Anyone with half a brain knows this to be the case, you could see after this summer we were doing things much better in defensive transitions/situations. Likewise the whole set piece thing.
But he doesn't always help himself with some of the flippant or sarcastic shit he spouts. I've said previously, as have others, most of it is tongue in cheek and his way of not coming across as rattled by constant questions by media fuck nuggets trying to make headlines at his cost, but the whole "can't it just be fun, are you not entertained" schtick did start to fucking grate and did him no favours with his own fans.
End of the day what he says really doesn't matter
Stop talking and start winning us some football matches so that we can move clear of the mighty west ham and crystal palace and god forbid actually look forwards instead of back over our shoulder

Our team plays football 6 days of the week. What do you think they do at training? Watch powerpoints? A typical day's training involves practice games and intense cardio.

Win games for sure but it’s up to fans to decide how much they want to buy into narratives from what he said because the one absolute certainty is that narratives will form when a manager speaks about his team that often

If we have supposedly improved our defense relative to the rest of the league since last season, why are we behind our points total from last season?
In a competitive league with results solely based on measured performance versus others, if you are not improving relative to other clubs, are you actually improving?

I do t get why the fans ding his name after one win well during the game. V dippers last week towards the end his name was sung. I though hold on we are in the middle of a terrible run and yet his name is sung. It’s like a pendulum with results. I would understand if we put a few games on the run with good results and wins but this is silly.

If we improved but everyone else improved more, did we really get more competitive in the league?
I can't understand how anyone can credibly claim we've improved when we've less points and lower position than at the same stage last season.
Are you sure? I think we've been behind on point totals and league placement as compared to last season for the entirety of this season.
Our defensive numbers were up in comparison to the previous season.
Too bad our points and league placement are down.
The point is its all relative and if you aren't doing better in the table- the only place it actually matters- then there's not actually been any real improvement. If we didn't improve as much as other teams then we didn't actually become more competitive.
I understand you think there's been more of an injury crisis this year as opposed to last year. I don't really think it's been that much different, but we'll have to agree to disagree on that.
