People saying he won't get a top 5 gig if he gets sacked. He beat the 3rd best team in the Germany. He beat the team that put 7 past the 4th best team in Spain and defeated the 6th best team in France. He beat the team that beat the 6th best team in Italy.

He wants to be here to prove himself in the Champions League, not because he'll be managing pub level teams if gets sacked.

If we keep him, Levy knows he has to spend.

If he doesn't spend and we start next season terribly, then the daggers should be directed at Levy, not Ange.

This season has proved we need depth. We need experience.

Ange has already said so himself.

It's up to Levy to help him improve. It isn't all on Ange.

Another brilliant consequence of Weds night is Ange has the trophy to back up his demands now.

I don't want a new start. I'm sick of new regimes. I want this week built upon properly.

He's already been in the champions league and got trashed.

Why would you choose not to enjoy this, let other club's play down this achievement. Why do it ourselves? We've been in the UEL plenty of times since '84, if it's so easy why haven't we won it? Knocked out by Zagreb in 21, Gent in 17, Fiorentina in 15, Basel in 13, PAOK and Rubin Kazan in 12. All teams you would have diminished if they were in our run this year. Be miserable if you want, but if you can't look at that parade today and see how important that is and be happy today then I don't know if Spurs will ever make you happy.
I think it has something to do with other managers not rating europa league. Ange got outsmarted week in and week out in the PL. Of course he would rather play norwegian minnows.

so here we go. lurkin ange fan transfer from celtic.....

2 years ago i took up sailing. random sport for a 44yr old.
my first season i met the best people who took me across big seas on faith.

my captain brought me out of waterford on the south coast of ireland heading for lanzarote on the 5th of december. i had 6 months experience of big boy sailing pants. we had no business attempting this trip. he had the the experience. myself and mate had the enthusiasm. we laughed and sailed for the first day of a thirteen day trip to lanzarote on a 43 foot yacht. we were 200 miles offshore when we ripped a sail. a massive deal to change it out with 2 seasick men. we then flew down to the coast of spain where we landed for 12hrs to solve a problem....

we then fucked off into the atlantic ocean. with no business to be there. ran into a massive winter storm. 25ft seas and 50knts wind.... we were getting hammered. we were 200 miles north of lanzarote, our destination, when the captain decided the risk to the boat and his crew was higher than reaching safe port. we didnt achieve our destination yet we turned and ran to the sunny port of albufeira.

i remember going up on the bow of the boat in my underwear in 30 foot seas to tie down a dinghy that had come loose.
i remember being 300 miles from land trying to figure out how to change sails.
i remember the engine shitting itself off the coast of africa.
i really remember not having enough fuel to reach our destination. which led to the decision to go to the harbour we could reach.

we arrived in albufeira in a storm in the middle of the night. we got tied up. we partied like heroes.

it's the trip.

such is life. so are heroes.
a parable of ange.

im sailing season 3. im ange season 3.
alan

----first post--- im still pissed drunk after watching the parade on bbc

Im wondering if he tinkers his tactics next season. We look far more assertive when we are a few yards further back and are more selective when we press. With a couple of additions and a bit more confidence in the squad I think we could have a good season. Playing Tuesday and Wednesday is far better than Thursday and you also play teams who are generally a bit closer as most of the best leagues with the champions league places are Central Europe.

Either way, after the fairytale ending to the season I’ll just be happy to watch us play and enjoy every second of it knowing they have done something I’d never have expected during my life of supporting Tottenham

I still think we should part ways.

The only strong argument I see for keeping him is the dressing room. But at the end of the day they are professional footballers. Give it a couple more weeks and then let him go. They'll understand that its a results business and life goes on.

Whatever pressure Ange will be under if he stays, the new manager will feel x1000 of that if he goes with a trophy drought broken.

This is a much harder decision than most of us are giving credit for, also lets be honest if you've spent the last few months saying "he should go even if we win Europa" which even included me, we didnt trully believe he was going to win that trophy. When rumours of fractured dressing rooms and bust ups were emerging, we didnt think every one of those players would be willing to jump off that bus they were on for him today.

The Marco Silvas of the world are off limits for me now, at a minimum you have to have won a trophy to come in.

Ha, someone else spotted it..

Cunning old goat.

Paratici will be having none of it tho, like you say.
It was just a joke from Ange FFS.
Yeah only Ange could have achieved the miracle of beating AZ, Frankfurt or Bodo. Only him. Deluded fucking waffle.

You were wrong. We finished 17th. This manager is fucking shite and has been for a year and a half, one cup run doesn’t change shit and anyone on here with a functioning brain knows it. Only the thick as shit posters who I wouldn’t piss on if they were on fire continue to argue otherwise.
Bodo knocked out Italian top 6 team
MU knocked out top 3 Spanish and top 6 French side. We knocked out third best team in Germany. That’s a worthy win you should be enjoying not wishing Ange gets knocked off by the Mafia. Weird!

And the same 'supporters' on here would chastise, that if a 'clown' such as Ange could do it with the same players, then that person is a bigger clown...

"It's who we are, mate."

Our weird jinx team and a fortunate win? 17th bro- table don’t lie.

The spurs curse needed to be lifted. Ange has shown the world that Spurs mean business and are back to lift trophies.

The players, coaches and staff are now united in success. They have tasted it and will want to repeat that year after year.

NO MORE PLAYING FOR 4TH PLACE.

Who gives a flying fuck where we finished in the league this year? We are building for the future, and this was the first milestone - we needed a trophy, we needed to be back in the champions league - 100% delivered.

The exact same thing will happened next year. We cannot compete across 4 comps using our best players, so we will need to pick our battles. However, I do fancy out young players to have a real go at one of the domestic cups.

SPURS ARE BACK. 100% THANKS TO BIG ANGE

Only reason I'd keep Ange is if:

a. a top coaching team was hired for him, and
b. he was flexible to shifting formation to reflect the strengths of our squad - but a 60yo manager is rarely known to change their stripes.

He's clearly capable of tweaking the team to get results. We'd get so much more out of this squad by narrowing the wingers (inside forwards), letting the fullbacks attack the wide spaces and playing a double pivot with one DM dropping into a 3 (Gray?).

It’s a quandary , alright

He did as he promised & it’s something others couldn’t but on a whole the football has been woeful with a record number of defeats

Only Spurs could have a manager who is so bad yet potentially unsackable

Only rational argument I can honestly see is if Levy has Poch on a pre-agreement for 26-27. Still stupid to throw next season away (and I'm, repeatedly, on the record that a Poch return would almost certainly be shit).

But its the only thing that would even remotely make sense.

It is funny, though.
