Yes Levy interferes with some decisions but most decisions when it comes to transfers are the recruitment teams.Great post.
Agree with everything you say.
If you look at what happened to both Jol and Redknapp, before the stadium build, they either had their best players sold, before or after they were sacked, or were not given the players they wanted / needed to build the squad.
Levy was distracted with the stadium build when Poch delivered the best results any ENIC manager has ever produced. Four consecutive Champions League qualifications, two genuine title challenges and a Champions League final. All achieved without players being added during consecutive transfer windows.
Once the miser had time on his hands, after the stadium re-build, to intefere in the football side again, Poch was sacked and Jose broke up Poch's team. Jose did the same job Juande Ramos did to Jol's team.
In other words; Levy's meddling sets managers up to fail every time he gets involved.
In industry it's called constructive dismissal but it is hard to prove.
Levy pays well for silence.
I strongly suspect that Ange was recruited because he will comply with Levy's bullshit regarding intefering in everything.
Including team selection in my opinion.
THFC need to be rid of Levy if winning trophies is ever going to be our serious ambition.
Anyone feeling sympathy for Levy would do well to remember the humiliating manner of Martin Jol's sacking.
ENIC and Levy need to go.
Levy will need persuading because he believes THFC belongs to him.
Not the same as you must understand. That's a competition where all the best teams are welcomed.Wigan and Portsmouth won the FA Cup this century so I'm glad we were knocked out of that too so we're not associated with them!
It's a second rate competition. Nations league of European football. I don't think it's acceptable to be so poor in the league even if you manage to win a competition for the smaller clubs.I don’t know what you are even trying to say here but if you don’t want to win trophies that’s fine. I think it’s a weird stance to take as a Spurs fan but you do you mate
That's all good and nice memories I bet but the cups were different back then. Not the washed out versions that we have today. Too many teams and too little prestige now. All about making as much money as possible. And then that wasn't even enough so they created a third European cup.I make Seville having won it 7 times, and us winning it for what would be the 3rd time 3/7th's, but you do you.
And I was there for both legs when we won that competition in 1984, and out in Ajax and Madrid in 2019.
Winning UEFA Cup was bigger and more memorable achievement than losing to Liverpool in final (although to be fair, won't ever forget the Ajax night). In fact in Amsterdam had lunch with Kaveh Solekul, he said to me "this must be Spurs biggest ever match", the CL Semi, I said "no, any final is bigger than any semi"
All about opinion. Winning the nations league or getting into a world cup final in international football.![]()
The Europa is a great tournament to win.
Second tier to CL for sure but it gets the winners into the CL and it’s the stuff that European failures like Woolwich would love to have in their trophy cabinet.
It would be the greatest achievement of this club since 1984..
Getting to a CL final and losing is not the same as winning a major trophy.
nothing gets by you brooklyn. you're prime llorisYou've let him get away with responding to your question with a question of his own, and avoiding yours

With them starting in the competition proper (ie not dropping out of the champions league) every year as they finished 9th, 5th and 5th in La Liga, and facing champions league drop outs themselves too. Ridiculous really.Unai Emery won it 4 times, 3 with Sevilla, is just incredible.
See, that's the warped logic that sets everyone but a select few up for a fall...It's a second rate competition. Nations league of European football. I don't think it's acceptable to be so poor in the league even if you manage to win a competition for the smaller clubs.
I want to compete with the big teams and not settling for a cup nobody really cares about.
I care only about the league, the FA Cup and the champions league. The rest are all second rate. Better to win than not but not something to strive for.
You're forgetting there always USED to be a Third European Trophy... the wonderfully named European Cup Winners Cup... simply because if you won it,you get to become the Cup Winners Cup winners!!!That's all good and nice memories I bet but the cups were different back then. Not the washed out versions that we have today. Too many teams and too little prestige now. All about making as much money as possible. And then that wasn't even enough so they created a third European cup.
Winning the euros or losing a World Cup final is more of an accurate analogy. And I’d 100% prefer England to win the euros than lose in a WC final. Nobody remembers the losers. All about opinion. Winning the nations league or getting into a world cup final in international football.
I know what I would prefer.
And playing a final on the biggest stage is something a club like West Ham could only dream of but they sure have a recent European victory.
You can hear the flag waving r/coys and Twitter types bleating this nonsense all over the land today.the injuries saved his job. he would've been sacked as we fell away from top 6 if there wasn't an excuse to prop him up. then things got too bad to salvage any kind of good league position so levy decided to ride it out

no i'm assuming we would have slipped away from europe spots and he'd be sacked to turn that aroundWeird way to look at it. If anything it exacerbated the poor performances and hence the pressure on Ange.
Also you're assuming the results we've had would have been same IF there were no injuries.
Jose won it with United!Unai Emery won it 4 times, 3 with Sevilla, is just incredible.
