Today doesn’t matter : the league position only means a few million here or there ; thus a lot to the board.
But given the fact that the League is a lost cause . 17th or 12th ; I , personally, couldn’t give a monkeys at this stage . I’m impressed by people who can .

Glad we got it I eh with and can concentrate on thingy that actually matter ; Thursday at Frankfurt’s place .

Losing every week and then expecting to go in to key European games and just win is outrageously silly. Very rarely will a side in such terrible forum just conjure it up for Europe. If you want momentum, confidence, all that jazz .. then of course this game mattered. If it didn't matter at all we wouldn't have played a mostly first choice team.

Those players now have another knock to confidence, another defeat. And if you think us finishing 16th or 17th won't impact how we are viewed in the summer window etc, then you have another thing coming. A lot of players will think twice about joining a team who were on the verge of a disaster.

Not the way we do transfers. Young players and players like the solankes of this world won't reject us.

You’re 100 % correct.

But to use that horrible phrase
« We are where we are « .

Hopefully lessons were learned today that might mean we’re more likely to get a result in Frankfurt.

We can cope with losing at Wolves ; given where we are right now .

Imagine this place on Thursday night if we don’t go through ; unthinkable .

( And not only that ; it’ll be impossible to log on ( note to admin ) .

It’s all about Thursday : forget today .

Puzzled that people think the league position doesn’t matter. That is the primary judge of a manager.

There are certain years where this team, poor as it is, would have been relegation threatened.

We are 3 wins, 2 losses, and a draw against the three teams to be relegated this year is it? Hardly an argument to say we would never be in trouble any year

There is a cornucopia of reasons to sack Ange but there is not one single solitary argument for keeping him. Not a one

Truth is with a mole in place, even the finest of strategies couldn't survive a thrashing at The Molineux.

The finest of excuses because it makes sense and explains why AP has lost 18 (or whatever) league games this season.

I'd gladly take another season of ange if it meant we won the Europa League.
Bite your hand of for it, I hate never winning anything
Only a lousy league cup in my entire supporting life
I would sure like to win, but if it means he saves his job and it’s another season in the bottom quarter of the league …

that is just the sort of thing the dark forces that conspire against this club would think up I suppose :wanyama:

3 years of utter shit football is not worth one europa league. football is about winning, but its also about being excited by progress. no one is looking forward to match days, thats not what its about. ill be celebrating this cunts departure more than i would a europa league win, hes killed the love of it.

17 league defeats (and counting) in one year....a europa league win doesnt make that ok.

also WTF is even going on?? if by some miracle we do win the europa its in spite of this clown not because of him!!!!!!!

So from what i read the general conensus is his job is untenable at the end of this season even if we win a cup and qualify for CL.

But on the other hand we're tired of finishing top 4 and having nothing to show for it every year.

To me it's clear.... the manager needs squad backing. You can't compete in a demanding league with 3 cup competitions and injuries with nobody of calibre to support.

Postecoglou is just the scape goat now for them to reset and give everyone false hope, there will never be real success and every manager will struggle.
