Not sure I agree here. He tends to walk when he feels the job is done more often than not. He'd achieved pretty much what he went there to do at Sth Melbourne, Brissy, Melbourne, Yokohama, Celtic etc and moved onto the next challenge/rebuild so I don't think he'll do it here at all as he's just started the job. He's regenerated the squad, brought many of the youngsters through (many out of injury necessity) and won a trophy but knows that the next step is to make the side competitive in all comopetitions season long which he felt he didn't have the depth to do this season with the injuries etc. It's all well and good for people to suggest all teams have injuries, and they do, but it's the quality/experience of who comes in to replace the injured player that has a huge influence and Spurs just haven't had the depth behind the first line to really compete this season but with CL on offer and I'd imagine an even further reduce wage bill as a result of so many youngsters there is some room now to add the quality to offset injury losses as well as upgrade the squad overall. He'll want to stay to continue the process of making the side competitive everywhere now, and I think he will if he remains, whether he gets the opportunity is another thing. As someone who has followed Ange’s career, he has a tendency to walk when he wins and in conjunction with some reservations regarding resources given and/or the board/ management style. He did it at STH Melbourne, he did it at Brisbane, the Socceroos, Yokohama, Celtic and will probably walk from Spurs. I hope he doesn’t, I’d like to see him given the opportunity to learn from this season in conjunction to getting a few quality seasoned players in, and see what he can do.
He’s achieved his major objective, winning a trophy.
I think he’s going to walk. He’s copped a tonne of shit from supporters and media pundits. He doesn’t forget. Ask Craig Foster!
Leave on a high Ange.
Big yes from me.frank is odds on now...not sure how i feel about that. but its better than postecoglou thats for sure.

Would def take Iraola as well, but super happy if we snag Frank.Yeah, I think this guy has earned his stripes.
Ange is a car salesman that fluked his way to a trophy with a combination of factors.

I'd love to have him, I think he's what we need. Someone that can over perform. He has multiple ways of playing as well.frank is odds on now...not sure how i feel about that. but its better than postecoglou thats for sure.

"I think the best managers adapt"I'd love to have him, I think he's what we need. Someone that can over perform. He has multiple ways of playing as well.
You have to have objective standards for wanting a manager in or out. For me, it is the trend line. Are Spurs better at the end of each season than the start, and better or worse than at the start of the project? The first question is difficult to answer because you have the cup at the end, but the team looked worse as the season progressed in league matches. For the project overall, there was a strong start last season and turbulence after that. But, again, Ange supporters will look at the trophy as wiping out any negatives. Then you move onto whether there are logical reasons to think things will improve next season over this. That's difficult as well, because you can't really get any worse in the Premier League matches so people will point to a normal season as a massive turnaround. If we're now just trophy hunters and that's all, there's tremendous pressure on Postecoglou to keep winning trophies while winning enough Premier League matches to survive. The last thing I'd note, and this would be a check mark for him, is he at least pulled back some from absolute adherence to his system. Maybe there's hope he's learned, but how much of the adaptability was due to injuries and how much was a reappraisal? I'm resigned to him returning, but I think the ice is thinner next season because the excuses will be mostly gone.I hope there’s a lot of critical, objective thinking when the actual decision is made.
On this board there’s no grey area, there’s people playing down the achievement of finally winning a trophy after 17 long years, whilst pointing out that it doesn’t change the problem at a club which has lost 21 games in the league this season.
Because we won on Wednesday there’s also people running around now basically claiming that anyone who said Ange wasn’t good enough overall are now all sorts of names because him winning that same trophy seems to render everything else absolutely irrelevant.
Two things can be right, there is some genuine decision making to be done because you have to balance the idea of us winning something against long term form. However whole swathes of this forum seem to be more interested in mud slinging because on a given day their view seems to be slightly more correct than the other. It’s just mental to watch, genuinely think both sides have numerous posters who are more interested in being ‘correct’ and calling other posters names than they are actually bothered about the long term future of the club, and that’s before you even get to those who love nothing more than to log on, flip flop between the two and call both sides names depending on which way the wind is blowing that day. Mental.
Ok GoonerAnd Angie got Tottenham a meaningless trophy. The only trophy means something is winning the Premier League and then the champions League
That would be terrible....if it was remotely true. This JUST when first choice defence starts, not allowing for other creative players being available.
Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham side's results vary significantly based on the availability of their first-choice defense. When the full back five (Vicario, Van de Ven, Romero, Porro, and Udogie) is available, they have a strong record, achieving 1.88 points per game. However, in games without this starting defense, their points per game drop to 1.47. This highlights the team's reliance on their key defensive players and the impact of injuries or suspensions on their performance.
Elaboration:
Strong Record with Full Back Five:
In the 25 games where the starting back five was available, Tottenham secured 14 wins, 5 draws, and 6 losses, resulting in 1.88 points per game.
I'd love to have him, I think he's what we need. Someone that can over perform. He has multiple ways of playing as well.
We won the european junior championship- we are not “champions of europe”- that would be the CL finals game. It’s a cool trophy but people parading it around like a world title are deluded.Yeah, I think this guy has earned his stripes.
Ange is a car salesman that fluked his way to a trophy with a combination of factors.
In the end although to get the trophy we had 25% pocession which must one of the lowest ever. Even forest manage more. It was pure Jose / conte ball to the max. Which is what most people didn’t want. If he can’t marry the attacking football with some solidity then we are in for same as this season in the league.
Save it for Jose apology thread. It was no risk football in the second half to minimise United chances, it worked.
Perfect night,
Can't agree with that at all. You had an 18/19 year old midfielder from the Championship with no experience playing as a starter in the backline because he was the best choice and and there's "many teams" with worse starters? Interested to know which clubs have worse starting CB's than a pairing of an 18 year old Archie Gray and Ben Davies? Can't imagine many swapping their two starters for that.We finished far behind many teams with worse CBs than our backups- not that Ange knew how to coach and improve them anyways.
*ENIC* has never invested in the club in a way that could create or justify a "PL/CL championship or nothing" mentality. It's misleading to say Levy has never provided the resources. Levy doesn't have the resources. Lewis has the resources. Lewis has never provided the resources.
