Thinking about this some more, I do think he is gone if we lose on Sunday. Some of us have been saying this every few days for months now, but looking at the league table, if Everton win they go from 17 points to 20. And will be 4 behind us. The current 7 point gap to 16th will suddenly erode to 4 points. I think that crosses the red line for the board.

And also, for the best evidence of what is happening at the club right now, the best source isn't journalists or Ally Gold. It's Ange.

His post match interview on Wednesday told us a lot. They asked him about the cups and the future etc, and he dismissed it and said "no no, I'm not looking past Sunday, we need to win there" I can't remember the exact words but it's not what he said, it's kind of the mood and what he didn't say. I've never heard him be so short term like he was. In the sense of, he basically could have just come out and said 'look there's no point me worrying about the cups, because if I don't win on Sunday I will be out of a job" I think he full expects he will be sacked on Sunday if we lose.
If/when he gets his long overdue P45, so should Levy, Cullen, Munn, Lange...

None of our decision-makers are good enough. None. They are utterly catastrophic at their jobs and their sheer incompetence (and dishonesty) is the reason we're in a relegation battle now. As the 8th richest club in the world, with the highest paid chairman, most expensive stadium built ever, highest ticket prices in the world etc etc.

I would actually love to see Levy get the managers job.

We would know for sure then that the cunt was going to get sacked.

Why do people shit on English managers like Dyche? Yet somehow Ange and di zerbi are gods?t Tell me what the fuck Ange accomplished before coming here? Celtic run themselves. He had some stints at australian and japanese minnows. It took him decades to get a gig in a top flight league. You can see how fucking tactically inept he is. He cant even defend a corner. He’s just not at this level and it shows. And the fact he is a novice and yet still refuses to change anything shows how delusional he is. But it’s okay because reddit hipsters told me he’s some revolutionary martyr of football because he comes from some obscure wank league and says a few cute sound bites.

Heres a thing. Most people dont know shit about football and overcomplicate everything. You know, Ange might relegate us, but god forbid we bring in someone English and working class like Dyche 🤢🤢

Its this mentality that has us where we are. Trying to be clever and here we are near the bottom of the table. We need a reality check and stop being pretenders. We’re fucking weak from top to bottom. The mentality stinks of this fake superiority. Weve got this nice pretty stadium. Great. Tell me what the fuck we’ve won in decades? Nothing. Fuck all.

Weve tried to be big bollocks with Mourinho and Conte. It failed because we never backed them to the extent that they find acceptable. When you hire a manager like Mourinho you go balls to the wall not that half arsed shite we did. A child could tell you that.

We tried the obscure ange bullshit. It failed miserably because it was all smoke and mirrors stuff. You can see the disorganised powder puff bullshit we put out each week and weve got this 2 dollar manager we found down the back of a mattress that refuses to change anything or outright refuses to do a bit of managing, his job. Okay great so just have no manager then.

And now everyones creaming about the next manager. More obscure foreign names that have little to no experience in the league. Have barely heard of Tottenham but theyre the next big thing to win us trophies because “OmG HaVe YoU sEeN tHeRe xG sTaTs” you’re going to get more of the same

What Spurs need is more spiritual. Theres a rot at the club. The player recruitment is shit. The ethos is so dogmatic and shortsighted. It’s either short term plan. Or long term plan buying youngsters. But no inbetween. Its either this project or that project.

we need a reality check. We have to tear up all of our ego and start again. Im sorry but the latest wank manager isnt going to cut it. Its another merry-go round. Someone comes in. Gets used to the club. Tries to shoehorn players into his latest system. Realises he’s out of his depth. Gets sacked. Rinse and repeat.

Now if im Levy It’s completely pointless to hire another manager right now. But its also completely pointless to keep Ange another second. So I would sack Ange and bring in Dyche for the rest of the season and start our recruitment process in the summer with hopefully some answered questions about where we are as a club. And heres what Dyche does. He comes in, tightens up our defence. He gets us playing simple football again. No confusing systems that dont work. Just a well set up team that is hard to break down and defensively sound at the back, whilst having more attacking prowess than what he had at Everton.

The next thing he does is brings a more father figure to the club. Oversees the issue with Spurs mentality. We all know Dyche is a no nonsense guy. Especially when it comes to hipster managers complicating everything. We are a faux club with poncey systems, but shitter versions. Trying to be something we’re not.

A guy like Dyche comes in every time this club needs liberating. Harry Redknapp after Ramos. Sherwood after AVB. We get so lost in our own bullshit that you need a demolition guy like Dyche to come in and just get us playing decent simple football again whilst putting an arm around the players and being strict but build our confidence.

We’re a pussy club. We need someone like Dyche at this moment in time. Is he the answer? No. But he’s necessary for where we are right now to steer the shit and get us back to basics because iv never seen a squad more lost. We cant even defend a set piece because weve got a hipster manager that thinks set pieces are beneath him and that just about sums up this fake wannabe persona this club has.

Sometimes you need a simple manager that is savvy and cunning enough to set up a solid team. Sometimes you need a 33 year old free agent William Gallas that joins just at the right time and is a useful addition to a bigger picture… everything we do is dogmatic and one way these days. Theres no flexibility in it anymore.
100% correct analysis of this perennial predicament we find ourselves in.
Why not look at a non fashionable Manager and give him the chance.

So you are purely speculating.

You are basically saying that Ange ignored the medical team assessment and asked two players to play injured out of desperation and risked them aggravating long term injuries.

It just doesn't wash with me, For starters VDV and Romero would have piped up about that don't you think? Particularly after getting injured again.
It's their careers which are at stake if the manager is indeed forcing them to play injured why haven't they spoken up?

We know Romero isn't afraid to speak up.
ok you're right ange handled it perfectly

:nunothumb:

Thing is, I'm not football smart in the way some on this board are but I wonder about this idea that his system is flawed and he's out of his depth because of the system. His system isn't working right now but as we saw with Pep's system this year, EVERY system is flawed and can be exposed. What I see with Ange is a perfect storm of shit going wrong to expose the flaws in his system. When things are going well, his system can go to City and win 4-0, it can beat Liverpool, it can get a point at Woolwich, and it can unlock stubborn, orgnaized teams like Brentford.

Now, he is stubborn and he will refuse to adjust when the perfect storm does arrive to expose his system. I do understand the growing number of voices who wanted him to change his philosophy because of the storm he's in. They want results regardless of the trouble we have with injuries or fatigue or whatever. I understand their takes. But... I also respect Ange even more for sticking to his guns and saying if we change our beliefs now, where does it end? Then you just end up going from compromise to compromise and you have no idea who you are anymore.

which brings me back to the club. Recruit a squad that can handle the storm.

1.Don't leave him with Davies as the back up LCB and Spence as the back up LB when he's a very right-footed RB who is still earning his spot in the rotation.

2. Don't leave him with Bissouma and Bentancur as his only senior CMs with any defensive instincts at all. Especially when you know both are inconsistent and have issues with injuries and suspensions.

3. Don't leave him with a broken Richarlison as his only rotation CF so he has to burn out Solanke.

4. Don't leave him with Werner as the first veteran WF to rotate with Son when he was a cheap stopgap last year.

If you are serious about going in this direction and an employing this City Football Group, Pep/Barca/Cruyff style system, then actually go all in, don't just try and bosh it into Levynomics of "little by little" recruitment that always leaves squads shorthanded.
I agree re Levy and all them points you make re injuries, Werner etc.

But still. Ange is absolutely not a top level coach or manager, and that system of his that he thinks is so revolutionary and better than everyone else's...well time to wake up and smell the coffee...it's one of the worst I've seen as a football fan and as someone who's coached for over 25 years. I mean, whenever I meet up with some of the coaches I used to work with or attend workshops with (some of whom are now on benches in League 1 & 2 and good leagues abroad), we talk about Ange and not one of them rates him or his system. He's actually the butt of the joke and often used as the example of what not to do.

He'd already be plenty lucky to have a Championship job.

Anyone that can organise us till the end of the season . Then get Bournemouth manager in the summer .
The thing about the new manager on the block at Bournemouth is..... he has players playing a different way to how Spurs apparently should play.... you know... they run there fukin socks off for 95mins because they are supposedly inferior to the
cultured Tottenham players...... there is a footballing cancer at the heart of our great club, and as we all know it needs to be EXTRACTED..... can someone please contact ELON MUSK and ask him to buy Spurs....

Never heard him say it’s revolutionary. He’s basically said he’s a student of Cruyff and Puskas. He’s just stubborn about sticking to it.

Isn't that what we are doing?

:gallashmm:
Sorry no..... this guy came to our club boasting about winning the Scotish Premier League...then some Japanese League oh and boasting that he always wins a trophy in his second season.... but now when the hacks ask him if he still expects to win a trophy he turns on them and says...." You guys are now mocking me "...... he brought all that on himself..... a non fashionable manager comes with no bagage or boasts......

He’s annoyed because they keep asking him to repeat it.
