I've just had a peek at the Forest forum and they've learnt quickly it seems:

The players will still have the defensive basics Nuno installed including team shape so I wouldn’t be surprised if they do ok while that is still baked in this season. The tail off will begin March time I suspect and continue into next season like it did with us. I suspect it will follow a similar fashion with them. I don’t expect them to be awful from day one.
Mate, that's not gonna count for much when he's telling Aina and Zinchenko to fucking sprint immediately to the 10 position from kick off, regardless of who has possession or what they're about to do with it, and has Milinkovic and Murillo camped on halfway for 95 minutes no matter the opposition, with Mats Sels under strict orders to never pass the ball further than his own 6 yard box...

Unless the players outright ignore everything he tells them to do, nothing Nuno has drilled into them is going to help.

I don't hate to say it! We were under the kosh in the second half against that Man U team! We defended well yes, but couldn't keep the ball up the field or apply any pressure.

It's who we WERE!

It's who Forest will be!
Literally couldn't string 3 passes together, the one occasion we did get control of the ball and play some very basic football we got in on goal (Udogie -> Solanke) but the players looked genuinely surprised to be in that position and cocked it up.

That win wasn't any kind of tactical victory, it was very very fortunate, if that Johnson effort hadn't fluffed it's way in off of a stray Luke Shaw bosom then that game would have gone to the lottery of pens, as neither side had any quality about them whatsoever.

Nottingham. Famous for the legend that is Robin Hood. A barely believable story of an idealistic character, who put principles and style ahead of pragmatism and reality, entertaining, fun at times, but never going to change the course of history.

Hope he smashes it honestly. His lack of structure will always put a cap on Forest’s ceiling but they will at least be entertaining now and it’s always better to have him in the league.

I hated him as my manager but he’s much better company than these cut and paste Arteta/Maresca types. The league feels more fun with Ange involved.

They seem thrilled. 😆

"Absolutely awful appointment. What is EM doing? This is going to take us backwards massively. I can’t understand this appointment at all."

"f*****g hell. I don’t see this ending well."

"Done deal. Contract till 2027. Fab. Nailed on gone by Feb."

Anyway, his cult finally has a new home, I'm very pleased for them.

Here you go guys: Ange 👋

Can’t wait to see Dudu over there

As much as I hate to say it, a better team would have beaten us that night, Man Utd had basically been as garbage as us most of the season.
The thing is had Sissoko not given the penalty away in the CL final who knows what might have happened, thats the thing with finals , sometimes you need a bit of luck on the night, I agree though we faced a horrid united team but we had already beaten them 3 times that season, I think Ange just had the players believing they were meant to win that night, counter that to the CL and it was like we were just happy to reach a final.
