Fair chance we could have a fully fit squad from next week onwards. Since getting his players back, the results have instantly improved so hopefully it continues to trend this way.

I'm amazed by how many people didn't see this coming but we are here now so lets move forward together. On the same point, Ange has no excuses now for not getting consistent results with this squad available. We should be going through in Europa while also moving up the prem table most weeks. Thats how it works. No agendas, no taking sides, we finally have a fair playing field!

Lol this post is possibly one of the most disingenuous things I've ever seen on here.

First, smug poorly concealed brag that "I cant believe how thick you guys were, we're actually AMAZING when we're fit!" and then a "lets move forward together now I've got that out the way".

You really added nothing new with this post. Maybe stick to posting inane gifs in the positivity thread every time we beat a team in the relegation zone? Idk.

I thought results would improve. I imagine most did. It would be borderline impossible for Ange to stay 16th with a fit Spurs squad - one of us could manage the team and probably not be down there as the quality we possess is too high. It won't improve to the point I change my mind on him, and I'm not happy with the way he steered us through challenges. Is that ok?

BTW there will be very few points in a top teams season where a side is fully fit, playing only once a week and with no other issues. You will be a very lucky coach for this to happen. Slot is probably the only manager in the top 6 benefitting from this consistently so far.

Not sure you're in a position to talk about people being smug or bragging tbf. Somehow you manage to do this in pretty much every single one of your posts.

As for 'I thought results wold improve'. No you didn't. No, you fucking did not. Why lie?

Don Pedro has absolutely roasted ya, so accept it.

Mate, there's quite a difference between not having a side fully fit and essentially losing the spine of the team for months.

Not true! There was a relegation thread on here where people were convinced if we didn't sack Ange we would go down. I always argued we would be fine when we got our players back... I would get abused at by you and others pointing out how we lost to palace and ipswich when most players were available so why would things change. I think I'm entitled to feel a bit justified here.

I'm not trying to come accross smug. I genuinely want us all on the same page. BTW I'm not even Ange In for next season, I just always thought he deserved to finish this season and atleast get a fair shot when his players were back!

God you really have it in for me. The positivity thread stuff is just a laugh, ignore the thread if it gets on your nerves so much.

Aussie Angie fanboi?
First part is right. I watched those three games as I do all the socceroos games. You need to keep things in context. They were against Chile, Holland and Spain. The scores were 3.1 3.2 and 3.0. Scared the crap out of the Dutch. It was amazing we actually took three goals against that lot with an aging Timmy Cahill as a striker and a bunch of football journeymen. That's where Ange instilled the kamikaze tactics. Like the first year at Spurs. The payoff was the Asian cup win. (Let's see if I can segue this into a jibe assuming you're English. Continental title number 5 for Australia. How many Continental titles does England have?) What's the payoff for Spurs. Who knows. In the past Ange has said that sometimes things don't go according to plan. He said that of his third year in Japan. Who knows. You need to be patient. You might be surprised.

Go away before we both end up in the sin bin again, don’t know why you still bother with these sort of posts as it never ends well for anyone. Sort your head out.

Yeah there’s literally zero excuses for losing to Leicester at home or the sort of results we were racking up, spine or not.

Ange had the personnel to grind through that period with us struggling but not completely sunk. His failure to see us through it at all means our league season is over.

I wouldn’t expect top 4 form with those injuries, I also wouldn’t expect us to be in relegation form for an extended period of time. Wasn’t good enough and isn’t justifiable.

Of course we are now better. Better being we can scrape together some results. That’s still not nearly what we wanted when this season started.

He'll be gone in May if he doesn't make it work from here.
Can't get excited about beating Ipswich I'm afraid...

Just had to clarify a few of your points for you. I'll assume you now agree with me, and no need to apologise - all is forgiven brosef.

Agreed but we'd have lost to them a few weeks ago when we were missing 10 players and playing the same team every 3 days.

Many fans didn't factor in this injury situation as the reason for our poor form and even started worrying that we could finish behind a team like Ipswich and get relegated. Full thread about it! There is your context.

Don...you're the most optimistic poster on this forum..kudos to you...

Which is fucking shit regardless of injuries, playing against Elfsborg or Tamworth shouldn’t be that straining and we should still be able to beat teams with 2-3 wins all season long with the players we had.

Not hard to grasp, this. Injuries hurt us but Ange allowed it to escalate to crisis levels. Results like losing to Ipswich AT HOME when we had a near fully fit team didn’t help either.

You won't get a disagree from me regarding Leicester, but you can't just brush off losing an entire spine, literally no other team has had to deal with that, and it's showed.

I'm not expecting you to change your mind on AP, there's nothing there to back that up yet. As I see it though, it's been a cataclysmic domino effect that our injury crisis has essentially caused.

Yes we had some poor results when we had most of the team fit initially, but every team gets them. Things just went totally to shit when we were losing two to three players after each subsequent game. We'll never know if we would have built up a winning momentum after some of those poor results, because the injury situation just got worse after each game. I've followed Spurs since the early 70's and I've never seen a situation like it, for us or anyone else.

Lose one or two key players and you're likely to struggle somewhat, look at the filth when they lost just Saliba last season, then Odegaard earlier this season, and now Saka. They didn't lose all of them at the same time, yet struggled regardless in those games where each individual was missed. They're key players, yet they don't make up the spine of their side, apart from Saliba that is. We lost the lot!

What I struggle with is the inability, or refusal of some, to take all of these aspects into account. Getting out of a losing streak is a difficult enough task when your team is fit, ours has been exacerbated by the fact that a good half of our squad was in the treatment room for months, with the larger part of that being our spine and other key players. It impacts everything from the fitness of those remaining, to the mentality of the whole. Doesn't matter what level you are or have played at, anyone who's been in that scenario will tell you this.

Anyway, we can but hope that we are now moving out of that and building the confidence and momentum back. It's amazing just how much the Football improves when you start getting that winnings feeling.

95% of teams lose games they have no excuse to every season - every single one mate

you cannot support any team bar maybe 2 in the country where this isn't a reality.

SO yes we have lost games where there has been no excuse to lose them - but MOST of our games there are pretty valid excuses. It doesnt mean Ange should get a pass - but it is disingenuous to not at least concede the above.

We have lost far too many games we have no excuse to this season. And you can’t just write off all the ones that happened whilst we had injuries as not mattering because we had injuries. That’s insane.

Bottom line - Ange has failed to steer the team to acceptable results, regardless of why. Unless he wins the Europa league, he should be finished here.

I agree with you on your last point. I just never liked the kneejerk idea of sacking him mid season. We'd have our players back now and could be winning games under Potter/Benetiez/Dyche/Moyes or whoever else was mentioned but ultimately we'd have the wrong man in charge going into next season.

Excuse me. If he is a fraud and out of his league winning the EL will not change that.

Or it will?

Ange has had a very large hand in his own injury crisis- poor squad construction, refusal to rotate, strange subs that seem to harm player fitness, running favorites into the ground, rushing players back from injury. It's not reasonable to state that the injury crisis is simply an incredible bit of unluck.
