The whole goal of sport is winning.

A gladiator in the ring doesn’t win they die. Modern sport is more civilized than that but the same rules apply.

Sure there are other things to get from being B involved in Sport, like friendship, camaraderie, health benefits etc but the goal is winning.

If you didn’t win it wasn’t success. You can also make a great case that sports teach you how to deal with failure because normally people don’t win all the time.

It’s only in the biggest pro leagues where you get these oligopolies with the same clubs winning all the time.
I wonder if gladiators who'd only ever competed in friendly tussles against their mates in Australia & Japan were chucked into the Colosseum and if they were, I wonder who would have put a few denarii on them..

Probably the same sort of mug who'd simultaneously back a fraud to be in charge of this club despite his beyond mediocre background whilst now extolling this militant view that winning is all that matters and which means the Jol, Harry & Poch years were a waste of time, very bizarre logic.

But easy to understand when seen through the lens of someone who thinks there's Prem level managers hiding out in Japan & Australia, in other words the lens of a mug who won't admit he was completely wrong.

Wolves manager was in Japan. Wenger was in Japan.

But then again, I’m having a conversation about coaching with someone who names themselves Not A Serious Man.

May as well be talking to a McDonalds security guard about rocket science

I read your post earlier as saying you've been a season ticket holder and giving levy all your money since covid.
Did I read it backwards?

Yep. Was an ST holder.

Nephew even ran out with Bale at a CL night back in the day.
Sank tens of thousands of £s into this club. As have many others on here.

But then my mum died January 2019. Most emotional CL run you can imagine in my family.

And then Covid hit.

Footballs never been the same for me since.

Hasn't for us.
Graham won it 99
9 year wait for another one when Ramos won it.
Been 17 years since then.

I would say the opposite. A random cup win does not breed a winning mentality. Being consistently good over a season of 38 games breeds a winning mentality. Not losing very often in that period builds a strong team that will, eventually, go on to win cups. Despite Poch's side not winning a trophy, we were DAMN close. 2 title pushes, a league cup final and a Champions League final. Literally minutes away from bigger things. Those sides, let's not forget, went deep into various cups and still managed to qualify for Europe through the league every season.

IMO, a successful Poch team is young and full of fit players who have not yet become household names. Once they become aware of their talent, and are wanted by other clubs, they're less willing to work as hard as the younger players.
IMO, the tough rebuild was Poch saying some household names might have to go. Names like Kane, Eriksen, Dier, Rose, possibly Jan by then. It would have been very tough for Spurs to manage that PR.

4th in the PL and CL final too. There's no need to literally throw a season down the shitter to go deep in Europe. Arse are 2nd and at the same level as us in the CL.

Same applies to a lot of under performing players.

It just shows that a good manager can fight on multiple fronts.
We finished 5th last season but had no Europe and were out of the domestic cups at pretty much the first hurdle.
AngeLOSS can't manager multiple competitions.

As you said we went ‘damn close’ to winning a trophy under Poch!

But we didn’t because we don’t have a winning mentality now like we used to so any trophy we can scoop up we should do!

Wolves manager was in Japan.

I'm sure any McDs security guard would know more about rocket science than you do about football given the guff you've continually posted to defend the indefensible fraud.

It's better to be a lucky manager than a good manager.
The question is will anges luck run out in the el?
I dont know how many times he has won a game when he was really under pressure.

I don’t think there is such a thing as a lucky manager.

There are good managers and bad managers. Over the long run the good ones are more successful than the bad ones. Luck has fuck all to do with it.

The best outcome is we sack the clown a few days before the final (IF we get there) and then win it.

The oafs I win stuff on my second season is thus demolished and serves him right after the Man City comments, cupping an ear to our supporters and throwing young players under the bus for his own inflated ego.

I have never despised a spurs manager until this idiot.
I despised George Graham the most for obvious reasons. Gerry Francis was a tool of a man. But Ange is probably the least worthy manager. Either him or Gross another clown.

If he wins a trophy it won’t change anything for me in that regard.
