i think a club like SOuthampton will suit Ange as a next assignment...
smaller club - & they like to play out from the back. Have a good crop of academy kids - so he can hone their skills like he did with Djed Spence :ange-hmm:
good fit if they can keep ramsdale.
Ramsdale would be a crap GK in Ange's team. Reason the last Soton manager failed was he tried to play out from the back with Ramsdale in goal.

I don't think his ego will allow him to drop down. I think he'll end up either as a pundit or managing international football.

There's also talk of a Brendan Rodgers leaving Celtic in the summer so could potentially go back there if he does stay in club football.

Please to God Spurs & Celtic don't swap managers.

I think he’s probably one of the worst fits for them.

They struggled under Martin who had a plan which didn’t fit his team, to go from that to a manager with very little inthe way of a plan or viable tactics would be further suicide for them.

I’m also not sure he’s completely on board with bringing through youth, I think he stumbled across Spence due to injuries and even he was taken back by how good Spence can actually be. Similar to Bergvall, I think Lucas has played better than Ange expected and has forced his way in due to the poor form of players like Bissouma.

Archie Gray was playing brilliantly for us, but since players have returned from injury he’s found himself on the bench more, perhaps he’s giving him some rest, but I’m not entirely sure Ange is a massive supporter and player of youth instead of just dumb lucking his way in to some good young players.

One of the big problems I think we have is that our FBs invert way too soon. As soon as our CBs get the ball the FBs are stood halfway in the oppo half in a central position, which is congested with passing routes easily blocked. Watch the first 10 games of last season and the players ran off the ball after it passed them into advanced positions. The play was 1 or 2 touch, and midfielders always had a forward pass option. Now, when our CBs have it, the only pass is a ball to the WFs who have to run back towards their own goal with no FB behind him to lay the ball off to. Both Son and Johnson look terrible comign towards their own half. The only way we are creative is if Romero pulls off a 'through the eye of a needle' pass and Maddison or Kulusevski turn their man, or if VdV thunders through the opponents press with an aggressive run.

I watched Porro constantly push straight towards the Centre Circle yesterday. Spence is a little more keen to stay wide, but Son tends to go narrow, whereas Johnson stays a bit wider.
I can't figure out if it's tactical, player not doing what they're meant to do or something else. But it all looks skewed.

He’d be awful.

They’ve already had an uncompromising narcissistic bozo in Martin, who’s sent them down. Why employ another.

He won’t get another managing job. He’ll become a pundit. Loves the sound of his own voice.

Martin got 0.31ppg
Juric has got 3.36ppg

Maybe Southampton are just the worst team in the league by miles.

Also, just dawned on me.

They sacked Martin after we won at theirs.
They sacked Juric after we won at ours.
AND they got relegated after losing to us.

They must fucking hate us.

2 of those 6 wins came against United, who are now above us.
We really are just propped up by turds below us really.

There's 6 teams below us. We've already lost to 3 of them and have 2 more to play (away)
I had a complete tear up with some supposed Spurs fan on Bluesky arguing that chanting you don't know what you're doing against Chelsea was 'hate speech level bad behaviour ' and was why we lost. I asked her if we should ask a black person if they felt it was equitable with being called an N word. She said it was, whatever a person of colour would say. I actually hate some of these people.
