Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Where I thought Ange was right was that you get 6 points for two wins and 6 points for 6 draws.
this the the sort of shit youd expect someone who doesnt understand the game to come up with like its a genius idea that no one has thought of before lol. getting battered damages morale, draws have more value than just the 1 point in a lot of cases. they stop you actually losing and morale taking a battering. drawing 6 games is better for morale than winning 2 and losing 4.

he hasnt been "made to look a fool" he bloody well is one. hes the biggest fool to exist in the game, by far!

There does seem to be a flurry of interviews with Ange and the players doing the rounds, obviously set up by the clubs media team.

Has an end of days feel about it and is a tad cringe. Although the headline on Vic’s ‘Loving Ange Postecoglou’s ‘untraditional’ approach to football’ made me guffaw!
What a dip stick does he not know we have lost 18 games in league

It hasn't worked.

That is a fact.

But it did work for a brief period of ten games before injuries and suspensions.

I stand by my statement that Ange has been made to look a fool because I believe Levy should have protected him by letting him go before Christmas.

He's struggled with the pressers, dealing with the supporters and generally been exposed as not being up to the task.

That is on Levy for me.

Levy's mistake to appoint Ange but compounded by the terrible decision to continue with Ange when it seems obvious to everyone that senior players have checked out months ago and belief has collapsed.

We're all frustrated but insulting Ange and directing anger towards him is misplaced in my opinion.

He's a man who had to take the job and have a go; despite it now being obvious he was out of his depth and comfort zone.

I think Ange does understand what he wants his teams to do. He's just not been able to get this team to do it as often as he thought he could and the injuries have devastated any chance of consistency.

Playing to win every game is actually an admirable quality.

There is more than one way to win though and Ange has struggled to accept this fact.

I went through a phase where I thought he might be on to something. Playing open, attacking football, means you will give the other team opportunities and sometimes you will be severely punished.

Where I thought Ange was right was that you get 6 points for two wins and 6 points for 6 draws.

In other words; losing a few games would not affect the overall points tally after 38 games as long as you continue to win more than you lose. A drawn game sometimes feels like a defeat anyway; depending on the opposition.

What has actually happened is that the players Ange has selected, or been forced to pick due to injuries, stopped believing in the system which in turn led to the supporters losing belief too.

The supporters are not fools and know when it is no longer working.

Ange clearly thinks the supporters are fools and he subsequently lost any sympathy many supporters had for him when he began expressing his feelings publicly.

Levy is ultimately to blame for letting all of this go on longer than it needed too.

Ange wanted Neto and Eze. He got Odobert and Werner.

He lost the senior players during the Autumn, having been let down in the window, and here we are again.

Ange is just another Levy scapegoat who has been made to look a fool but hasn't helped himself at times. He's clearly uncomfortable dealing with the pressure and has been left exposed. I don't blame him for taking the job though and giving it a go.

Some good can come out of this if Levy, or a new chairman, gets the next appointment as head coach right.

From my point of view I now couldn't care less if any of the current first team squad were sold in the summer.

I can't ever remember feeling like this about Spurs and can't help thinking that for that reason alone this may all have been a deliberate act on the part of Dear Leader.

Levy knows what it takes to make a team successful because he has achieved it in the past.

The fact it has gone so badly wrong may suit the prick for reasons which are not obvious to the rest of us at the moment.

We won 3-0 with 80% posession. It was a couple of days after having beaten Liverpool, and a couple of days before we were set to play Woolwich.

I'm not sure how Spurs got "shown up"

😂 😂 😂 oh my god we failed to beat fucking TAMWORTH TOWN in 90 whole minutes of football!!!

Yeah of fucking cause the exhausted national league side collapsed fitness wise in extra time against a premier league side bringing on fresh premier league players off the bench.

levy should have sacked the fat cunt after chelsea 9 men. youll never see more of a glaring red flag of someone not having a fucking clue.

tha fat slob has embarrassed himself non stop since then. he should have stayed well away from proper football, hes truly exposed himself, not just his lack of knowledge on football, but how much of a cunt he is as a person too.

Do you not like him a little bit?

So out of his depth that he managed to finish 5th in the Premier League and made it to 2 semi finals?

Something most other coaches would only dream of.

Fact of the matter is, we binned off the league in December. The squad was bare bones and we had to pick our battles. Go for in in the cups (less fixtures, more breaks), or try and scrape 6th place (more fixtures, play every week).

Give the man a proper squad, we will challenge for the title in his 4th season.
You really are the biggest nugget I've ever seen on this site...and Lord knows you've got some challengers.

Friggin Phil Brown, Steve Kean or Ian Holloway would've had us 5th last season and in two semis this year. Neil Warnock, Steve Bruce or Tony Mowbray would've done better than that.

This season's EL is the weakest edition of the competition in years. We struggled to beat Qarabag, Ferencvaros, AZ (thrice) and Hoffenheim. We needed the kids vs Elfsborg. Deserved to lose vs Roma and if Ange's beloved football gods hadn't been on our side vs Galatasaray, we'd have conceded 12.

Oooooh but we beat United and City in the Carabao Cup. Big fucking deal. It's the worst Man U team in decades and City aren't the City of old either. Soon as we faced proper competition, we were sent packing in humiliating fashion.

Let's not even talk about the embarrassing PL defeats we've had this season...and last. The only reason we finished P5 is cause of that start we had. Since then it's been 18 months of vomit-inducing shite.

If you genuinely believe Ange is that great manager and that it's all cause of the injuries & many other lame excuses he's come up with, then you really are a friggin idiot. And if you're just spouting TalkSport levels of shit just to get reactions, then you are some seriously pathetic dude. Or you know you're wrong but are so damn proud and egocentric that you'd rather keep digging than admit the blatant truth. Whatever it is, you are an embarrassment, pal.

The Vicario one is interesting because he’s basically talking about Ange in the past tense and with reverence.

Saying how he will “always remember the way he speaks to the team”.

People always mention those first ten games. If you actually look back at those games we were incredibly lucky with last minute goals. The now familiar patterns of play were evident too, unable to break teams down. Those first ten games were blind luck more than anything.

It was mostly a new manager bounce combined with a new club bounce for Maddison.

Been mediocre to shit ever since with a few rare exceptions.

Utter nonsense.

We were 4 points off 2nd place after 12 games this season, and had just beaten City.

It all went to shit because of injuries and the club not providing a good enough squad...filling the gaps with kids and poor quality players.

The medical team is a complete joke and has been completely innept and getting injuries players back to fitness. This has been going on for years.
