Did you hear Ange talking about the Kinski signing , I don't have a link but I remember him saying

"yeah actually all 10 of us voted to get him"

Not sure exactly who all the 10 are but sounds very much like players are presented and then we vote on signing them , so would assume Ange has 1/10th of an input over who we sign.

No link eh??

Blatant “I have dreams about Ange Postecoglou”post.

What was he wearing at this press conference?? Or is it just aural pleasure??

Well, I wouldn't say this season has been a disaster. Some positives

- We are within spitting distance of the league cup final
- Our injury crisis has enabled us to give minutes to Spence, Grey, Bergvall - who have all shown immense quality. It is very likely Spence would have been sold for peanuts had he not stepped up.
- Have scored the 2nd most goals in the league - despite not having a prolific center forward. We have goals coming from all of our squad.

The league position is disappointing, but we are only halfway through the season. 54 points still to play for.

My expectation is that winning the Europa League is now our realistic way of getting back into the Champions League next season; and as a result; our ambition in the premier league will probably be to finish in the top 6 - which given Newcastle, Forest, Cheslea's form, may be a tough ask.

Of course it has been a disaster. We've been apalling in the league, mediocre in Europe, and we are a typical away performance at Anfield to being out of the league cup, and you get fk all for exiting at the SF stage. You may aswell get knocked out in the first round if you don't end up winning it.

We absolutely struggled to beat a NL team with one of the worst performances in recent memory. We were an absolute hairwidth away from being knocked out in the 94th minute if that Tamworth player had made a better connection.

Ange is an absolute disaster. He was so flukey yesterday that we weren't knocked out, as he was versus Coventry. He seems to be doing just enough to scrape by and hang on to his job, but let's be honest, he's doing a terrible job.

As each game goes by, it's more and more clear Ange is leading us nowhere but to failure yet the Ange fans still double down even more so.

Yes but Ange also has a veto right I would expect (he has effectively stated as much) so carries a bit more responsibility than 1/10th.

Anyway let's say it's a team effort, in which Ange has a significant part. How well is the team going in the last 18 months? Johnson one of the divisive ones, arguably below average value-for-money. Werner second loan a bit of a flop, although it's a loan not a signing. Dragusin maybe not a great fit to the system but improving; worst case we re-sell him without loss. I'm pretty happy with all the rest. I think that's a pretty good batting average compared to (a) rival teams in the same windows, and (b) Spurs history over the previous 3-4 years.
You would have thought so, but remember Conte kicking off with his "club signing" on can't remember the player , might have been Djed actually?

I know Johnson gets a lot of stick and I think if he was just a bit braver on the ball he would be a lot better but he does seem like a Ange type of signing, the trouble is yesterday you got the feeling he knew it was going to be a physical game and he wasn't up for it, Mickey Moore was the same in the first half but second half he came out and was playing his game.

Dragu is a strange one, he would be a good defender under Conte or Jose but i get the feeling in Anges system he is always going to look out of place as he doesn't like the ball, but yeah last 3/4 years our signings have been really good when you think about it and your never going to get every one right.

This season we are:
15-5-11 F 62 A 42
Last season
17-5-9 F 61 A 44
So more goals scored, less conceded but 2 less games won.
Did anyone mention our injury crisis?
Or that we are in all the cup competitions?

Ah yes disappointing to get turned over by them despite the only manager to win there in the Prem era is Harry Redknapp

You talk about the possibility of us being relegated this season yet it's disappointing to lose to Woolwich, you're not a serious chap are you 🤣

Do you deny that Woolwich on recent form we couldn't at least get a draw? Yes we have a poor record there but Ange needs to show something starting now in terms of league results. It seems you just accept defeat and already have your excuses in for Ange at the ready.

I am only talking about the possibility of us being involved in a relegation fight, not actually going down. Stop making stuff up. My assumption about us being involved in a fight at the bottom is due to 2 wins in 10 PL games and Ange's overall tenure.

FWIW I am not sure about Wednesday. Do we turn up like we did against Liverpool and battle for a result? I'd love to think so but my head says we will get absolutely battered on Wednesday, but I'd love to be proved wrong.

Given he's the head coach, and presumably the highest paid, and picks the team, and has also said he has the final say, I think suggesting Ange has 1/10th of a say is likely very wide of the mark.
Who really knows, but remember the Conte Interview about Djed being a club signing, I think Brennan was a Ange buy though , someone he wanted , whether he regrets that now is a different matter.

The only reason I can think of, and Its been said before, but some fans love the man more than they love the club!
theres a lot of weirdos that follow him around. the actual real spurs fans that still want him have never had any respect in the first place when it comes to their opinions on football. these are the idiots that sing about loving eric dier and thought harry winks was going to be special. the same bunch that just over a year ago thought skipp was better than sarr.....these people are clueless bless them.

What’s the point of these delusional posts? To somehow fool someone in to thinking we’re actually doing ok? Nobody is fooled. A couple of also deluded people will give you a like react because it makes them feel cosy and warm, but that’s it.

We are 12th. 3 points ahead of Crystal Palace in 15th. 12 points below Chelsea in fourth which was the pre-season expectation. Other than the league cup it would be borderline impossible for us to not be in all cup competitions. Nobody is convinced by empty statements.

This season has been a disaster. We are sat below Forest, Brighton, Brentford, Villa, Fulham and Bournemouth. We are 3 points ahead of a West Ham team who think their season was going so badly they just sacked their manager.

I don’t really care that you’re completely detached from reality, but don’t try to infect everyone else with the insanity.
None, and I mean none of the teams in a better league position would be in the position they’re currently in if they had 3 of 4 CBs out for months, their first choice goalkeeper out for months, their LB out at the same time (!) etc. None of them.

It’s insanity and extreme naivety to think that having to play 2nd or 3rd choice players often out of position with virtually no ability to rotate for an extended period is a recipe for success in the Premier League.

You and your misery wank buddies can pretend otherwise as much as you like, that’s not a problem, but don’t expect to be taken seriously by those of us with brains that have developed beyond childhood.

Have seen us go to into these games above them in the league and clearly the better team that season but still come away with only a draw.

Let’s look at some facts.

Woolwich home league form
P9. W6 D3 L0
Our away form
P9 W3 D1 L5.

We are still playing our 2nd (inexperienced) options in 4 out of 5 defensive positions. We are not full strength. Far from it.

Looking at all that it would be a brave / stupid person to bet on a Spurs win.
Smart money will be on a home win.

The realistic optimists will be hoping for a draw.

Agree with your second point. And I'd add that we've signed Kinsky due to injuries. So the injury crisis has effectively resulted in four players showing they are first team quality through their performances. Agreed that is a massive positive.

Struggled?

We had 85% of the ball and won 3-0. Only 2 of their players touched the ball more than 20 times.

We took our time, and managed the game. Gave some good minutes to our squad and were able to get out defence some vital playing time together.

This was effectively a midweek training session.

Some brilliant mental gymnastics this.

It was 0-0 after 90 minutes and apart from a couple of shots from Maddison their keeper had fuck all to do.

Getting a game like this to extra time and needing to bring on Solanke, Son and Deki to rescue us isn't "managing the game".

So in the context of one of the richest football clubs in the world coming up against a team of part timers, yes we struggled.

You're absolutely insulting everyone's intelligence here to try and argue otherwise.

We have players in the premier league context that may as well be plumbers and delivery drivers as well. In fact Werner probably couldnt even do that. Put simply we dont have enough quality and thats going to be further exposed playing on an ice skating rink.
This is the most fickle argument I see in this thread and it's far too regular.

Those same players who aren't fit for purpose beat Liverpool the other night. Fairly comfortably.
If the squad was as bad as people make out, we wouldn't have managed that nor would we have managed any wins really.

Even though most of our wins have come against poor teams or out of form teams, they're still winning games (with less frequency) against actual PL teams.

The problem for me seems to be that our tactics pay off against some teams but not others. And when they're not working, nobody knows what to do. That's the coach and the players. Are the players allowed to improvise? I don't know. Maybe, maybe they're worried about being dropped if they deviate from Plan-A
When they do work, against a "compatible" opponent, then it works well.

What I notice here, is that when we win those games, the Angefans are congratulating him for the win. But when we lose, they berate the players as not good enough for his system. I don't buy that at all.
