Not wishing to be overly harsh, but beating Everton, West Ham or United really a benchmark of the success of Angeball ? Villa. Yeah I can understand that being seen as one to praise highly, the others? Wins were expected in two of them and the United game against a terrible United was not a massive surprise. Although the performance was good. Very good in fact.

Exactly, those three clubs have been so shit they have all sacked the manager.

If Ange was pointing to commanding league wins over Liverpool, Chelsea, Woolwich or Newcastle then maybe I would be impressed. Bitch-slapping some dead teams is nothing special. Literally everyone is pissing on those teams this season. 5 of the 7 teams we've beaten this season have sacked their manager.

We hear a bit about Ange’s second season success. But very little about what happens in the third season. Is it possible to share what you saw happen in that 3rd year ? His record - reading the stats raw - suggest it all peaks and dies in the 3 year cycle.

He left! Haha. He promised a "dynasty" after his Brisbane team went 36 games unbeaten. And then left for a bigger club down south. He left Yokohama mid-season to go to Celtic. He was evasive (understandably) the days before a cup final as rumors swirled at Celtic and was gone in the next day or two to come here. He has been ruthlessly ambitious.

Just saying we probably wouldn't beat any of them right now. We play Everton on Sunday and nobody expects us to win yet we beat them 4-0 at home earlier in the season. Romero and VDV will make a big difference.

i've watched all his teams play, and there had been a clear and definate way they play. . His past system has relied on fast tricky wingers who can beat a man on the outside, overlapping full backs,

So when and how has he used inverted fulll backs in the past?

You can’t have an inverted FB who then starts overlapping. That doesn’t make much sense at all.

When did he start with the whole inverted FB thing?

Just guesswork really to try and make sense of this bizzare situation but anyone coming in might want a say on who is appointed next, for example rumours when Staveleys name was being mooted that she would want Eddie Howe. They were meant to be cutting the wage bill in the summer to make the books look good for any investors and again paying off Ange and his coaching team will increase costs plus any payout for a replacement. Maybe far fetched but has to be more realistic than them thinking Ange has any future here.
Yeah fair enough. I guess I just think that any higher position in the league (through increased TV and commercial revenue alone) we might get under a better manager would dwarf any eventual payment to Ange and his staff. I can't imagine he was given a huge wage, certainly nothing like the 17m Conte was reportedly on.

It's turning into Tottehamstring
Seriously, this is become a really serious concern now and it's half a season left...
Angelos said that many players in his previous clubs got hamstring injuries in their 1st season but by the 2nd season they got used to his methods....but at Spurs it's only getting worse in the 2nd season. Which shows Angelos' lack of understanding of EPL level fitness issues.

He did it against Tamworth and had played fewer minutes than most. Not sure this one can be attributed to Ange.

He started at Celtic but to support the wing-backs ( they're not full backs in his system) he had fast wingers who face forward, who could dribble and get crosses in the box eg Abada and Jota, to striker Kyogo that was very good at timing his runs and clinical with finishing. For the system to work he needs the fast wingers.

Would any other club in the PL or the Championship take Ange att the moment? I don't think so?
Depends on how this season finishes.

It he gets sacked before it ends then very unlikely.

If he survives it will be because results improved and probably he’s won a cup.

That happens and he’s got a 5th place finish without Kane and a trophy at Tottenham. Plenty of clubs would want a coach like that.

Hey Ange outers I have a question for you:

Is there anyway you'll want this manager to keep this job, like what can he do to change your mind realistically to gain your trust again from now until the end of the season? Or are you completely done with him no matter what?

No funny answers please, just curious. :)
I don't dislike the guy like some do and have genuinely wanted him to succeed; I don't ever want anyone to come to Spurs and fail. But he's just not got it at this level so I'm done with him.

If he goes tomorrow, I'll breathe a big sigh of relief but actually feel a bit sad for him (rather than roar with happiness and put out the 'Bye bye, loser' banner).

if he changed his tactics up and we started winning i’d tattoo his fat mug on my ass

And in Japan what formation did he tend to play?
Again using wing backs rather than full backs?

As for the CF Solanke is almost the polar opposite to Kyogo. So I’m guessing Ange has just evolved his style to take into account the sheer physical demands of the premier league.
Didn’t realise he was only 5’7 and 63kg. Don’t really see CFs in the premier league that size much.

When you say he needs fast wingers he bought in Werner and Johnson. The pair of them pace is their most significant attribute. So he’s clearly still working with that as a base idea.

i think the league didn’t know what to do with the overloads from the inverted fullbacks in those first ten matches. i recall udogie storming forward with no one on him. it worked until it didn’t. it just always looks like we have no one in the center of the pitch to either defend or help move the ball forward from defense. that’s my biggest issue with ange ball. you gotta have a strong midfield and can’t cede that space so freely. prem players make you pay

When so many of the injuries are hamstrings and hamstring recurrences, it's absolutely valid to look at the coach's methods. We are getting far too many soft tissue injuries. Newcastle from what I recall was more contact injuries and bad luck, with knees and ankles being damaged.
Newcastle were also

1) playing in the CL, so had to play their first team twice a week, something which we don't have to do.
2) they have a much smaller squad than us. Who here can name any of their back up back 4 without looking it up? Our back up back 4 (Gray/Dragusin/Spence/Reguilon) cost over 100m, easily more than their first choice back line cost.

Really dumb comparison.

Also remember Spurs had an injury crisis last year, when we had no European football at all? And—shock horror—it was all the centre backs again! Because they spend all the time sprinting back to their own goal and covering 40yards squared of open space!

He’s had 18 months and the club is worse than before. He hasn’t improved the players here. He’s proved he is out of his depth at this level. Nothing further needs to be seen.

Fucking hell this geezer chats so much shit. I'm glad he's enjoying himself, trying to overcome challenges. Because I can tell you us fans aren't enjoying it. Sorry but I am sick to the back teeth of this bloke just talk talk talk, whilst we constantly lose games. He's just a fucking blagger honestly. Talks a good game to the gullible who buy his bullshit, he's an absolute fraud. Honestly, the way he talks, this clown will take us down.

Ange Postecoglou insists he will ‘𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊” away as Tottenham boss and vows to keep “𝐅𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆” and says there’s ‘𝐍𝐎 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄’ he would rather be at:

”I understand how, externally, it may look and feel for somebody like me, but part of what I love about what I do is that there is this constant search for solutions and how to overcome challenges. I enjoy that bit.”

"I always reflect on the alternative, which is me not being involved. OK, maybe I look a bit younger and a bit more handsome, but I would be pretty bored. If I was sitting at home, I would be saying, ‘I wish I was there’. Knowing me, I probably would be saying, ‘I wish I was at Tottenham right now, I would love to see how we can get out of that situation’.”

"I understand that, externally, you’re probably going, ‘God, he must be living a nightmare at the moment’, but it’s not my existence. It’s a big challenge, I get it.

I’ve said before that the responsibility weighs heavily on me, I feel it. I feel the pain of it. I feel the disappointment of it, but I’m a fighter and this is where I want to be.”"I want to find a way to get us out of this so we can reap the rewards of the tough battles we’ve had, because of that context, it doesn’t affect me in the way that people may assume."”I think I’m better equipped to handle this now at my age than when I was younger. I feel like I have the energy still definitely to do the task. It’s not like I’m weighed down by it. It helps me in these kinds of situation.

”"For younger managers that is the challenge. There is such a short-term outlook on most things in life and particularly football these days. How do you withstand all these assertions on how you’re supposed to be doing your job, which is a constant now. You’re never given any breathing room to say, ‘oh well, let’s just see how this pans out’, it’s kind of more like, ‘no, this is not working there’s got to be change’.

Again, it comes down to individuals and upbringing.”"I'd be very surprised if there were any managers who don't have a real clear sort of idea of how they want their teams to play. There might be some flexibility in there but most of them. People tend to focus on the extremes of it.“

"For every manager, whether you're young, there's something you've got to cling on to when the inevitable tough times come and they come for everybody.”"There is not one person, one manager who won't go through tough times, who won't lose his job at some point. That happens to everyone.

You've got to have something to cling on. What do you believe in?”"If you don't and if you're just changing along the way all the time because of pressures then eventually what happens is you disappear. The ones who have never had anything to cling on may have a small presence in the game but then they quickly disappear if they've tried to chase something that they don't believe in."

“Whenever I’ve been in these situations, there are always things you try to change up, and we’ve tried to do things a little bit differently, certainly in my messaging the last few weeks. In the way we’re dealing with certain aspects.”"You’ll find most people in these positions are always trying to find a way to change the course of events and we’re all staying up late at night trying to figure out 'is there something I can do', but the one thing I do know is that there’s no miracle cure. Part of it is just turning up and fighting for what you believe in.

"So that stays consistent, but how you deliver that and how you prepare that can change at times, but you try to get as creative as you can to see if you can make an impact and that’s certainly the mode we’ve been in for the last month or so, how can we get this group through this tough time and how can we help them getting there."

He can start to save himself by winning tomorrow at Everton. We should be able to beat Everton no matter what. After that he needs to win v Leicester too. Draw or better vs Brenford. Draw or better vs Utd. Win vs Ipswich. Loss or better vs City.

The cups I would rotate courageously and hope for the best. That's what it would be like to actually "dare to do"- play Lankshear who is obviously so incapable he scored against Galatasaray. Start Moore. Play Reguilon. Play Dorrington.
