I'm still not convinced that he is the man for the job, but I so want him to prove me wrong.
Our league position is a disgrace, and even with our issues, we should not be losing against the likes of Ipswich and Leicester at home.
However, should this be the start of an upturn in our results and IF (and it's a big if) we manage to win the EL, then I think he deserves to stay.

For sure. And FWIW I completely agree that all we've seen in these last 3 wins is green shoots. Nothing more. But given the season so far it's better than the salt ridden desert littered with the bones of our best players as they rot in the injury tent. So it's worth smiling about
I think what made me bite on that last post was the reference to the Cup exits. Those were brutal. Especially the FA Cup for me - because while I don't think we have what it takes to win EL I did (perhaps weirdly?) have hopes for the FA Cup given we have shown that in our day we can beat anyone in the prem.
So I do think it's harsh that we had Liverpool and Villa both away and with all our best defenders, keepers and goal scorers missing. I don't think those should be included in the otherwise abject misery of the season.
Anyway to a thirsty man even piss tastes great - so these last three league wins are somewhat of an oasis
But none of this moves the dial on the manager. Or at least it shouldn't.

When you say the guy. What exactly are your expectations?
I look at our squad and it’s about 5-9th in the league taking into account your average injury list per season in a premier league side.
You have our fans lauding emery, Howe etc and they have largely had an injury free season (with Howe playing far less games) and they are both likely to finish outside of champions league and in villas case, maybe conference league.
How is that much better than Ange given the tools at their disposal
Ahhh Rooster - whilst I am Antipodean, I have followed the EPL for decades, and even lived on White Hart Lane. Great times!
You should be thankful that whilst Tottenham fans like to think they're a deserving club (and they are successful financially and with support), having Ange on board allows the growth of interest in the club, unless of course you're xenophobic.
Tottenham have either being medicore for years, OR underachieved for years... but I am not sure which one it is... what's your take?

I'm sure when with other non english managers were installed, this forum would have had other nationalities following the club, and posting their thoughts? Unless of course, English wasn't their first language.
Anyway... it seems you are interested in my history, as you searched what I like to post on. So to give some further context, I too have followed a team that for nigh on 50 years failed to have success (after being very successful in the 50's and 60's) and finally won a trophy/premiership in 2021. The relief was palpable.
This forum reads EXACTLY the same as that forum (Demonland)... the same gnashing of teeth about the capability of the manager, the same posturing about who has more right to support a club. The same people going off the 'eye-test' versus those using 'data' in how they wish to interpret whether the club can win something or not. The same wringing of hands when there is a slump, the same failing to take into account how injuries impact performance, or other contextual nuances....etc etc.
Following sport is the same around the world... Setting a club up for success is the same around the world.
It needs stability and it needs an environment that promotes learning and psychological safety when learning...
Ange is a proven winner... and whilst there is a strong yearning for immediate success from the fan base... growth is NEVER linear, as much as we would like it to be... I can only imagine the reasons, the players are still playing for him... And whilst they are, then he is the right manager at this given point in time.

I think Ange will be given next season irrespective of results now. As long as we don’t go into freefall I should say. A quarter or semi in the EL and a finish around 8th in the PL, he’s safe.
Remember Levy signed him for 4 years. Ange is known as a project manager and Levy would have been sold that from Ange. It’s the one time Levy will actually show some restraint and try have some stability. He knows Ange is instilling cultural change. Plus the injury crisis has given him some leeway this season.
Wish him gone all you like, you’re going to be disappointed.
Not sure its that set tbh. I think he needs a dramatic turn in results to get next season. Would need a top half finish and to make Europa semis at a minimum.
But completely agree with you about this place been totally out of touch with reality when wishing him to be sacked mid season. There was genuine hysteria about us being in a relegation scrap and needing to bring in Sean Dyche a few weeks ago. Honestly you have to just laugh at some of the stuff you see on here.
I think he'll be lucky to get next season tbh. He'll need a dramatic improvement in results so that it was obvious the injury crisis was the main factor in our terrible spell. I hope he can turn it around but he's up against it

I’m not a mathematician but anyone tell me how many points a game, in the games he’s played, and what that would be on the ladder, if he’d played every game for Vicario, against the combined foster, Austin, Kinsky combo?
By my rough calcs we’d be top four if Vicario had played every game at the same points per game, and equal with Ipswich/leciester based on the three headed monster we’ve had to play in his spot.

Since his return, Vic has been massive. It's not just the goalkeeping, it's the leadership on the pitch.
Still can’t say I am sold on him even with the uptick in results in the league recently but he’s guaranteed himself the job until summer so we might as well get behind him.

Suppose more the last two games when Vicario, Maddison and Johnson have come back. The point that returning players have helped.
Ange is absolutely not known as a project manager. His club jobs have been 2-3 years before he moves on.
He has no body of work to show that he can develop a young team over 4+ years. He’s very much a “win now” manager just from a much lower level than we’ve had before.
If there is a club buyout i think ange will be first out the door.
