I think most fans are in the middle and don't have a big preference either way. They can appreciate that this season was mostly unacceptable but he did win us a trophy after a long wait. I think majority of match going fans don't usually take extreme sides on these things and are quite reactionary. So, you think most fans want him to stay?
If accurate is probably a stronger indication of what might happen IMHO
In fact social media and places like this usually finds the extremes
Agree on al your points and yes there is a big correlation between match going fans and online. I just think online can create a false narrative sometimes.Yeah, apparantly if you weren't in with the 15k in the south cheering for Ange after the 4-1 loss you are a virgin... and if you were backing Ange to win the Europa and beyond you had a low IQ...
Real talk though, there are prominent social media influencers who wanted Ange out in the past weeks and months regardless, and by the way they also had season tickets, and they also celebrated in Bilbao, so it is hard to tell if there is a difference on social media.
There were boos for Levy in the stadium and the majority of fans online have wanted him gone for years so again where is the massive divide. I think it is more about when and how to express dissent than the underlying dissent being there.
Point being I don't think it matters if you are stuck in a basement or going to a game, I think all types of fans are still split on Ange. The majority want/wanted him gone, or did at some point, but a significant minority are undecided or want him to stay and that indecision only increased after the final. Even fans who wanted him gone before the final hypocritically celebrated.
But I never believe the fans online or in person are right about anything, and I think they all have similar opinions. Levy appointed Poch with only 5% of the fan vote and that one was pretty good.
Most fans know nothing and are reactionary so it is not good for a CEO to just follow them over following a proven player recruitment strategist.
That's what it's all about.

Online is very different. People post their views and then usually stick to them regardless of new evidence. So you often create an us against them narrative. Oddly enough, most of our big social media posters and twitter accounts are overly positive on Ange and want him to stay. While the consensus on here is usually overly negative on Ange and can often result to immature name calling.
But they are both extremes. Lets say 10% who really want him to stay and maybe 10% who really want him gone. The other 80% might have a slight preference either way but they will back whatever decision is made and move on.
Welcome to the divided fan base…

I wonder if he really was told that. I think it was more that he knew his one chance of retaining his job was winning Europa and that was what was necessary. It wasn't an illogical choice on his part.Oh but then he went to style of football even worse than Jose or conte. Especially if you play like that with our front 3 of Richi Solanke and Johnson. Not the same as having mane firminho salah who worked harder and were far more skillful.
Spurs fans and Postecoglou. The Stockholm syndrome writ large. We're going to start next season with Ange. Large swathes of the stadium gave a frustratingly loud rendition of "oh Ange Postecoglou"
Having only attended PL matches this season, that's the first time I actually recall hearing it since....2023?
Listen to the radio. Watch the TV. Everyone has done a 180 now and are back to Ange in. Comments like "must stay" and "deserves another season" are rife.
As I said yesterday, the game was hard to use. We actually started quite well and I commented to friends that we looked quicker, sharper and were playing at least 20% more intensely.
But in the 2nd half we fell off a cliff. 2 of the goals were Archie Gray. I think he should go on loan next season. 1 was a lazy penalty. That penalty actually came because Udogie was so dead on his feet he gave the ball away in the LWF position and couldn't even walk back.
Last goal was a freak worldy.
It's kind of a shame in some regards we now have no games for him to prove one way or another.
We won the Europa League, but make no mistake, the entire top half of the premier league could do the same if they, like us, went as ball deep as we did and thew away 22 games.
He should go, but he won't IMO.
It's frustrating. All there is for it is to let him wreck another season and hope they eventually wise up. "But wasn't the parade wonderful."You can't debate with Angefans anymore really ....
We play BADLY and LOSE with full squad and it's the players
We play BADLY and LOSE with a number of players injured and it's the INJURIES
I mean, why even bother debate???? I hope he just leave and take his fans with him.
I'd be fairly sure he's going to sack him tbh. He sacked Poch when most fans were still behind him.Look man, you're preaching to the choir - online is a complete echo chamber and, this forum especially, not to be taken as any real pulse for the average fan.
I guess my point is that the silence from Levy etc is definitely due to the win and the feel good factor around this club at the moment, despite the league form but i don't think it is an indication of which way he is going to go.
We are in a Shrangedingers Box situation right now where he simultaneously both in charge and not in charge next season and i honestly don't know a single person who would put money on calling it either way
That episode where Ange jumped over Everton in a jet ski did it for me.The TV show analogy Postecoglou used was apt. I watched all 50 episodes of "Angeball" and while there was that one episode that ended with a parade that was nice, the rest of the series was terrible. Why can't they just cancel it?
If Ange is to start next season I think Levy would have publicly backed him by nowLook man, you're preaching to the choir - online is a complete echo chamber and, this forum especially, not to be taken as any real pulse for the average fan.

My guess is he was told that whatever happened he'd get the rest of the season and then both parties would move on. But with his "oh, poor me, I won a trophy and don't know if I get to come back" routine he has outflanked Levy. We're stuck with Postecoglou until he finds some other job he wants. There will always be an excuse and the fans will never accept that he just isn't a very good manager.Whether he is or isn't going 100% isn't being decided in the coming days.
I don't like him as our manager but I can't deny the man deserves a holiday with his family and some peace from the media and frothing fans.
Just suck it up. Some of you sound like kids who want Christmas to come early.

I think he made his mind up months ago. The only reason he might stick with Ange is if we can't land his ideal candidates. Paratici wasn't brought back to work with Ange.
