This Iraola shiny object isn’t the messiah! Bournemouth have been bang average for weeks now but we still think this guy will take us back up the league. Fucking nonsense. He might prove to be a really good manager and would do a better job job than Ange but he’s a massive gamble as well.
But that's the problem ...
They're ALL gambles now...

We tried the GUARANTEED WINNERS model with Mourinho & Conte... I a really fell for it... I truly believed that - despite the football - if we can put up with it for a Season or two, there WOULD be a Trophy at the end to show for it.

We HAD that chance, and Levy sacked him...

Conte merely said what we're all thinking, but he didn't give a shit about the club so said it how it was!

Levy and his ENIC cronies are the problem.

Levy's probably only clinging onto Ange 'cos he wants a big cuddly Father figure to love...
Something that was CLEARLY missing from his childhood, with this immature and naive display of holding onto something, ANYTHING that can try to replace your own childhood!

Ange just likes the attention from some rich Pom, and gets to impress younger boys with his moral tales of hardship....

He's a glorified PE teacher who never genuinely made it in the game.

Gone right off him!!

Levy and Ange deserve eachother...

Just not at MY club please!

Everyone needs to accept he’s getting the Europa league run however long it ends up being.

Tbh, I think he’ll see out the season, we’re clear of danger and at that point managers who would take over will see out their seasons anyway.

It’s sad, because I think with a prem level manager we could win the Europa league, but I think Levy sticks with him till he bombs us out of it.
He's getting to the end of the season now bar a massive breach of conduct.
As much as I want him gone, a) there's nothing left to play for and b) it doesn't look like the players hate his guts and have turned on him
I think Levy can see it's a lose lose situation unless he could somehow pluck his top target right now. Which I suspect is next to impossible.

Mate. they're a tiny club with tiny resources. He's working absolute wonders with them. We robbed them of 2 points. They outclassed us from start to finish. We scored a cross and got a daft penalty which Son very near dicked up.
With the 4th lowest wage bill and the 66th smallest stadium in the country, he's got them playing us off the pitch. They also "battered" us 1-0 away this season. It was criminal they only won by one.

Sack him after the final game of the season to give a new manager a complete first season and some summer transfer business.

Ange is a tactically inept fraud, appointed on the back of Mickey Mouse successes by a desperate chairman rolling the dice with our club once again. It also irritates me how he can't talk to the interviewer or camera, he's always looking at his shoes. IN this job, with these salaries, you should at least be able to manage an interview like a professional.

Jeez, even Newcastle's owners can come in and win a trophy inside 3 years. What does it take, Levy, to make you become a good chairman (of the football club, not the football business).

This is a good point.
I wonder if it works the other way round? Sack Ange now, then bring him back for the start of next season, to see if he's learned by his mistakes?
Cant Speak Nathan Fillion GIF

Because they finished 12th last year and are headed to about 12th this year. Form has fallen off a cliff and the football they play is solid but not especially exciting.

Never really won anything as a player or manager and hasn’t had any experience managing a team playing more than once week.

He could work out, and I’d hope he did, but realistically it would be huge ask for him to turn this football club into regularly challenging for and winning major trophies.
They finished with 48 points last season they’re currently on 44 with 9 games left and 3 points from 6th. It’s not like they’ve stagnated or anything.

Their form hasn’t fallen off a cliff, they’re on a 5 game winless run, of which one of them they were down to 10 men in the first half and another they were unlucky with individual errors against us. Quite unfair to expect that Bournemouth team to not have any blips.

I can understand wanting someone more proven with winning I guess, but I think where we are right now he would make the most sense.

There is everything left to play for in the EL. That is why I am so desperately Ange OUT now. It's a huge mistake from Levy, again.

"I'll leave that to the officials but I will say that we don't carry on like a lot of other clubs and I think that hurts us for sure. I don't think there's ever any noise around us and decisions. We get one slightly in our favour and there's national headlines for a week. Things go against us and there's not even a sentence on it."

Didn't know Ange was a secret Top Gooner...

Can I remind Angelos it has been his decision not to "carry on like other clubs".

I don't think we need a miracle worker manager to come in by the way, I'm not expecting a super manager to takeover and coach these players, we just need the bear minimum for a coach with a semblance of a plan and ideas that don't leave our players exposed and a system which gets the best out of them. I actually think we mostly have a talented bunch who have been misdirected to the point where they've lost a load of confidence in their ability and what they're trying to do.

I agree but I would add 'with the ability to win games'

It took nine days from Conte's rant to his departure, so don't give up hope.

Why the nine days when the sacking was inevitable? Because Levy negotiates the pay off to outgoing managers....

The decision to stick or twist will have been taken yesterday.

If it is twist they will meet Ange today and make him an offer to go - somewhere between his compo due if we go out of the Europa or win it, which I imagine is a big difference.

Ange will take the offer away and think about it - then maybe towards the end of the week they agree a final deal for his departure and it gets announced. If Ange plays hard ball expect leaks from behind the scenes undermining him in an attempt to force his hand.

That is how Levy works...

So the rest of the league got more competitive and caught up with them…. 10th is 10th, 12th is 12th. Do we give woolwich the title because they got 89 points one year and that usually would be enough to win the prem.

They weren’t unlucky against us. They collapsed in 30 mins and gave up a 2-0 lead.

So what if they got an early red card in one game. I guess they have discipline issues. Discipline issues are a reason not to hire a coach.

Amazing the hoops people will jump through to make excuses when they are fixated on their opinion being correct.

There isnt a manager out there that isnt a gamble. I'm sure everyone would love Xabi Alonso but cock all chance of that. Even the biggest names come with question marks because of the circumstances they have to work with here
20/1 according to Betfair. But then they've also got Ten Hag at 10/1...

But yeah, even if Real decide to keep Carlo another year there's no chance Alonso would leave Leverkusen for us, sadly.

Can I remind Angelos it has been his decision not to "carry on like other clubs".

I won't lie in his first season I always thought he was very noble in not talking about refereeing decisions and not putting any pressure on the refs and PGMOL but honestly in this league honesty gets you nowhere, we rarely get anything from refs because we are way too nice on the pitch, we rarely get any penalties under him because we don't play to get any penalties. The nice guy gimmick can take you so far if you want to purely play football but that's not how things work in elite football especially in the Premier League.

We've scored 129 goals in the Premier League under Ange and we've been handed 4 (four) penalties, that's astounding...considering the amount of times our players spend in and around the ops' box I find it staggering that we haven't played for more penalties - We have nimble players and speedy forwards in our team they're should be more onus on them going down on contact, this doesn't happen enough.

Say what you want about Arteta but he has his players employing the dark arts, they are coached to the point where they try and gain every little advantage, even if it's a few yards on a free kick or kicking the ball away to stop momentum, same with Newcastle, the amount of time wasting, feigning injuries, sly fouls, shirt pulls etc.. they get away with allows them to generally slow the game down and stop momentum, we don't do any of that, we are far too nice because we just want to play football.

I've always said that this league is a Hollywood league, the refs make decisions based on moments and narratives, they are incredibly biased and swayed by feeling which is why you constantly need to put pressure on them and test them, they are complete cowards who tend to hide behind VAR because they often don't want to make decisions for themselves because when they do they get it massively wrong. I also believe that the refs these days cannot keep up with the intensity and speed of football in the Prem, it's transition heavy and the ball is constantly being turned over which should work in our favour because we are a transition heavy team...I say all that to say this, we haven't been coached properly to take advantage of the incompetent referees in this league and we're not good enough to overcome it by purely playing football.

Sadly I don't think anyone will win that with this rabble. The squad looks so uncoached that it will take the next coach months of work to get them playing some form of useful, coherent football.

He should be saying this sort of stuff. Even if it's just quips like "how come Sky Sports haven't asked their ref about this one?"
I'm fed up with poor decisions against us not getting highlighted by anyone.
