Well it has though hasn't it? Since then, he's hired a number of "footballing men" everyone was clamouring for. A few layers of so called "football experts".

The result? We've regressed back to 90s in the league and 80s in the UEFA. :ange-hmm:

I mean, I know why, but simultaneously I also don't know why people keep ignoring all of the people who actually make these decisions. I bet you Levy could be 6 foot under and full of worms and people would still be talking about him like he's Elvis or Tupac, and secretly running the club after faking his death
It is hard to understand how all of those puzzle pieces fit together. What is Postecoglou's relationship with the front office?

Dan KP reporting that Levy is "undecided". The reality will be that the press are being given absolutely nothing, so they have to put out a story that doesn't commit in either direction so they don't end up with egg on their face whatever the outcome is. Because for some reason they cannot just say, at this moment in time we have no information.
I think Postecoglou is in the process of putting the team on the back foot regarding his future. He's putting them in as bad a light as possible and counting on the fan's enthusiasm over the cup to put pressure on to keep him. I think it will work. If I were Levy, I would fire all Postecoglou's coaches and hand pick replacements to include an experienced coach/manager who would be ready to step in if he doesn't produce during the first half of next season.

In the cold light of day his league record for 2024/25 is nothing short of horrendous, having the most defeats of any team not to be relegated, finishing one place from relegation, falling out with the fans and media on the journey and losing more Lindon derbies than we all care to remember.

Yes we won the Europa Cup and he does deserve credit for that, but is it enough to beat the ilk of Bodo Glint, FC Twente and the worst Utd team in decades to keep your job, that is the golden question.

Either way Levy is on a loser here, he sacks the first manager to produce silverware in 17 yrs or he risks keeping the manager with our worst league form in decades?

I believe this will come down to who is available, it will have to be a very good candidate to convince Levy to pull the pin now and suffer the inevitable backlash from some quarters, when he can keep Ange and give him until Xmas to turn things around.

Need a proven winner. We are in champions league next season. Do we want to win it or just make up the numbers and reach the last 16?

Remember when we got Arnesen and he wanted Jol as manager but Levy thought we had to have a big name so got Santini? Arnesen then spent 2 months trying to piss Santini off so he'd bugger off. Result, a wasted season. Well if Levy hoists Postecoglou onto Paratci expect similar, except we'll have no coach on the books like Jol to step in.

I think Levy actually wants the wasted seasons because then we are in a perpetual project rather than actually investing in the hearing and now to actually achieve something. Perfect when you think about it keep the managers rotating and then you always have an excuse that the team is never ready. That’s why I am expecting him to keep Ange until November when we will still be rubbish in the league.

Hang on, so is it ENIC meeting to discuss Ange over dinner?

Is Ange invited or not?
Misread your post, leading me to assume I misread the tweet (nothing to do with extended rum imbibing due to our cup win, I can assure you).

Right, let's start again... I think this is something Levy would absolutely do.

A nice, cordial let down - as is straight after cup win, but also best to do right away - and negotiation on how to let him leave as if it's mutual, so he can go ego intact.

Fair deal.

I don't think it's strange to do it that way at all.

In the circumstances, it makes total sense to me.

I will be gutted if Ange is our manager opening day of next season.

I hope so. We need a top manager.

We didn't though, did we. It's just retrospective bullshit from Ange.

"The league? Nah, wasn't bovvered mate"

The excuse changes and we get gaslit into a new reason. "Too many games", "too many injuries", "wasn't trying to"

There's just no observable evidence to support that. In the league, he's been one of the worst managers the league has ever seen. At least relegated clubs can point to budgets and quality.
110% he has been trying to win league games. He's been rattled like a charity tin throughout the losing streak, so it doesn't fit
Yeah I agree with this tbh. It's why I'm so surprised we as a fanbase just accepted it. I thought it would've been a lot more toxic the past few months

I do think it's criminal how we've sacked off the league. It's an insult to the fans who pay their hard earned to go and watch, travelling, staying over etc. Look at Palace, won the fa cup last weekend, first ever major trophy, hammered us in the lead up, won the thing, 3 days later turned wolves over. Gave Liverpool a game today.

It's so unprofessional and downright embarrassing how we have behaved as a club leading up to the final. And since tbh. It comes across very small time. I also find it quite incredible how many fans are accepting of it too.

We finished 17th. There are no signs it's getting better. Ange, thank you for your part in Wednesday, but we should move on.
Yeah it's insulting how Ange tries to excuse the league performances. Our league form has been pish since Nov 2023.
