We don't have a nobber of a chairman who goes on talksport or twitter either (to tell us 'how it really is'), and I just can't see that Levy would have got rid of a manager he was so obviously besotted by, so abruptly, without Jose having done something more than lose a few games. The timing of it was so odd, too - I don't think it coincided with the 'super league' stuff for the club's benefit.
Mourinho, empty stadiums, the Super League, dark fuckin' times man.

Nothing epitomises our club like being on the precipice of something good happening, something totally unheard of comes along and fucks it up.

Around that time it was moving in a new stadium that no one could go in, to finally hiring Mourinho and having no money to be able to back him. When we do finally get the money to back someone, it happens to be a guy who turns all that money into the worse league performances we've seen since the last world war.

Trix on SC said this morning that

Fwiu and posted back of house on Sunday, my man still thinks he will go.

From the conversations I have had it looks to me like some don't think he should stay at all, others aren't sure, but no one of significance is out and out fighting his corner.

It's all appears to be very complicated, and I don' think it's looking good for him personally. The club also has to look at far more than just the trophy. He has the squad on his side, and also a vocal section of the fan base, but fwiu Paratici wants someone in line with his way of thinking and working, and wants to literally upgrade everything back of house, just as he did with academy. Add to this Sponsors have been pissed off for months(although they can't have been unhappy with the cup and subsequent CL qualification), season ticket sales are down, and the squad shape is a real mess. He's now saying he wants to recruit a bunch of experienced players for next season but had agreed last season to use a conveyor belt approach and the two ideologies won't meet in the middle unfortunately.

I don't know where we go from here because good will is in short supply from the fans to Levy so how much he will want to upset the apple cart is anyone's guess, but if Paratici does get the autonomy he has been negotiating for months to get, Ange will go imo.

I must add all this was heard prior to any meeting that supposedly took place with Ange and Daniel on Sunday evening. So if that happened, and things changed at that point I don't know.

Also worth adding that Ally Gold said there was no meeting on Sunday between Levy and Ange. So if the above is accurate. And to me it does make logical sense. I think Ange is gone.

I reckon Levy is waiting for the Cup win glow to dimmer a bit before we say goodbye to Ange. He was never sacking him immediately after the season ended. Not when we won a trophy last week.

Plus he isn’t going to sack Ange when he’s in holiday. I think Ange will go once Vinai and Paratici are on board. They start 1st July apparently. Then Levy can avoid the fans blowback by making out the decision to get rid of Ange is Vinai’s and Fabs.

The more I think about it the more I’ll be amazed if Ange is kept on. The league form has been horrendous. He should have been sacked several times over.
Trix’s man is the voice in his head. That blokes full of shit

Yeah he's been on about it since 2003. We were also one of the first clubs to bring in a sporting director, in the european model.
People think Levy is a control freak but by evidence he's been trying to hand off the footballing side the whole time - it just doesn't seem like we've manage to hire anyone useful at it beyond Collini, and anyone decent hasn't really had any patience or reality with how the club has had to organically manage its own funding, rather than the Chelsea model of financial absurdity that crept it. Then, we had both Redknapp and Poch (arguably our two most successful PL managers in terms of league performance and finishes) outright throw a complete wobbly about working under a sporting director.

We could probably do much much worse than getting a Monchi type of guy in to build a squad and culture and just having a half decent head coach to pick the team and tactics and knows their limits.
Frank arnesen bought some very good players

From Gold's lips to God's ears, but I can't understand waiting until July 1 to sack him if you need to find a replacement. 6 weeks of uncertainty? When you need to do a decent amount of summer business, no one to help direct it?

1st July is impossible. It would be worse than with Nuno saga. It has to be early June. Also sacking Ange in July could lead to same trial that Conte had when Chelsea sacked him so late, that he was not able to find new position before next season started.

Heard maddison backing Ange. All due respect maddison got relegated with leicester. Im just not confident with Ange in charge next season. Tbh if were letting Mason go and new CEO arriving with paratici. I think there will be a change for next season.

It's all a catch 22 situation at Spurs.
It's rare we get a Jol, Redknapp or Poch, who can get a squad playing well above their perceived ability. More often than not, the coaches we get either get what the squad is capable of or worse.
And that's not too abnormal really. We just don't have the zest to fuck them off and try another one until we get it right like some others do.
I still have a great difficulty, seeing people talk about Poch as getting a squad playinf above their ability. Look I liked the guy but it’s criminal he never won a cup. He had probably the best first team we have had in decades and always choked.

Then change it now! The longer we hear nothing the worse this will get. Yes the players are off, but this needs sorted before we get into July, close to a month away.

People online seem to be rubbing themselves over the players lauding Ange and backing him.

Thing is, they've just won the Europa, which means for a lot of those in our squad, it's the only decent club trophy they might ever win, so they're all now content. But they're not fans and will only be looking a season ahead at a time

Doesn't mean, as fans, we should accept that level of mediocrity. I don't see how they can be playing so badly and be genuinely content with that.

All he wanted from a DoF in that period was to magically identify the cheap, under-scouted talent that fit his parameters and leave the negotiating to him.

And then he'd fuck up the negotiation, which spoiled the work of the DoF, which then spoiled the work of the manager, and on and on. That cycle went on for 15 years.

It's only now that the process of scouting and price-setting has become so sophisticated, plus his constant humiliating failure in the transfer market, that Levy has (mostly) let professionals do the work.

It was unconscionable the way we were operating 5-6 years ago, the most clownish stone-age operation in the league (worse even than Glazer-Woodward, which is nearly impossible). The improvement has been pretty rapid since then, credit where it's due. We're still probably not in the top half of the PL table in terms of being efficiently run though.
