The Poch era had completely broken as of about the first of the year 2019, following on from the yearlong self-imposed transfer embargo by Levy.

The CL final run was the era of the Winks-Sissoko double pivot and the total disappearance of Kieran Trippier's form.

Played comprehensively off the park by City and Ajax, and took 11 points from our final 12 league games.

This "reaching a CL final is true greatness, unlike winning the EL" narrative does not fit the data of the absolute shower we were by the time we got there.
We had better footballing accomplishments and played far better ball in that era. If you think Winks Sissoko was difficult to watch you should have seen Spurs 24-25.

I’m not stopping you from anything- I’m typing in a chat room. It’s extremely strange you can’t enjoy your life because I voiced my opinion respectfully in a chat room.
I bet you’re fun at parties mate!

How are there Spurs fans not enjoying this moment? This is the best feeling in the world, winning a major trophy. Yes most of the season has been arse but fuck me the game is about glory and we finally have some.

Don’t worry I know the answer, really.

This is like when you know you’re drunk and one more shot is going to make you sick in the morning, but fuck it I’m feeling great right now so one more season!

(Definitely think we’ll be hungover in October).
Especially if you subtract Romero and maybe Kulu from the squad, per the rumors. Levy will never invest at the level that would be needed to take us higher than we were before we lost one (or both) of them. We will very likely get token replacements and bargain shopping only, as always with Levy.

And we will also go back to playing the way Ange always and only plays. His non-system has not ever worked at any point during his tenure here, but that's who we are mate

(unless his hand is forced and he wants to win a final to save his skin, apparently)

Letting this one win cloud the fact that Ange's tenure was a disaster with one bright bob at the end would set us back a full year and would piss away the backdoor entrance to CL football and all else. We simply cannot do that.

Need to sleep it off and wake up with clear eyes. Be a serious club and get someone serious in

How can you criticise Spurs fans for not enjoying the worst season in living memory up until Wednesday night? Winning the trophy doesn't erase the 9 months of fucking shocking shite football. We finished 17th. Yes we can forget about that now and enjoy the trophy but it doesn't mean all those 9 months of football were anhy less shit.

How have you watched the whole fucking season and not worked out that Ange's system and tactics have been brutally exposed by almost every single PL team including relegated Leicester and Ipswich?

It's nothing to do with correct signings, they will still be coming in and playing under a manager who hasn't a clue unfortunately.

You just won't learn will you? How much mor evidence do you need?

Emotion and sound bites from Ange on a mic isn't going to win us 3 points regularly next season under Ange, sorry to say.
Plus the fact that although I'm over the moon with the trophy as we all should be, nothing can disguise the fact that the EL standard this year has been shockingly bad...the final was between the 16th and 17th place in the EPL...I'm not trying to denigrate the win, the competition or the trophy but I'm not going to be carried away on a cloud of euphoric hysteria and forget the whole picture of this season...I don't want another one like this one but that's exactly what we're going to get if he stays...it's only my opinion though....

Well at the end of the day if he’s replaced we’re back to square one again, every one o they names mentioned in the replacement thread are no an instant fix it’s another 18 month in the wilderness at least we what we’ve got he’s settled, squad is settled and are with him so another season is no the end of the world , it’s not like we’re going fall further behind .

If I say how confident I am about this squad for next season, the usuals won’t be able to keep their shit together so I’ll save it for later.

Ange will go into recruitment phone calls on zoom with the 4 top buttons undone, chest hair and a gold chain swinging.

Season 2 was a fucking shit show. You didn't enjoy season 2, you enjoyed Wednesday night, don't get it twisted. If you can't seperate the two then that's a bit of a problem mate.

People really just hate anything that interferes with their good feelings.

The real problem is they think their right to go through life without hearing otherwise extends to every available public space.

We had better footballing accomplishments and played far better ball in that era.
Without question.

The problem is "that era" ended at the absolute latest in ~February 2019. The knockout round first leg at Wembley when we crushed Dortmund was the last great performance of Poch's tenure, it was all shit football from there, but with flukes and miracles floating us to Madrid.

The no-transfer summer of 2018 stabbed the Poch era in the heart and destroyed it, it never did or could have recovered, the chairman singlehandedly destroyed what had been created. There just happened to be a lag in that taking its inevitable and terminal effect.

The truth is important for analytical purposes. None of that changes the reality that we've been shit this season and managed to make a happy ending out of it only through weaker opponents and totally forsaking Angeball.

Where that leaves us, I'm not really sure. I'm occupied with the happy ending for a few days longer.
