Though I would also say that it's a cautionary note about changing tactics too sharply when your squad is a bunch of knackered teenagers.

We had two teenagers in the lineup. Two. One of which didn’t need to be in it at all because we didn’t need to play a 5 back. Both teenagers are exceptional and cost good money. They aren’t some random youth products.

The rest of the lineup had players Everton could only dream of - Kulu, Maddison, Son, Porro. Even the likes of Dragusin, Sarr and Spence start week in week out for them.

We subbed on the 60m player they sold to us, their star, by far the best football player they had.

Ah but when all the players are back we will be flying up the league.
Only problem is you get one or two back and another one or two will replace them and that is as close to a fact as possible.
Who's next Gray or Kulu or Porro..,all flogged.
Why can't one of Levy's well paid team of executives point out that what he is doing to the team is unsustainable.
Did anyone see Kulu as he went down the tunnel on Sunday?
This rumour that he hasn't lost the dressing room is laughable.

But that's the thing, leave to one side the question of how much it's Ange's fault that those players are knackered shadows of themselves.

They are knackered shadows of themselves. On the day Porro is not a better player than Mykolenko, Kulu is not a better player than Lindstrom, because those guys are running on fumes.

We need fit players. Ange may have to go to make that happen. Ange may not be good enough even with fit players. But we need fit players.

This man has actually put me in a frame of mind that I have never, ever felt before. Can't believe I'm saying this but I'd prefer the team to lose so we can rid of him and halt the downward spiral...even if it's Ryan
..there...I've said it...incoming abuse fully expected..

Please tell me how can it be considered trolling if the thread is entirely neutral?

It's a fair point, even though you're doing your level best to dismiss it it doesn't make it any less fair!
it's trolling because you didn't post that to further the discussion or add something new. you posted it because you knew other posters "wouldn't like it." that's trolling. it's the same flawed shit over and over and over. again, what are you trying to achieve? we get it, we know what you think, shadystan. i don't think we need a hundred more posts on how good you think we were before injuries or how bad of fans we are for thinking 16th place is signs of trouble for the manager

Ignore him. This entire forum sees him for what he is. A coward who dips in, stirs the pot then fucks off under a rock when we get beat. He knows everything about nothing.

This isn't true, I posted it to further the discussion and it's probably the reason why the board are keeping him on, if you think about it!

I knew Deuterz wouldn't like it because he was done with Ange a long time ago as he keeps protesting but he isn't the only one in here. More to the point is I couldn't give a flying fuck if 99% of people in here don't like it, that's on you. If you don't like it either move on or ignore it, as I said before it's a neutral thread - you don't own it just because there's some anti Ange circle jerk in here or whatever but if I don't want to be apart of your little fan club then so be it - you're gonna have to deal with it

This conversations is quite funny though, I have to admit. :ledley:

A manager who is starstruck by an all time great footballer who played at a time when 4-2-4 was considered a groundbreaking formation was always going to create a team that cannot control matches in any meaningful sense of the term. Not at this level at least. How could it be otherwise?

Some people were rightfully emphasizing how isolated Bentancur was in midfield against Leicester. Under Ange this is not a one-off situation that was caused by certain things going horribly wrong though. It's the common fate that will fall on whoever is picked as DM in a given day. This high variance, end to end football that we've been watching for the majority of the last 18 months is mostly by design. Ange simply believes that, no matter how many chances and goals you allow at the other end, as long as you create enough chances of your own you'll be fine in the long run. Except you're doomed as soon as chances and goals start to dry up for whatever reason. You might even end up getting 1 point from 7 league matches, while getting outplayed by relegation fodders.

He thinks this spell is just a bump in the road, but in reality his approach has always been built on sand. This injury crisis only acted as a catalyst.

like i said you're winding up people for laughs on a subject they care deeply about. bye shadystan

I am becoming increasingly convinced Ange bears some responsibility for our injury crisis which is really sapping my will to continue defending him, but I find criticisms of him that completely ignore the injury crisis to be very bizarre.

Different management may have averted or better managed availability through this crisis, different management might have nicked an extra point here or there (and that matters), but no manager on earth is getting a tune out of the totally exhausted dozen bodies Ange has left.
Hes 50-60% responsible for those injuries so he needs to carry that amount of blame. We played 41 games last year and he said we werent playing enough games!! We still had a massive crisis. So something isnt adding up. And its not just the medical department

I don’t know about that. They only played about 14 games together last season. The first 10 games then a few others - Ugodie missed the last 8 games of the season or something too.

Micky only played 11 games this season. It’s definitely less than 20 of Ange’s games he’s been able to start his first choice back 4.
In fairness having to depend on your first choice team being available every game is madness too. And a lot of it is down to ange that we cant play them.
Udogie has been poor since about Jan last year as has Romero. Who has cost us loads of goals early in season.
Vdv barely played and is used as a 100m sprinter. Porro played to death and form has dropped off a cliff as a response.

Apologies bit of a tangent and not having a go at your comment 😂
