This is something a Spurs head-coach - and his coaching staff & medical staff - should have known from day 1 and not take almost 2 seasons to figure out! Ok, at least he's ready to change the routine this really shows his lack of experience with top-level coaching

Ange Postecoglou has explained the reason behind the bold call he made this week, opting to give his Tottenham players extra time off ahead of the Ipswich Town clash.
In the past six months, Tottenham Hotspur has been competing on four fronts. The Lilywhites have featured in the Europa League, Premier League, FA Cup and went all the way to the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.
Ange Postecoglou gives Tottenham squad two days off
With the Lilywhites now out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, the amount of games left for the north London club to play has significantly reduced.
Instead of playing every three days, Tottenham Hotspur now have periods where they have a complete week to prepare for a game.
One such time was this week, were the manager handed a few days off to his players ahead of their clash against Ipswich Town.
When asked why he decided to do so, Ange Potestocoglou told football.london: “I think it helps enormously because, I mean, there’s obviously the physical toll, which we kind of know and just their bodies being able to recover as much as anything else.
“And then, you know, like I said, mentally it does. It takes its toll because you don’t invariably get a lot of time to switch off when you’ve got games constantly because, again, you’re in recovery mode and then you’ve got to prepare for another game.
“You don’t really have the energy to do anything else. So, you know, home life probably suffers a fair bit and the ability to switch off is difficult. So we gave the boys two days off at the beginning of last week. We did a similar thing this week.”
Spurs players are clearly benefiting from days off
After handing his players a couple of days off against Manchester United, the Lilywhites managed to secure a narrow 1-0 win.
Ange Postecoglou now believes that his players are benefiting from having a few days off, he continued: “And yes, I think you can see that in them that both physically and mentally they’ve really benefited from it.
“And sort of hopefully that means that the remnants of that long run has dissipated in their minds as much as in their bodies.
“But it’s also allowed us then to really train well because when they do come back in, they’re refreshed, they feel good and it means our training has become so much more sort of meaningful in the last two weeks.”
Guardiola also coming out with similar and saying his players can’t hack playing every three days. Easier for him to say though when he’s won it all.
