They did not win the CL this season. And you're saying that winning the EL is bigger than losing the CL final - and these clubs did not even reach the CL final.
I said Woolwich are seen as a big club ....not that they are as big as Real M. Barca, etc. That's you twisting my words.
I know you would come with cheap "drivel" thingy ...because you can't come up with something logical replies.
Anyway, it's good for you that you prefer Spurs to qualify for the EL rather than the CL because it's a much easier to win the EL than the CL. That's small club mentality works.

Because your entire post went off into a tangent of nonsense and irrelevance, hence why it was drivel.

let's circle this argument back a bit, this is what you originally said:

Whether you like it or not, Woolwich are still seen as a force in European football (particularly after beating Real M. in both CL games), while Spurs - even after winning the EL - is not seen as an top European club. That's a fact right now.

Whether we like it or not but coming 2nd in the EPL and reaching the CL semis does make a club a European top club. That's the objective truth.

That's not me twisting, those are literally your words and I haven't once even spoke about Spurs in our exchange so who's twisted who's words here?

The reason I responded is because you were so desperate to paint Woolwich as a top European club, it's actually laughable because they have won fuck all in Europe, you don't get respect for challenging or putting pressure on, or going close or beating former champions in one off matches, you get the respect and accolades when you win, that's how you became a 'force in European football' it's as simple as that.

I'm not missing your point, I just don't think it really has all that much merit. Buy in would come along pretty quickly under a new manager if we're no longer getting turned over by the likes of Ipswich, Leicester, Palace, Bournemouth, Wolves, Brighton, Everton, Fulham and whoever else wants 3 points that weekend. Those very same players you are saying now owe Ange their undying loyalty for the rest of their lives for this monumental cup win, also went out and got battered playing high line suicide tactics against those league sides. I'm sure they can see why a change might be warranted. You are painting this as though Ange is some dynastically successful manager that it would be utterly scandalous to sack, it just isn't the case is it?

Don’t be dramatic to try and get a cheap argument win.

I never mentioned their whole lives or Ange is some dynastic uber coach.

I’m saying you cant replace Ange this summer with a mid table guy who has never won anything and just expect that “buy in would come along pretty quickly”. It doesn’t work that way.

That’s the point you don’t want to hear.

We could replace him with Glasner. He's a "mid table guy" who can actually coach a team and guess what! He won a trophy too, against much harder teams than Ange had to beat, and he also won the Europa League at Frankfurt too if that helps? Just all round more successful than Ange under much harder circumstances.

Everyone's happy - rid of the fraud, in with a proper coach.

Ok, what about Glasner then? He's won the Europa league and FA cup in the last few seasons and overcame much, much harder circumstances to secure a decent finish in the table for Palace. He's proven he can fight on multiple fronts AND succeed. Would that be a high enough bar for you?

I said a few times on this board over the past couple of months that I thought if we won the EL, Ange would be kept on. I still think that. It's a massive win for the club. Feels like this restores some much needed prestige, glamour and appeal to the club? I also think it's likely to go horribly wrong next season!

What players specifically? Most of them have been at the club for five minutes. I really think you are massively, massively overattributing the importance of this cup win to the players because of the importance it held for us as fans. Our average squad age is like 23, many of our players are U21s, do you really think they've won the Europa and thought "this is it, I've hit the pinnacle, this is as elite coaching as I'll ever get and this manager is the best chance I have at being a raging success"? I can promise you they don't. The team will move on.

You are MASSIVELY under-rating the importance of it.

there are 3 trophies for most teams in the prem to have a chance to win each season - two of which -one of 2 clubs have really won over the last 10 years.

Winning trophies is rare for 95% of clubs, including us.

We won it was fucking massive man. give this nonsense a rest and get your head out of your ass.

NO ONE is saying they are feeling like this is the pinnacle of their playing careers that they should strive for, but for man,y it is the pinnacle of their career so far. Who are you to take that away from them? PATHETIC LOSER MENTALITY

Glasner is about to extend his contract.

But for argument sake, that is getting closer to the type of profile you would need to stand a chance.

IMO Glasner isn’t worth the risk. Hes won EL but so have we now. Why take a gamble on a sideways step?

Fuck off away from this forum. No one wants you here. You are not liked. You are a dirty rotten vindictive callous little snake.

Oh no, no one likes me on a forum, however will I cope :pochcry:

keeping him kills us. the league results have been shocking since 9 men chelsea and they aint getting better because we beat the worst united side ever in a final.

well see if levy really thinks hes operating at a big club here. because keeping him would be seriously small time.

There's a decent chance it actually will be the pinnacle of their club careers. What % of PL players actually get to win the PL or the CL?

All of you just need to take a fucking minute to enjoy the trophy. I cannot grasp how this moment has become a massive cunt off about who is right about what and who.

And there's certain cunts on here deliberately pouring petrol on the fire and they know who they are.

I reckon Levy will get one of his Fan Forum things done in pretty short order now. Got our Tottenham back stuff. It's a narrow window of opportunity over the summer.

"loser mentality" is being fine and dandy with getting turned over 21 times in a season. "loser mentality" is doing a favour to a guy because finally we can be the chirpy cunt to our mates. "loser mentality" is saying you couldn't even contest winnable home league games against relegated sides because you "had to prioritise the Europa league".

This cup win is amazing, I was just as happy as anyone, my old man has waited his whole lifetime to see us lift a European trophy again and I'm more happy for him than anyone. But this doesn't erase the last 9 months in the league. We will go the way of Everton if we don't do something about it now.

Exactly.

Many of these players are under 25 - imagine being some nobody trying to convince other people that the players don't care about achieving something 95% of professional footballers never will.

Absolutely astonishing stuff

It's not a sideways step. Our wage budget is about 1/3 of Frankfurts, we entered this competition as favourites.

Glasner, in the same environment (prem) has beaten Ange home and away, finished on far more points, his team actually look coached and he's won a trophy too.
