And I disagree that simply because they harbor that thought it makes them "moronic".

It’s exceedingly clear that the players are still behind Postecoglou and his system. That’s why in the midst of an injury crisis and terrible run of results they’re still running themselves into the ground week after week. Once players turn on a manager or give up or become resigned to something not working, it becomes obvious. You can see it on the pitch and inevitably the stories get leaked in the press.

The idea that these players who are clearly still right behind the manager conspired to ignore his instructions and come up with their own gamelan or simply ‘wing it’ on the night (and Postecoglou and all his staff just ignored it) is, frankly, batshit insane.

As someone who’s definitely been on Ange’s back in a BIG BIG way, I will say I love even these micro periods when Ange has bounced off a trough and there are chinks of light at the end of the tunnel. When he’s a bit more relaxed he’s great in the pressers, and maybe Slot aside, easily the most engaging and interesting Prem manager to listen to. And I happen to know a few sports journos and I know as a collective they all think the same - apparently he’s great with them behind the scenes, the very opposite of someone like Graham Potter.

It’s always a bumpy road being a Spurs fan but sincerely hope we’ve bounced off the final Ange trough and that more of the pragmatism shown on Wednesday night is a feature moving forwards. Kinsky, Spence, Bergvall, Gray + the players to come back - there is hope we can kick on from what nobody can deny has been a rough 12 months.

The progress curve is still going to be volatile but if we can all clearly see that the underlying trend is positive then Ange will most certainly deserve more time and also our patience.

My colleagues from ITV are at Tamworth's ground now, Astroturf pitch and apparently the dressing room is barely a cabin, how much of a shock will it be for your multi-million pound players?

They are not multi-million pound players, they are human beings. They are good people, so they would never go to a place like that and disrespect it.

Most have come from places like that. Some worse, let me tell you.

They will go there and respect the fact that Tamworth will build it to be the biggest game of their lives and I am sure they will do their best to create an environment where they are proud of their ground, proud of their facilities because that is what they work with and that’s how we’ll treat it on the day.

I am proud of our manager.

That’s good leadership. Sets the tone for how he expects the players to behave.

It's obvious Ange will remain in the job now until at least the second leg with Pool, but the PL games before then are:

Woolwich (a)
Everton (a) - new manager bounce
Leicester (h)
Brentford (a)

There's every chance we only pick up maximum 5 points during this spell. If we beat Pool and reach the final then all will be forgiven, but at what stage does the league position become completely unacceptable?

Not baiting or looking for an Ange Out discussion. Just curious as to what would be breaking point? Or is it a case of securing a trophy and finishing higher than say 15th, then his job is secure and he'll be backed with funds in the summer?

It feels like the Pool second leg is enormous for him.

This only occurrs if you think the second half of the year will replicate the first half in terms of player availability.

A medium run of health and will start rising again. The question is more whether they think he’s the one for next year.

When a team is on form the mentality should be 1 game at a time.

None of the predictions had us beating Liverpool. Let’s get Tamworth done first and worry about the League after.
