With the caveat that Wednesday was incredible and my head is still in the clouds because of it.. I am still driven slightly crazy by the fact that a lot of fans seem to be treating that Europa League final as the Series Finale of Tottenham Hotspur.. Almost a whole, "I don't care what happens now. It was amazing. I'll be happy whatever. Let him stay, he's earned it".

No. Because as great a night as it was.. In October, it'll just be a memory. And it won't be comforting when we are inevitably getting beaten most weeks and pissing away what is an astounding opportunity that has landed in our laps. Getting the trophy weight from around us and being in the Champions League is potentially a phenomenal launching pad for us, if we are brave. The club cannot waste it by being inactive due to some misplaced sense of politeness.

May I ask a silly question?
Which manager will have a nice time not to mention winning RM, Barca, PSG etc. with our current squad? If you know him just say it loud and Levy will do the rest.

Although on second thought Ange and his bus could sometimes get a draw.
Is it going to be bus or Ange ball? ATM it’s neither well today I’m not sure what type of football we played. We got totally dominated yet produced virtually f all going forward. Said it for a long time when we have the ball we bereft of any ideas of what to mostly unless it’s a transition now and then. Even then it requires MADDs to be playing. Today our attack was awful.

Couldnt agree more. We cant waste a pre-season and preparation with Ange and its a car crash start to season. The negatives far outweigh the positive.

I've always liked Ange , and I have been frustrated by a lot of what he does with the football , or in some cases he hasn't done , but I am a believer in reality and I don't like being bullshitted or conned in any walk of my life .
When I heard Ange say it was an outstanding season he lost me , I felt for my wallet to make sure it was still there .
Con and bullshit yourself all you want but don't try and do it to me , show me some respect , like I have you .
Thankyou forever for the cup win but for me it's now time to jog on , your job here is done .

Been creamed by Woolwich and chelsea in his tenure. Likewise v liverpool. Everton away earlier in the season first half was pub football. I dont like idea in two seasons time we are playimg qpr in the championship opening day of the season. Im sorry i love my club but we need a change this summer.

Excuses, bullshit, the reinvention of history, more excuses, another dollop of bullshit, self-delusion and a few bits of reality thrown in, to disguise everything else.

I genuinely do not understand how anyone can listen to this buffoon speak, and not see through his bullshit. I'm not even being unfair to him. He's completely chatting shit, spinning everything in such a way that it looks like it was all part of the plan, he's in control, nothing to see here, finishing 17th and winning a trophy is fine, it's what we all wanted. Loses are unacceptable but there's good reason for it all. Next season will be better just trust me.

He's a gaslighting prick. I am sick of hearing him lie and lie and make excuses for his failings. He just stands there after another league defeat and says the same shit every week.

I'll be gutted if he isn't sacked imminently.

Wished you guy's reach a verdict and tell Levy
In the cold light of day his league record for 2024/25 is nothing short of horrendous, having the most defeats of any team not to be relegated, finishing one place from relegation, falling out with the fans and media on the journey and losing more Lindon derbies than we all care to remember.

Yes we won the Europa Cup and he does deserve credit for that, but is it enough to beat the ilk of Bodo Glint, FC Twente and the worst Utd team in decades to keep your job, that is the golden question.

Either way Levy is on a loser here, he sacks the first manager to produce silverware in 17 yrs or he risks keeping the manager with our worst league form in decades?

I believe this will come down to who is available, it will have to be a very good candidate to convince Levy to pull the pin now and suffer the inevitable backlash from some quarters, when he can keep Ange and give him until Xmas to turn things around.

I think this is spot on.

I think Levy and Co have already made a list of managers for next season and some gentle enquiries. It would be negligent not to do that earlier in the season given the league results and hoping for an unlikely Europe Cup win.

I suspect the ones Levy wants have said no or are too expensive on first approach, leaving a bunch of unproven second-choice managers who are as a big a risk if not more than Postecoglou.

The middle course in all of this is for a full and frank discussion that includes the club heirarchy, Postcoglou and his coaches, about what went wrong in the league, how it will be addressed and what personnel changes specifically with the training ground coaching and player load management will be implemented should he be re-appointed.

Made me think earlier pre-match all the fans waving flags, so happy we won europa, singing songs then getting torched at home by a half decent team. Levy wouldnt have liked that imo. Bit of a reality check todays game.

I want this shit sorted this week one way or the other. We need to get moving in the window really quickly because other teams aren't hanging around. Need 7-8 signings in before the start of next season or we are in big, big trouble

I do think it's criminal how we've sacked off the league. It's an insult to the fans who pay their hard earned to go and watch, travelling, staying over etc. Look at Palace, won the fa cup last weekend, first ever major trophy, hammered us in the lead up, won the thing, 3 days later turned wolves over. Gave Liverpool a game today.

It's so unprofessional and downright embarrassing how we have behaved as a club leading up to the final. And since tbh. It comes across very small time. I also find it quite incredible how many fans are accepting of it too.

We finished 17th. There are no signs it's getting better. Ange, thank you for your part in Wednesday, but we should move on.

Good post. but mate we didn't sack off the league. Where has this narrative come from? It's come from Ange, who simply said it because it was a way to excuse all the bad league results he had, to make it look like it was part of his plan. He's a lying self serving prick.

We were trying as hard as we could in the league, but Ange is such a bad manager that we simply kept losing. That's all there is to it. I am not denying that when we got to the Quarter Finals of the Europa, Ange decided to play a slightly weakened team in the league, but that was literally just a few weeks ago. We were already about 17th at that stage and suffered about 18 losses.

AND, the team that did play in the league was still good enough to get some wins, but we didn't, we kept losing.

As I have said all along, the guy is a liar, a self serving clown, who is lying directly to the fans to make make excuses as if to say "it's not my fault". I will dance with glee when he's sacked

Yeah he’s got to go. No self respecting manager calls this season outstanding or pretends to be baffled when even asked that. A simple the league season has been nowhere near the standard but we have won something and can be proud of that yet still have loads of work to do would’ve been fine.

Instead he can’t do it. He has to act insulted and like his shit now doesn’t stink because we beat United in a final. He has to put himself on a pedestal and big what he’s done up. Which by the way - I would expect this exact same sort of reaction from Jose. It’s the sort of ego you can get away with when you’re up there with the very best only.

hes fuming that his gaslighting hasnt worked on everyone, theres people that are pulling him up on his shit and he hates that.

its fascinating in a way, doubt we will see a case like this again! a bloke so out of his depth but he has a way to get simpletons on board, and theres a fucking load of them too! its quite scary really.

hes actually got these morons thinking hes built a winning culture while weve lost 25 games in a season or whatever it is LOOOL its actually insulting.

This is in part why there can’t be any hope of Ange achieving different results in the future. We look like relegation candidates for most of the season, let four goals in this very day, record losses, on and on - but he’s utterly convinced he’s never made an error.

Can't remember disliking any of our managers as much as this guy.

We didn't though, did we. It's just retrospective bullshit from Ange.

"The league? Nah, wasn't bovvered mate"

The excuse changes and we get gaslit into a new reason. "Too many games", "too many injuries", "wasn't trying to"

There's just no observable evidence to support that. In the league, he's been one of the worst managers the league has ever seen. At least relegated clubs can point to budgets and quality.
110% he has been trying to win league games. He's been rattled like a charity tin throughout the losing streak, so it doesn't fit
Yep, it doesn’t parse. Either we weren’t trying in those games or all of his comments about performances not being good enough were all a lie.

We were trying and failing and winning allowed him to set the narrative that we had been prioritizing the cup for months.
