But we seem to have completely lost all those patterns of play and discipline.
We aren’t running that hard either

But we seem to have completely lost all those patterns of play and discipline.
It’s seems to me that Ange cant take the pressure and is collapsing under the weight and all the faults that we see in the players stem from that.
Yeah tbf, I typed my thoughts and didn’t realise how long it was getting.
On the plus side though we’ve just acted out Ange ball, you rushed forward and spoke about Anges greatness and the opposition took a bit longer to think about a response. That would have prompted you to counter, but in true Ange style you said you didn’t have time and made a slightly sarcy remark most likely as you headed into the tunnel having to be held back.
Not for the first time this season, it’s a Greek tragedy.
Were you asleep during 2008-12 and 2014-19?
Sorry to say Richard because you seem like a nice guy but this is just delusional, ahistorical bullshit.
It’s seems to me that Ange cant take the pressure and is collapsing under the weight and all the faults that we see in the players stem from that.
I know Son for example is getting on football wise but him and others are reacting to a massive lack of confidence, fragility and general weakness that stems from Ange, unfortunately…
As much as i cant stand Levy i highly doubt someone as thrifty and experienced as he is employed a 59 year old with no experience in a top league without some performance conditions written into the contract. At least you'd hope not.what 's he Big Deal with 12M quids to pay him out..?\
we are already paying Werner 8M quids a year just for him to play a cameo. He isn't even playing of late.

Ange payout
ANGE POSTECOGLOU is set for a massive payout if Tottenham decide to sack him.
The Australian’s future is in huge doubt after Spurs lost for the sixth time in their last seven matches on Sunday.
Should chairman Daniel Levy decide to sack Postecoglou though, it is sure to cost him a pretty penny.
Former Aston Villa CEO Keith Wyness told the Inside Track podcast that Big Ange is earning £5million-a-year on a four-year deal.
And with Postecoglou only being 18 months through it, Levy would have to shell out £12m to get rid of him right now.
And they know that they can comfortably do that because, for all we lump players forward, there's not a great deal of threat. The pattern I see is numerous teams finding us easy to play against because all you have to do is sit in, let us run very high up the pitch toward you and if you play out, you’re in.
The problem is, as you say, we like to physically dominate teams, but this is why it’s basically moron ball at this point, because everyone else has worked this out and they know we have nothing else to offer. You don’t have to physically dominate us, you have to out think us, we’ve lost 13 out of 23 games this season, lots of people out think us. Villa and City are the only teams in the top half we’ve beaten this season.
A team like Southampton, low on confidence, losing to let’s face it basically everyone. We can go there and we can dominate them because they’re so bereft of any real care at this point because they know they’re long gone. Look at the teams we have actually dominated, in the most part it’s the poorer teams, and once we’ve scored one, because they’re poor, we’ve gone on to grab a few. It’s buffed our goal difference stats well because a lot of our goals have come when we’ve scored 3 or 4 against a poor team.
It isn’t as simple as because we can’t physically dominate, it’s when we come up against managers who have actually thought about it. If you basically get your team to sit a little deeper, and just wait we will give you chances all day long. We will get high up the field and then tap it about in front of the box, defend well and eventually someone tries a wild pass which is cut out. Problem is, everyone except a CB and maybe whoever is given the death knell of playing as the 6 that day are all that stands between the other team and our keeper. One decent pass and you’re away.
You’re right, a lot of our game relies on us trying to be physically dominant. Even that though isn’t well set up, if you watch us press, we actually do it in a very disorganised way, teams play along their back line and Son, for instance, goes running after them, as the ball gets moved away from him, you then see Solanke do the same, until it moves over to Johnson who follows suit. Problem is, very often you see that they don’t press together. They press solo onto whoever has the ball, the play gets moved around and quite often teams simply play out. So our press is knackering our players out because there’s no support, it makes the opposition think quickly, but doesn’t result in them ceding possession as often as it should because our disorganised way of pressing leaves gaps to play through.
The bigger problem is that whilst this is happening in front of them, our midfield are basically told to stand high up the pitch as well. So when our disorganised press is beaten, there’s this huge green square in behind us which is why we so often see strikers with the ball in our area, and up to about 20 yards out and our nearest defender is sprinting after them from some ridiculous position.
We DO struggle against organised teams because they can see that all we have is our managers ‘principle’. There’s not a lot there to suggest they have really been coached into how to do it properly, they just do it as if they read what he’s after on a post it note so there’s no cohesion to us.
You can watch basically any of our games, numerous times you see groups of our players caught in one part of the field, numerous times you see three or four attackers running into deep, open spaces behind our defence on transitions.
A lot of our fans have been conned into thinking that we play this cavalier attacking football because there’s lots of goals in our games, we don’t, we play school playground football which originally shocked everyone for the first ten games (and even then it struggled against real quality such as Liverpool) however after those ten games the league basically said “oh… that really is it, that is literally all they do” and simply adapted. We play poorly coached, poorly thought out, poorly executed football and this is why we have lost the majority of our games. All we want to do is bully teams, and we’ve only managed it seven (seven!) times this season.
lol this is literally your life on this forumNice people don't spend literally all their time quoting people and arguing.
Then you have our muppet. Never utters a word about positioning, tactical adjustments, pressing, structure, never says a single insightful thing about the sport he spends all day watching. Just the same old guff about effort, being together as a team.
Has he ever made a good tactical change in his life, a substitution where you've felt "yeah, this guy really gets what he's seeing on the pitch"? No. It's "oh we're losing, better sub our entire midfield" - something no competent manager has ever done in the history of this sport as far as I'm aware.
And Dier famously said he doesn't do any tactics. People wrote this off back then - is anyone surprised about it now?
It's becoming eminently clear this man is a pub level manager, who doesn't think deeply about this sport one iota. He'd be on a building site if he wasn't involved in the game. He's a charlatan of the highest order. And is absolutely sinking this club right now, and has hoodwinked half the fanbase in the process.
I've put all the people who argue on ignore.
I honestly just think he's a bit of a thicko.I am pretty sure that he has used word "tactic" in his interviews.
Something along the lines "I will not change my tactics."
I specially agree on the post match comments. I mean literally... after every loss recently.. we hear same thing. "Yea, it is tough one to take. I feel that we played well most of the game. I think we created enough chances to win the game (!). Players gave everything they could, I could not ask for more from them really. But unfortunately today we fell short." . Like - what the fuck.
Regarding making changes- I have to say, there are moments where he has gotten things right. Like for example, was it a West Ham game? Where he took off Madders and brought on Sarr on the half time? And fortunes turned.
Though I have to say that this just seems as accident. It happened, it helped us win the game. But worst part is - he learned nothing from it.
I arrived to exact same conclusion watching our EL games. We started off with strongly roatated lineups for lesser opposition. Youngsters and squad players tried their best and we got pretty decent wins against likes of AZ Alkmaar and Quarabag etc. In Galatasaray game we still followed the pattern. OK we lost. OK, we did not look good. But I personally was 100% OK with that game and the fact we lost it too. It is a price you sometimes pay. And you HAVE TO take some risks. Not in his view I suppose though... cause then in Rangers and Roma games we absolutely went out with strongest possible side. Result? Two miserable draws! Roma one represented first game on home ground in Europa League in 10 years we did not win. Why? Just why? Why writing off likes of Lankshear. Why not give more minutes to Bergvall. Why not try include some other players (for example Dorrignton or Olusesi) ? Hoffenheim game already was in different situation with really not much to pick from. But earlier ones? Or the FA Cup game against non-league sides. Not giving a go to Lankshear (using TIMO WERNER! ahead of him - wtf) - I just don't get it.
I just cannot see much real logic and looking into future from him. It is all nervous twitching all around. Sad to see honestly.
Yeah he'll get that and Villa now. Then a week until the Utd game so if they're going to do it it will be after Villa if we lose both. Shame it will screw our season but whats writing off another season to Danny boy.Anyone else hearing that he's safe until at least the Liverpool game?

AZ was not good. We had Forster to thankI am pretty sure that he has used word "tactic" in his interviews.

Is it possible that AngeOut is now no longer cool and the counter-culture is AngeIn?
