Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Really need players back, if only to have a clearer bearing on whether or not it’s the injuries that’s the main problem. I have my own doubts over the sustainability of Ange’s approach, especially in the Premiership and with our ownership, but the Ange In/Ange Out thing will drag on until we can see an extended run and results with a more healthy squad.

His positioning is where the fabled "double inverted fullback" is supposed to be though.

Our problems are so repeated, so often, there's no way it's just brainfarts from individuals.
It happens too often to be that. Its what there being told to do and I just think it confuses the hell out of them. I feel sorry for the centre back and midfielders. Where are they suppose to be when we lose the ball and being attacked. Its suppose to be a fluid system but, how can you defend when there's a 4 on 2 outnumbered. I don't blame the full backs either there told to be up supporting the attack

There’s been 8 injuries since November, and the squad has barely been training since then. So it has nothing to do with the way we train.
As for running them in to the ground, there’s not many options when no one else is fit to play.

I think Levy will give Ange the season then reassess.
Training includes rest and repair, or it should.

We saw exactly the same last season, early season promise then as spate of injuries, Maddison not being able to withstand the intensity and never the same player since. Van Der Ven succumbing to injury and it becoming profound as it recurred. Brain farts left right and centre as such Oxygen demand on the body begins to starve the brain (Romero particularly this season, Porro bless him), with nobody able to expel such huge amounts of CO2 this system and structure demands:

We have a lacking nutritional savvy, but nothing that could make up for this insane load the players are under (excellent screenshots given over and over of our structure in game putting the whole team in an impossible framework to succeed, highest intensity in and out of possession for sprints).

To somehow say none of this is on the Coach is surreal levels of supporter Stockholm syndrome.

If the coaching setup are ignoring sprint metrics, that’s on the coach, if they are ignoring injuries and fatigue and still playing exhausted players that’s on the coach (the utter beaming red flag here is - Scarlett, Ajayi and Moore all scoring in Europe recently, when the first team couldn’t, Tamworth matched us, as our squad lacks all vitality required to allow their technical superiority to prove any worth, TAMWORTH).

Sorry, but you are on a hiding to nothing supporting this.

The only reason the (ever lessening) mass are still supporting Ange, is due to our history of failure and cull the manager when Levy and ENIC are seen as more culpable, yet this time we have a manager who is destroying asset after asset and jeopardising our longer term ability to recover as a group.

Time to move on, jettison the Manager and overhaul all the back room come the summer.

Some bloke on SC just said last night was the first time he's started to question Ange.

It's like letting your wife have four affairs and then picking her up on the fifth.

Did agree with Ange about media going in tough on us and mentioning liverpool having bad result. Them, gooners, man u are untouchable by media and pundits slamming them. However villa lost both their centre-backs yesterday. Think ange will go end of season.
We may all think whatever we want about Ange, and what he said at that presser.

BUT finally a Spurs manager calling out the press/pundits for what they are, biased, Spurs-hating, fanboy cunts!!!

Gardening leave would surely mean paying out his contract in full? Guess if we sack him it’s the same case. Ange can just refuse to go I guess which essentially adds up to the same conclusion.

Yes and no. You can tell an employee to take time off on full pay pending further discussions.
Once you've paid them, you've paid them.
The benefit of the former is that you can quickly remove them from the role and replace them, whilst considering the best/most economical way to terminate their employment.
For example, we could agree to continue to pay him monthly until such time his contract runs out OR he finds other employment.
He could feasible get another job 2 weeks later and we don't need to carry on paying his multimillion pound salary.

So it looks like he is going to get the Utd game at least then.

We've got all week for once. I wouldn't expect much to happen this morning after a Sunday evening game.

Poch's sacking was announced in the evening on a Tuesday (Nov 19th)
IIRC his last game was Sheff Unitfled on the 9th and there was an international break.
So 10 days from his last game.
Don't expect Postenoclue to get sacked less than 24 hours after his last poor showing.

Here we go again. This starts with a Bentancur turnover, but notice how 6 players are caught behind the play in the blink of an eye. Including 3 CMs -players closest to the ball- that start sprinting back at full speed to salvage the situation. More importantly, look at all that space in the centre of the pitch. Literally 2 seconds later, it turns into this;

This time defensive line is higher up the pitch so the gap in between is not as big as it was during that Tielemans miss in the 17th minute. But still, the player running with the ball is almost guaranteed to have a decent go at it in a few seconds. In fact that's what happens;

This is Sunday league stuff. It's virtually impossible to concede less than 2 a match defending like this. Since no manager will have his team score around 3 a match at this level, achieving any kind of sustainable success with this kind of coaching is a pipedream. Numbers don't add up.

So, noticed that Ange has “Life Water” in his presser. Thought to myself “Oh, maybe they are changing, let’s look up what this water is…”.

After 10minutes search, it’s only really available on eBay… then there is no mineral/ingredient listing, apart from one which shows zero on everything (but doesn’t list nitrate), no pH value (usually a water such as distilled will be slightly acidic, however has potential health benefits as being the “Wettest water”, empty, so have more binding potential to waste, but when used by athletes that is very sophisticated and needs to be on R&R days with high amounts of mineral foods of whole food based supplements to restock the alkaline minerals this will deplete whilst removing waste).

Searched “Life Water Mineral Composition” and literally can’t find anything, now maybe this is Villas water given to him, but if so it shows no understanding or knowledge in this vital area, so a lose anyway.

We are rubbish. Get Icelandic, get Kangen, Choose Life.

Simply can not believe he's still in employment. I don't even like the guy, particularly after his comments before Woolwich at home last year. He's one grumpy, tetchy, aloof bastard, and cracking the odd joke doesn't disguise it. Could tolerate his personality if he was in any way competent, but we are a shambles under him.

if we can't get Xavi then who would be your next pick?

Yeah it's a tough one.

They don't have long to do it if they are going to make a change without sabotaging the new guy before he starts. So, it needs to be an unemployed one otherwise they will just fuck about negotiating the buyout from the club.

Terzic is out of work and coming from Dortmund you know he's used to the culture of trusting young players. I know he fell out with the Dortmund players over tactics at the end and it all went the same way as Poch did for us but that's the dice you probably have to roll if you are going to do it.

So it looks like he is going to get the Utd game at least then.
The double whammy of Spurs depression, watching another 90 minutes of absolute dross, and then the aftershock 24 hours later when you realise that this clown will still be picking the side for the next match.
Here are some games where we had Romero and VDV.

Wolves (h) 1-2
Newcastle (a) 4-0
Woolwich (h) 2-3
Chelsea (a) 2-0
Liverpool (a) 4-2
Leicester (a) 1-1
Woolwich (h) 0-1
Brighton (a) 3-2
Crystal Palace (a) 1-0

Others like Fulham 3-0 and Ipswich 1-2 Romero played. In a nutshell we've been shit for a year. It doesnt really matter who plays, the minimal tactics have been rumbled and its got progressively worse. Of course better players help a bit but its clearly the system thats the issue.
The key players are just about good enough to cover the flaws in the "system", but they're not superhuman, the results are patchy at best. They most certainly do not thrive in the system.

If the excuse of injuries were to be justifiable, you'd want to watch matches and see the system in play but maybe results not being so great due to the lesser quality trying to implement it.

We're not seeing that, it's utter chaos, very difficult to figure out what on Earth the players are trying to do, which to me means either the coaching is below standard, or the players have given up entirely.

If you take the players' words at face value and they are behind him, then the only logical conclusion is that the coaching team are inept.
