another weekend, with another three points thrown away with no real competitiveness.
I think what's frustrating is, that there's no way to know where the people above the manager are at mentally. Man Utd are a joke right now, there's no question. But at least everyone knows that they're aware that their current level isn't good enough. Because they've sacked a manager. They'll probably sack another one if they're like this for a while longer.
With us, everything seems on the table. Are they thinking this current coaching set up is at the end and they're just looking for the right moment to make a change? In which case why drag things out? Are they thinking, trust the process, no panic, see it through. In which case, are they out of their fucking mind? Or are they just paralysed with a sense of, "what do we do?"
I think all of those options are on the table, which just drives you crazy.
what on earth are you going on about?Just look at the number of games where we’ve conceded first and won.
I can’t remember the game but he’s made multiple game changing subs this season and last season.
The Pape Sarr false 9 vs City… Even the Liverpool debacle we adjusted to press much less because of our physical condition.
we’ve been through this on the forum before and people that know football better than me have pointed out the tweaks and adjustments. End of the day, there are narratives and there are results.
When the results are bad, the narratives get more persuasive. If the results improve the narratives go away.
I actually love what he’s trying to do by saying “we are Tottenham fucking Hotspur and we will impose our game upon you, not the other way round”. It’s potentially glorious.
But, he’s trying it with a limited squad. With little or no apparent leadership. Which seems to be mentally fragile. Playing too many games. Knackered to fuck. Lots of injuries.
We either accept we need to add a few quality, experienced players immediately, or accept this hasn’t worked.
what on earth are you going on about?
He’s made plenty of half time tweaks that changed games in our favour
I asked you to name them if theyre "plenty of half time tweaks that CHANGED games and youve managed to name:
Sarr starting in a position further upfield...that's not changing tactics at half time is it.
and you also named a game where we got battered and lost. How the fuck is that changing games in our favour.
"I can't remember the games"
of course you fucking can't remember because you're talking out your arse. You make these weird definite statements knowing full well it's absolute crap.
We have both problems. Tactical and physical. And on the latter Ange appears far too blind to the limitations his captain and a couple of other players. And theHe’s made plenty of half time tweaks that changed games in our favour. We conceded first in most of our games.
There was a game vs Everton I think but could have been someone else, Maddison playing well but we were struggling with them tactically in MF, he subbed Maddison and we tore them to pieces.
The problem we have is physical not tactical imo. We struggle when we can’t impose the game we want physically
our long balls are national league standardThere is no structure to our long ball and it is always second to playing it short. Watch the Eriksen goal from our game against Man Utd in 2018. That is the equivalent of a training ground set piece. Long balls need to be practiced and have structure. If you win the header someone needs to be running onto the ball.
They do if they are part of your system. If your system is playing it out, they are an extra that you build in later when you have the system locked in.There is no structure to our long ball and it is always second to playing it short. Watch the Eriksen goal from our game against Man Utd in 2018. That is the equivalent of a training ground set piece. Long balls need to be practiced and have structure. If you win the header someone needs to be running onto the ball.
I do want to know..I asked because I wanted to know and you couldn't answer your wild claim so now you're saying you're not going to bother refreshing your memory because I don't want to know.Whatever mate, there’s no point me going through the games to refresh my memory because you don’t want to know.
Poch is one of, if not the best player developer that I have seen in modern football.Agreed Poch had a much harder job as well as he had to ease out bad characters like Adebayor and rely on a young 20 year old striker with little to no Premier League experience.
It is no coincidence that Poch turned Palmer into an absolute superstar. The man and his coaching staff knew how to train players. The man also had people running through brick walls for him.
Ange is shit but one of the reasons is because he doesn’t think it is important to get the best people possible in.
More than welcome
Ok, I’ll go thru old results and refresh the specifics.I do want to know..I asked because I wanted to know and you couldn't answer your wild claim so now you're saying you're not going to bother refreshing your memory because I don't want to know.
Make it make sense please.
Why is the option either all out attack or all out defence? Surely theres an inbetween no?Fully agree.
We either need to actually BE Tottenham fucking Hotspur and hotspur and build a squad capable of doing it consistently.
Or we need to accept that beingTottenham Fucking Hotspur in Europe and Cups isn’t compatible with the budget so we need to sack of everything except finishing as close to 4th as possible or play a counter-attacking shithouse style and ride our luck on moments.
Problem is, we saw with Nuno, Jose and Conte that the fans don’t want to watch defensive shithousing and the club also don’t want to pay the wages of disciplined, tactically astute veteran players who can do it.
Because niether of them are all out 100% of the times but those are the narratives fans and pundits will end up discussingWhy is the option either all out attack or all out defence? Surely theres an inbetween no?
Its not a narrative though. Its all out attack. Our defence is not coached you can see it. Absolute panic 90% of the time when we are under pressure. Its like u-12s chasing the ballBecause niether of them are all out 100% of the times but those are the narratives fans and pundits will end up discussing
