The biggest thing that winds me up about him, is that he doesn't seem to realise the problem, or he just doesn't know how to fix it.
He cannot set a team up to be competitive in the PL, that is the long and short of it.
Every game we lose, he sits there and says we played well, there's no indication he will change it, try to do something different.
He's the worst manager I've ever seen. I'd genuinely put him right at the bottom.
Basically came here to say the same thing.
After 2 years of being in charge, he still does not understand what it takes to win an EPL game (!!). Can you fucking imagine that.
He keeps saying that "Our football was outstanding" and "we totally dominated the game" and "deserved to win the game" or "our football was so so good" (all of them are exact quotes from post-match presser yesterday).
NONE of this is true though.
OUR. ATTACKING. PLAY. IS. PATHETIC. PILE. OF. SHIT
There is literally no efficiency in that, though we put astronomical amount of volume of it into the game, so on paper we get lot of goals. But that takes a toll from other parts of the game.
Just look at yesterdays game. How many times did it happen that -
1) we could have tried to push on fast and in direct manner or use first touch pass, but decided to either take 2 extra touches or pass it back alltogether
2) we actually did put ball into the dangerous area, but there was no one attacking it from right angle
3) when one attacking player was expecting the pass to be in front of him, pass actually came straight at him/slightly behind. Or when one attacking player waited the cutback pass then the pass went in front of him.
There is no directness and cohesion in our attacking play.
Luckly there is Champions League going on and watching games there reminds me what actual football should look like. Or well.. I hate to say it, but just look at the two Woods goals from yesterdays game. There was crosser who knew what area to aim for. And there was a teammate knowing what area to attack. And in both cases - voilaaa- attacker met the ball and put it into the net. Ok, once it was (rightfully) annulled due to offside, but still.
