Is that true? It seems like we are always playing them and almost always Pool on the counter- have we actually won possession against City recently? Pool I'm not sure- I feel like they sometimes try to play more on the actual counter so may have conceded possession to us recently.
Your next post you said you didn’t watch the game…. Lol

But both goals we scored against Liverpool were from buildup and playing through them with a direct ball from Porro. Not counter attacks but a clearly defined weakness in their defensive system.

Start of the game we pressed the shit out of them and should have created much better chances. Then we toned down the press a bit and picked moments.

We beat City 4-0 at theirs and iirc none of the goals were really counter attacks.

Great win vs Pool. I unfortunately didn't see the game as I was traveling. I've read some of the comments- genuinely hope that Ange made the defensive tactical changes with the fullbacks, and that it wasn't just players going rogue. Hopefully vs Tamworth we can pick up a confident win, and gain some momentum to take into the Woolwich game!
I see this nonsense about players ignoring him and doing their own thing is hanging around then.

Oh goodie.

Sigh.
I knew it. Fucking knew it.
Anyone seen his new interview in the Grauniad?
Here is a snippet of his arrogance. Note the passive aggressiveness 😅

"For Postecoglou, everything is linked to the overall meddling – along with the unnerving march of technology. “I’m really surprised at how people in this country are so easily letting the game change so much so quickly,” he said. “I just thought people would be a little bit more protective about the sanctity of the game. That’s what I was talking about [after Newcastle]. I wasn’t criticising referees. I didn’t think the [handball] decision was right but it’s just the way of the game.

“There’s a lot of confusion at the moment. That’s my belief – that the game is changing on the basis of technology and I’m saying: ‘Why isn’t anyone speaking up about it?’ Especially in this country where you guys think you’re custodians of the game. You’ve got a song that says: ‘It’s coming home.’ This is your game. And yet it takes an Aussie from the other side of the world to be the one that’s most conservative about changes.

“So my comments about a fair and even playing ground … that’s what they’re about. Against Liverpool, it advantaged us. I wasn’t saying that there was a vendetta against me or Tottenham. Now everything is changing and that was my point. I can see why Arne would be very disappointed [about the Bergvall decision]. I’d be disappointed as well but apparently they’re the rules.”

Ugh.
Why is he talking like this?
Because of one victory against Liverpool???
Just fucking win 2 games in a row in the league, cuck

I was talking about the rest of the games we've played- not necessarily the one versus Liverpool- this is the Ange Postecoglu match thread, not the Liverpool match thread.

He's been against VAR since forever.

These aren't surprising comments unless you're constantly looking for attack points.

I said I hoped it was not like that. And please don't try to twist my words to mean something else- I've chosen them carefully.
But why even entertain the idea that was started on here by the most moronic posters?

There is absolutely no way it happened. It's not even a thing.

Ange doesn't strike me as someone who would have been able to hide his anger if it were true - win or not.

I'll speculate on whatever I want. And I disagree that simply because they harbor that thought it makes them "moronic".

As before I remain unconvinced that Ange is an especially competent head coach. I am glad for this win though and hope he can continue improvement.

People are entitled to think and ponder on what they want.

Pondering moronic ideas does make them moronic though.

The earth is not flat.
We aren't surrounded by lizard people.
The players aren't ignoring Ange's instructions.

You're right- what's the point talking to a complete prick like yourself who's first move is to simply abuse people with comparisons to preposterous conspiracy theorists? I can't really see much point in it either.
But that my point!

This whole 'players ignored the boss' theory is akin to those ridiculous conspiracy theories.

There is absolutely no way he'd be able to hide his anger if he's been stood on the side of the pitch for 100minures, watching the players not do what he told them too.

If he didn't call it out directly, we'd all have wondered why there was something 'off' in his manner afterwards.

It did not happen. It was made up by someone who didn't want to give him any credit for the win.

But you're right - you ponder what you want.

How do you disagree?

Why were you even disagreeing with the Liverpool game if you haven’t seen it?
Because one game can easily be a fluke. I will watch it- I'm curious to see how we can have so little possession but be scoring goals as part of a planned offense. The long ball over the top to Solanke that he fed to Bergvall (great pass btw) didn't exactly strike me as something you'd see from an offense in possession- that's more of a play it out of the back thing. I have not seen the full run of play leading to the goal though so I concede it may be different than that.

I tried to be civil about stating my opinion, and you were a rude asshole. Thanks for that.
